Staff were very friendly and nice and we got a lovely view
Great river view, attentive service and a selection of outstanding vegan dishes, which can be hard to come by.
The staff are awesome here. The ambiance, is really enduring. Wine list whilst pricey, is extensive.
Highly recommend for those special moments in life.
We had the crayfish special and it was absolutely delicious. It was very fresh and beautifully cooked. The service was friendly and very efficient. I couldn't rate our experience more highly.
Promptly welcomed at the reception and taken straight through to our table. The staff were very attentive and saw to our every need. The setting is fabulous and the food delicious. There was only one hiccup and that was dealt with promptly and to our satisfaction. The wines were delicious!
Really can't fault anything when it comes to Matilda Bay Restaurant, the atmosphere is always lovely & service great. Only one little hick up this time, in that the wait staff forgot about our bubbles but other than that the crayfish was cooked perfectly and the salad was delicious!
Matilda Bay Restaurant is our 'go to' restaurant for dinners with friends from overseas or interstate. It's in a beautiful location, the food is superb and the service top notch. They never fail to deliver - highly recommended!
Good service and great views accompanied by very good food. We will be back very soon.
Great time. Food was good and as a special made it better value. Good ambience. Waitress attentive
Great crayfish special and the service by Anna and Juan were outstanding.
Highly recommend lunch at this beautiful restaurant.
We were celebrating a birthday and it timed in well with the cray on the bay special being on this month. Great service and atmosphere, very mice food, friendly staff.
I ordered SB which when poured was warm, you don't serve SB at room temperature, sorry....
Impressed our friends from the UK,we even had dolphins swimming in the sea outside our window.
On site parking was good.
Disappointing to see a fairly rowdy wedding reception under way on arrival on the outside Terrace.
The music was loud and clearly audible thru the restaurant even though it was some distance away on an outside terrace.
The ladies toilets soon became a wet and smelly mess by drunk female party goers, leaving empty glasses in the area etc.
The mens room fared better and wasn't really a problem.
The service from our wait person Madeline was very good and the table service thru the night was excellent.
Food was a little below what we expected but overall the food was delivered in timley manner, was tasty and was pretty good value for this type of resturant.
The setting on the river is beautiful and during the evening we observed dolphins, swans and other wildlife pass by.
The wedding party aside its still fairly noisy venue when area is full.
I was annoyed that despite spending $650.00 on a dinner for 4 I was slugged 2% surcharge for using my Amex card.
Sure I get the restaurant gets charged a higher merchant fee with Amex but its not that much higher, most venues charge 1% if any.
Then food was amazing I made the whole fish and loved it. For desert I had the pavlova but unfortunately lost the tradition fluffy light meringue with fresh fruit. The location was outstanding the full open windows makes a great atmosphere woth the yacht and boats in the pens makes it a great place. There is a great menu to pick from and nice and detailed to make it easy to know what you are actually getting.
The only thing I saw was a problem was when the lights were dimmed that there were people that were struggling to see what was on the menu. I can see it creates atmosphere.
I will be recommending the place to friends and family. And we will be seeing you next time we go out.
Fantastic night, food, service, mood....everything. Nothing was too much trouble
Lovely food and and really tasty the service was great to
The location is gorgeous and it was so nice sitting there overlooking the water. Our meal started out well with two nice entree's. However my husband asked for his steak medium rare and it was clearly well done. My main was a bit bland, as we're both deserts. Given the price, we expected much better. We were offered a discount to compensate for the overcooked steak, but when we went to pay the discount was not applied the man who settled our bill was a bit abrasive.
Yes, only if Matilda Bay returns to what it was a year or 2 ago.
The ambience was excellent and we had a nice table with a lovely river view. The service was good, with polite and attentive wait staff. The food however was mediocre, in particular the seafood dishes we ordered. The seafood (fish and prawns) was tasteless and rubbery and seemed to have been frozen. The food presentation was also very mediocre, hence poor value for around $45 (side dishes of vegetables and salad were extra). However, when we complained, we were promptly offered an alternative without any fuss. We chose a meat alternative which we were happy with.
We had an amazing lunch, Thankyou. Food was amazing, service impeccable, amazing view of swan river with 2 black swans swimming by, my sisters and i enjoyed the ambience.
