The female staff in general appeared to have an unusual attitude of self importance versus that of "a host welcoming a guest". Observed the predominantly female staff (guesstimated at 12-15) running in several directions as in the house of a mad hatter, apparently oblivious to the needs of a recently seated guest. After about 10 minutes, I had to saunter over to the bar to a somewhat surprised bartender and request a bottle of water to fill the empty glasses on our table. When the server eventually arrived, I could not understand what she was saying because of her heavy accent. My Open Table reservation for the Friday morning brunch appeared to be of no consequence upon arriving at the door of the restaurant. My eggs benedict meal was priced at $22.00 on the menu but it appeared that the contents on the plate barely broke the cost of $2.00.....very poor presentation with the "salad" being just arugula. I imagine much of the revenue generated by the restaurant appears to be spent on the salaries paid to these overdressed and entitled female servers who gave the impression of being "prima donnas" rather than ensuring the comfort, satisfaction and the positive experience of their guests. Will never return to this indifferent and narcissistic environment. We were not interested in a show ....but rather a satisfying meal experience.

Attended during happy hour and sat on the patio. The food and atmosphere are very good. The service and cocktails excellent. Pricing is what was expected for this type of establishment around Vancouver. The only drawback was that the overhead patio heaters were too hot for a cloudy, but warm day, making it uncomfortably warm where we sat.

The food at Maxine’s is always good and well plated. Our server was very good. We were here at 11 for brunch midweek, it was already very loud.. not that the restaurant was full but the music was at such a high level our server agreed when I asked if it could be turned down. After we’d been there just over an hour, one of the staff came and said we’d have to leave in 15 minutes as there was another reservation . It would be appreciated if this was made known when we sat down, especially since I had out of province guests with me and we’d not seen each other for a very long time.. I’ve always liked Maxine’s, and understand why it is always busy.. was just disappointed to feel like we were being rushed thru..

Dinner was outstanding. Crispy chicken appie to start and share - then 4 of us all had the smash burger - fries and a couple of side salads - burger was top notch. Wine selection was great for dinner too. Lots of great choices on the menu - along with happy hour. Def put it on your list. Terry. Vancouver.

It’s a great meet and chill place as the website describes. If you’re looking for fun and light fare it’s a great choice. If you more inclined to do 3-courses on your own in a group, you may fine the “Mains” menu a bit narrow.

What a lovely place. I brought my two young children and everyone was very friendly and accommodating. I really liked the vibe. The food was great and I thought the prices were reasonable. This place is a gem.

Our server Sophie was exceptionally good - courteous, helpful, personable and did everything right! Our scallops were undercooked and had to be sent back to be cooked some more. They took forever to be ready again by which time we had eaten all the risotto they came with. She was very apologetic and immediately offered us complimentary deserts for the inconvenience. Perfect solution to an otherwise broken up meal. Overall, a delightful evening all in!

Loud tables. Why put smaller tables next to large ones? Lots of servers, took a while to get our drink orders in, food orders took just as long.

The cafe is super cute! The staff is really nice as well. The food was a big miss for us. I ordered the basic two eggs, bacon, sausage and hash brown breakfast. Bacon wasn’t all the way cooked, eggs weren’t good, and neither was the sausage. It gave hotel food vibes. My friend however got the breakfast sandwich and really enjoyed it.
