The history of McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants began when Bill McCormick purchased Jake's Famous Crawfish Restaurant located in Portland, Oregon, and brought the more than 100-year-old landmark back to life. When asked the secret of how he revitalized a restaurant on the brink of closing, McCormick says, "I like nothing better than being a good host." Part of the managerial talent McCormick tapped was Doug Schmick, a management trainee. The two formed a partnership in 1974, creating Traditional Concepts, a precursor to today's McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants. In 1979, they opened the original McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant in Portland, Oregon. The combination of an open imagination and a respect for tradition are what makes McCormick & Schmick's the classic and successful business that it is today.

    We were in Harrahs in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It was our first time in McCormick and Schmick’s. I took my wife for a date night. We had an intimate table along with the best seafood. Cooked to perfection, serving size was good and the waiter was very friendly and helpful. Pricey but well worth it.

    The bread was sour and hard. I ordered the bbq pork chop and the barbecue sauce was also sour, the after taste was awful. My husband ordered the shrimp linguine pasta and it was good. Thanks

    Very expensive You are paying mainly for the service and ambience which was excellent. If you take into consideration the meal, its not quite worth that amount of money spent. Just about $50.00 for a lobster tail that was very tough and parts of it could not even be chewed, 3/4 of the topping on the creme brulee was so badly burnt it was inedible and the alcoholic drink had barely a splash of alcohol in it. On the other hand, the lobster bisque, asparagus and filet mignon were very good. It was nice for the experience but I will recommend this with caution.

    NY STRIP was fantastic cooked in a butter sauce! Server was on top of his game and brought everything promptly! Oysters were atypical but still delicious! Highly recommend going here to eat dinner! Ambiance was excellent and I look forward to coming back!

    First time at this restaurant. The food was delicious! The service from Mary was impeccable! She was friendly, knowledgeable on the menu items and just a pleasure! The prices were reasonable for some items and pricey (king crab legs) on others, but better than some of the other restaurants in AC. Had a wonderful evening here!

    Dined at 8pm on a Saturday night, just after Thanksgiving. Restaurant was 1/4 full. Booth we sat in was very private. Our server was terrific. She was attentive, professional, and offered suggestions.  Enjoy the calamari, and soup. Main entrées were salmon and Seabass. Everything was perfectly cooked and presented. Highly recommend.

    I took my mom here for dinner to celebrate her retirement anniversary. Nothing special was done. Even though I mentioned it in the booking, there wasn’t even a happy anniversary. The appetizers were delicious. The oysters Rockefeller, calamari, and shrimp kisses all were delicious. Our entrees were just okay and the cocktails were just okay. A couple of times we would order a cocktail off of the menu only to have the waiter come back to tell us they didn’t have it. My wife’s soup was forgotten about. They did end up taking it off the bill and giving it to go. It was my first time here at the McCormick & Schmick’s in Atlantic City and I will definitely not be back. There are too many other restaurants there that are 10x better.

    Worst food ever. We were so excited to try this restaurant. The prices are fair but the food tasted like it was a frozen pop in the microwave meal. Awful. Won’t be coming back.

    Lunch was not available to us. Lunch was only served on the weekends. The restaurant refused to let my brother order the Hamburger with truffle fries due to sitting on the main dining room. We were not able to sit in the bar area due to our grandmother being in a wheelchair. Not a great 94th birthday celebration. We will not dine there again.

    We dined at McCormick and Schmick's to celebrate our wedding anniversary and our son's birthday. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. From our cocktails, soups, appetizers, entrees to desserts, everything was delicious! Our server was very pleasant and attentive. It was a very enjoyable evening!

    The service was excellent! The food was disappointing. I have been here been before and was quite please but last night I was disappointed in the shrimp scampi. It was kind of flavoless.

    This place is an absolute dump, shame on management for letting it get to this point. We had lunch here the day after Thanksgiving. Our reservations were for 2:15pm. We arrived about 20 minutes early and the host did not seat us until 2:15pm because she said there were only 2 servers working. There was no crowd at all, probably a total of 10 diners. Anyway, when we were finally seated: 1. The booth we were seated at had food on the seats and imbedded in the corners. 2. The plates were stuck to the table; some were not clean and had dried food on it. 3. We had two glasses with food stuck to the side. 3. It took the server almost 20 minutes to stop by the table and give us water. 4. They took the one item I liked, "fried shrimp" off the menu. The explanation given did not make sense to me. We didn't stay for dessert because I was not happy with the overall experience. Also, there were two dogs barking loudly a few booths over so we decided that was enough reason to call it a day. We won't be back.

    The Turkey was horrible. Tasted like it was butterball prepackaged Turkey. I expected fresh Turkey not packaged to be served. Stuffing was only about a tablespoon with on the plate. It should have been more

    We had Thanksgiving dinner here last year and it was very good. Our table was next to a window and the cold radiated- I should have asked for a different table. The wine we ordered was not available; we selected a different wine in the Riesling area. One glass of wine a different guest ordered took a rather extended period of time to be delivered. We all had the Thanksgiving turkey dinner. The soup was not hot, and the turkey came rather quickly and it, too was not hot. In the end, it was just OK. I am not compelled to return.

    Good evening and Happy Thanksgiving! First I want to say our waiter was Jacob and he was pleasant, accommodating and apologetic of our circumstances as follows: 1 - Our bacon wrapped shrimp was over cooked and it arrived with our meals 2 - The blackened red fish was cooked so long that it was tough and had the texture of chicken 3 - I exchanged the blackened red fish for a bowl of lobster bisque which had no flavor and I immediately lost my appetite 4 - The walnut salad was tasty yet a rather small portion 5 - The butternut squash soup was perfect 6 - My significant other enjoyed his shrimp stuffed salmon but the portion was VERY dmall I was shocked with the bill and didn’t feel like it was the value of the food or experience.

    We had a quiet little table in a nice area with curtains making our table feel “private “. My husband and I both enjoyed our dinners. My husband had a new fish calledCobia. I had wonderfully cooked large scallops. They were delicious. We enjoyed our dinner very much and will come back again.

    The food was delicious. We enjoyed every meal. However, we felt rushed, as the waiter didn’t even ask if we wanted dessert and he left the bill on the table while we were still eating. Other than that, we loved our dinner.

    My partner and I celebrated Veteran's Day at McCormick & Schmick's. McCormick & Schmick's offered a special to honor our Veteran's. The recognition we very much appreciated. We sat in one of the small booths in an alcove. It was very private, the ambiance was outstanding and the food was delicious. The music was a little loud, but other than that, it was very enjoyable.

    It's not you but after paying $600 for dinner it doesn't make sense that we had to pay $20 to get out of the parking lot.

    Be very careful in AC when receiving your check. We were a table of 4 and went spent some cash caus why not- but when the bill came there was a ‘suggested tip’ however it wasn’t suggested- it was included in the tab. Now we always tip 20%++ almost too much as my bank yells at me. But for the server to not express that when dropping the check - that’s not cool.
