The restaurant was closed at my reservation time. Turns out they are closing for good tomorrow. The executive chef was incredibly rude and offered no restitution despite May’s advertised offering for art gallery passes “with brunch”

Phenomenal dishes loaded with flavor and finesse. If you haven't been yet you must go! The signature cocktails were excellent and I highly recommend the brussel sprouts appetizer. Everything was delicious And the service was knowledgeable and attentive but never too much. 😊👍👍

Was pleasantly surprised by the delicious cocktails and good food. Found the portions a little small for the price but it comes with territory with an a-la-carte style restaurant like this. I would definitely go back.

I was so disappointed after reading the reviews…..the candles on tables were not lit on a blizzardy winter evening…. The food was extremely mediocre and the pairings didn’t make sense to me. Pretty sure the creamed corn was from a can. Items were presented differently than the menu description. One other couple had braved the roads….service was extremely lacking considering two tables were occupied. The cocktails were very good….made up for the lack of a decent meal. Had the sweet potato brownie gifted to us by our server and it was not worth the calories. Had zero depth….lacking in spice to bring out the sweet potato flavour. Portion size in my view was increased to make up for lack of flavour, presentation was poor. Overall I would recommend for cocktails before a show but would eat elsewhere.

Located within the art gallery, May is a great place to go for a bite to eat before attending a show at the nearby Winspear or Citadel. Nice views of City Hall. The plates we tried were all designed to be shared. The presentation and flavours were good, though it is a little on the expensive side.

Ask for Olivia as your server if she’s working. What a GEM! Brunch is a tough gig and man did she shine!! Fabulous restaurant with a delightful brunch menu. Can’t wait to go again!

The food was presented beautifully, was unique and truly delicious. We enjoyed every bite! Our waitress was wonderful too. The general vibe in May is great—nice to have such a quality dining experience without the pretentious we’ve experienced elsewhere. We loved it and we’ll be back!

The food we had was delicious! However, we dined at 6:30 and 3 items on the menu were already unavailable , 2 of which we were considering. This was a bit disappointing. The dishes we did have we enjoyed. We shared a few plates and the overall meal was great. Our server was lovely - friendly and engaging without “hovering”.

Always a treat to dine at May! We ordered Scallops, Parisian Gnocchi and Beef Flank Steak, each with its own exquisite flavors. For dessert, the Almond Yogurt Cake was a hit - warm and light. And the Strawberry Chocolate Mousse which May gifted us was a delight! Our server was exceptional - attentive and gracious. It was a pleasure chatting with him when he came around. Thank you, May!

Food and server were great. The ambiance was very quiet as there wasn't more than 10 people in the resteraunt at 6pm on a Friday! The hostess had a ton of skin showing as my children pointed out.

I had the pulled chicken risotto. It was creamy and comforting with a touch of earthiness from the mushrooms and flashes of brightness from the cherry tomatoes. An excellently composed dish.

Some dishes were excellent, some we OK. Service not good as we received our first drink order after our first course. A couple of us had the Rodney Strong cab. One was a 9oz glass for $20 which is reasonable. We decide to order a bottle. Price comes to $155 for the bottle. Turns out the server changes the RS from Sonoma cab to Rockaway cab without saying anything to us. Still decides to charge us anyway. Very underhanded. I would suggest to May management when one of your servers has a very large table to dedicate one server to that table so the smaller tables do not suffer for it. Will not return.
