Decent drinks and food. Attentive staff, very responsive to our requests. We were seated in the patio, and we sat between two tables, who had 3 dogs between them. Barking was unexpected, as well as wet dog hair smell… I couldn’t eat my food because of the wet dog smell next to my leg. Feel like the dog owners could sit separately from general public. Maybe management can note that.

We love the decor and ambience of this place. Very comfortable and European vibe. The food is great. From the in house manager to all the staff everyone is friendly and attentive.

Everything was excellent. I would have preferred if my food was freshly hot when I received it on the first bite however, the flavour was excellent. My first time visiting and recommended by a friend. Thank you.

What an amazing experience! This was such a great dinner. We were a big group and our service was patient and caring throughout the night. I really enjoyed the Sablefish and having the option of half salads for appetizers. The cocktails were amazing, will be coming back for more spicy margaritas!

Here on holidays and wanted to try a new place. After some googling and reading good reviews I made a reservation, and not long after getting there actually patted myself on the back! Such unique, yummy food and Alona our server was amazing! We'll be going back very soon!!

They were very sweet...had a birthday card waiting on the table and gave the party of 3 a free shot :) Food was delicious as always, great atmosphere. Love this place!

Maxine’s was super loud. Music was cranked up really high and there was next to no baffling to absorb the noise of a busy restaurant and bar. We had to strain our voices to hear each other at our two-person table, finally giving up our conversation altogether.

I went to Maxine for dinner and their menu had a lot of choices and their food was fantastic. So I assumed their lunch offered a similar menu. Instead Maxine for lunch only offers breakfast or brunch options, very limited choices. The food was ok but nothing to rave about. Though they have 3 menus for booze, the food menu it's only half a page. We kept turning the menus looking for more food listings but there weren't any. The service was ... too much. We had a multitude of servers and they were all asking if everything was OK, then it became way too much. Overall the food was OK, the service was over the top, the menu choices dissapointing. Even for a brunch place, the menu was too limited. I would highly recommend for dinner.

What a great experience! We mentioned it was our anniversary and the staff went the extra mile to make our brunch special. They wrote a lovely note and gave us a glass of bubbly. The food was terrific, and the service was friendly and timely. We will absolutely come back again.

I ordered the burger and server didn't mention that the burger was cooked to medium rare. Maybe remind servers to give diner a choice of the burger temperature. As I was eating the burger I was thinking to myself "I hope that meat is ground in house". My hot chocolate was no as hot as I wanted it kinda of tempid (I was with a client and didn't want to make a fuss). Server didn't offer any dessert after lunch and it seems like she was rushing us out. Parking in the area is horrendous.

It was a delicious meal. We were two friends celebrating our bdays and they attended to details with a card to us at our table and bday candles with our dessert. The food was very good. We shared three share plates and it was just right. Lots of wines by the glass to choose from. The atmosphere is romantic, sophisticated, but still maintained a casual vibe. I would come back again.

We sat outside in the enclosed, heated patio (honestly super warm even when it was 6° C outside) for dinner and it was lovely and quiet. Server was friendly and attentive. The food was AMAZING. Best crispy chicken I’ve ever had. The cocktails were delicious, and the sparkling wine was refreshing ($7 a glass during happy hour! Love that!). 100% will be back here. Thoroughly impressed! A true GEM of downtown Vancouver.

A neighbourhood gem. A moderately sized menu, but a bit limited for vegetarians. The food was very good; the burrata appetizer was excellent. We found it noisy; so conversation was sometimes a challenge. If you're OK with exuberant energy, then you'll enjoy this restaurant. I must commend the extremely good service.

Everything from the service to the quality of the food was good. I had the risotto. The restaurant was full when we were there and thus tended to be rather noisy.

The hostess is very attentive and accommodating. The food drinks and atmosphere are some of the best for Vancouver. Would highly recommend dinner brunch and happy hour here any day of the week. One of my favourite spots in Vancouver.

Enjoyed our brunch with my friends. All entrees were beautiful & delicious. The servers were attentive & friendly. I love the interior design….takes you away to a cafe in Europe. I recommend this cafe for lovely experience! Can’t wait for my next visit.

Anyone in Vancouver should carve out some time to visit Maxine’s. We found the restaurant to be very comfortable, well decorated, and the staff were very sociable and knowledgeable about the menu. Food was excellent (we tried brunch) and the drinks are delicious too. A must visit!