Great service, very nice and quiet, beautiful view, food was good portions and tasty.
You cannot beat the view from this venue. Tables were very close together, so staff bumped into chairs and patrons. Food was good but for the price - it was not good value.
It was a wonderful lunch and an amazing experience. Cannot wait to return for an evening meal.
What a beautiful view, this restaurant has a very plush and welcoming atmosphere.
The food flavours are lovely and a complete surprise. Ok some may think it is a tad expensive but it is value for money we felt. If you have a special occasion to celebrate or you just like the good things in life, then Matilda Bay is for you.
Service was excellent, however the food was average.
The food continues to be sub par for the price. It’s close but I prefer other restaurants.
Great food of exceptional quality in a fabulous setting
Little mistake before I arrived, received an email saying my reservation was cancelled 30mins before the booking time. Once arrived everything was ok.
This was one of the most overpriced meals I have had in Perth in recent memory. IN FACT it was the most overpriced meal I have ever had in Perth in the last 22 years. Price aside, the quality and presentation was substandard and the delay between ordering and receiving the food was also unacceptable. By contrast with the meal we had the night before at Nobu, it is clear that Matilda Bay does not seem to have any sense of respect for the culinary knowledge or integrity of their clientele.
Window table didn't disappoint with sunset views over the Swan River and to the City - a tranquil setting with the restaurant being on the banks of the Swan. The discreet but efficient table service was outstanding. Recommend the Fresh Oysters , Hoi Sin Duck was also a hit and the steamed treacle dessert was delicious, just like Granma used to make ! Couldn't fault anything - the prices reflect the high standards that the restaurant provides. Close parking a problem on a Saturday night with multiple events at the restaurant, but there is an overflow carpark a few minutes away.
The ambience and views were beautiful and this was one of the reasons we chose the venue. We were celebrating my son's 30th birthday who had flown in from Sydney, along with his Canadian girlfriend, and his sister and partner (also from Sydney). We chose a 6:15 pm time slot so that we could enjoy the views during the daylight hours and as the sun was setting.
We were disappointed that the 'birthday boy' was unable to have his cocktail of choice as the restaurant had "run out of one of the ingredients". In addition, the 'birthday boy's' brother was unable to have his first choice of main meal 'the aged beef', as the restaurant "had run out". I was surprised that a restaurant could 'run out' of so many ingredients. The servings of food were delicious but very small for the prices that were being charged, especially for the men at our table.
It was a lovely touch for the restaurant to provide a Happy Birthday dessert, however, it was just as we were paying the bill at the table, so the timing was a little awkward.
Whilst the 'birthday boy' did not express his disappointment to me, I know that he felt let down by the experience. He is used to examplary dining experiences and as this was such a special occasion, overall it was not a memorable experience.
Food OK - but menu needs to be more balanced - Poached lemon chicken for an entree was far too heavy though and far too much starch for a starter. The attending wait person had no knowledge of the wine menu and after three tries at communicating our choice to her, we were instructed to "show her" the menu - this was repeated for the second bottle. One of our dessert/coffee orders was forgotten - getting attention was a chore. We usually tip.
We enjoyed our lunch on 24/12 & found the staff extremely attentive & efficient.
Like all restaurants today, the food is good but wine is triple the price you can buy it for at your local!
We did very much enjoy this choice of venue & food for a birthday celebration.
Food not worthy of the high prices.
My wife was particularly dissatisfied with the snapper which was dry and tasteless - almost like it was overcooked in a microwave.
I enjoyed my scotch fillet steak but it was $48 for just the steak alone on the plate.
The restaurant is located in a beautiful setting so it’s a real shame the food could not match the surroundings.
As always fantastic service and faultless food. We have been a few times and it never disappoints
Always love coming to Matilda Bay for our yearly Christmas celebration. We do come other times also but Christmas is a given.
But this year I cant say that I was overly impressed with the service that we received. Food always great.
We still enjoyed our night thought.
Great location, staff were friendly, food was amazing
excellent lunch, food was lovley & service excellent. As with many Western Suburb venues, over priced but better value with Entertainment card. Nice was to round off our daughter's graduation
We chose the set Menu for $95.00 per. Person.
We had an entree ,main meal and desert for this price.
The drinks were extra.’
I was very impressed with the service . The staff were very friendly and professional.
