McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Reston
Food cooked to perfection. Personalized service was outstanding.
Very pleased, we got seated immediately and our servers took good care of us. My husband ordered fresh oysters and I ordered clam chowder soup, both were delicious. As main dish my husband ordered lobster tail and I ordered the grilled seafood trio. Both dishes were also delicious. We ended our night with créeme brûlée. Our dining experience was excellent, from the service received to the quality of the food.
Service was ok but was valentine's day and wifes birthday. When M&S called back to confirm reservation said wife would get birthday dessert. Told waitress wifes birthday and she said happy birthday. We ordered desserts and both charged. We drove up from NC and chose this M&S because we used to live in area and came for birthdays and anniversaries.....Will dtill come when in area....
McCormick and Schmick used to have a better wine menu (older red wines) and a variety of fresh catch that changed daily. Not this time. The wine list included Ecco Domani Pinot Grogio, available from Costco for $8 a bottle and which no respectable restaurant would carry. We had Valentine's dinner so perhaps that's why they had more of a standard menu. The two lobster tails were small relative to the $38 price.
We were thrilled with both the food and service on our most recent trip to M&S 2/14/20. We previously had poor experiences here on Valentine’s Day but this year was much different. Our waiter was very personable and attentive. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. So happy we didn’t let a couple poor services keep us from returning.
Absolutely amazing experience my fiancé and I from the time we were treated at the door with David(absolutely amazing hostess by the way he deserves a raise) and the waiter whom I cannot remember his name a made the experience incredible we will be returning again for sure. Thank you for a wonderful Valentine’s Day for my fiancé and I.
We ordered drinks the moment we sat down and it took 30 min for them to be delivered. By the time they were delivered the logo in the signature M&S drink was melted and the prosecco sangria was watered down, which makes me believe they were sitting on the bar for awhile. We ordered appetizers 10 minutes after the drinks and those came out before the drinks were delivered. I understand the bar gets backed up, but it would’ve been nice if they would’ve let us know that or if something was done about the delayed, watered down drinks. I except more from restaurants when I am paying $15-$20 for drinks.
My mom came down for a visit
Anniversary. Seated at a two top right by the open kitchen with a lot of traffic by the table. Ordered a second scotch that took 15-20 minutes to receive. Said they had to go to storage to get another bottle of Johnny Walker Black. Yeah right.
Food was great. Chilean Sea Bass with topping was tasty but was expensive. Calamari is a must. Service and attention to detail was mediocre. Cocktails at a premium price.
Asked for a booth in a virtually empty restaurant and got a table in the middle. Wasn’t busy even when we left.
The Tempura tuna was extra fishy in smell and suspect it was not close to fresh. Really hard to eat. My wife’s salmon was marginally better.
Best part of the meal was the bread and wedge Salad. Should have stopped there.
The food was poorly prepared and the quality suspect. The only thing healthy was the price.
Great food, but the service was lacking.
Very nice! Their private tooms are the vest. We could actually talk and enjoy our guests!!!
It was very disappointing. I’ve had better salmon at restaurants that do not specialize in fish. My friend’s steak looked much smaller than the 6 oz. it was supposed to be and his sides were minuscule. And my martini was warm. The best course was dessert which we ordered because our portions were so small. McCormack & Schmick’s needs to do a better job.
Maybe we had a bad night. 3 of us had salmon and I had crab cakes. Crab cakes were good, but there should have been more than a tablespoon of poblano aoili to go with it. The vegetables were good. Of the three salmon, one was deemed excellently cooked at medium. One of the others was overcooked. The third was called "no where as good as Jackson's", just down the block. Service was spotty. Daughter did not get timely refills on diet coke. Waiter popped his head in and asked how things were (when we were 3/4 done with meal and asked how it was. I looked up from my food, said not a word, and the waiter said "great" and left. We had one of the private walled in booths which cut down on the noise of the bar next door, so ambiance was nice. M&S needs to make sure fish is cooked to order, and have the waiters actually stop by once and a while.
Wonderful food. Excellent wait staff. Just a really great experience.
I really enjoyed the professionalism and service that we received here. You seem to only meet management when there is an issue but in this case the manager introduced himself and was very kind and attentive to our needs. The stuffed crab salmon dish was phenomenal and I cannot wait to eat it again! Thank you all for helping me celebrate my birthday the right way!
Excellent service, delicious food, very pleasant surroundings.
The food was outstanding. Our waiter was very attentive. However, the prices are such that we can only afford to dine at McCormick and Schmick's occasionally.
The level of service, the atmosphere, and the quality of the food were all outstanding. We have been going to this restaurant for years and have always been very pleased. Highly recommended.
Wife’s birthday celebration went well. All of our party had a phenomenal time.
Food quality was not worth the price. I am not sure if what I ordered was not done right but I was not impressed
The service was excellent and the host took extra care to give us a quiet booth as it was an anniversary dinner. We had a great time and the food was great as well.
This was the first time I was disappointed with my food there. A restaurant week thing was going on that we had to beg our server to tell us about. Meanwhile the waiter at the table next to us went on about that and specials. My lobster tail was tiny and my steak was undercooked.
Overall we were disappointed in the restaurant and wish we had chosen another restaurant. We were not given a menu for Restaurant Week menu and had to ask. It took awhile for waitress to come serve us. We asked for Bread, but never came. We had to ask twice and waitress said it's in the oven, but never brought to us. They were understaff because the managers were delivering food as well. Our water was not refilled and the bill needed to be fixed, because we were not charged for Restaurant week price of $22/person. We were surprised that dessert was not included in the $22 Restaurant week. I've always enjoyed M&S Seafood at other locations, but was truly disappointed. We hardly saw customers, so we don't know what's going on with the restaurant.
The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating.
Awesome food, great service, and nice location! This restaurant is one of the best in the area.
The food was average at best. The service was okay. A manager needlessly came to our table to resolve an issue that was being handled by our waitress.
I order lobster... it came cold and over cooked... but our server saved the day ... Samantha - sweet and funny
New Years eve
Our experience was wonderful and our server, JP, was terrific. He was very personable and attentive to all requests.
Our server, Christopher, was fantastic - attentive without being intrusive, conversational, personable and efficient. Would definitely ask for him again. The food was excellent, tasty, prepared just right, presented well and plentiful. Really enjoyed the sourdough bread.
No bread. Bisque & crab cakes great. Wife’s fish so so.
Newer wait person not friendly and had a no care attitude until I spoke with Manager, service very slow, wine took forever to get to table and then was served incorrectly. Not a good experience this time.
The receptionist and greeters were very nice. The wait staff was excellent. The food was good. Our waiter was very prompt in. Helping me find another entree when they ran out of the lobster tails. (It was 6:30 pm) we loved out waiter. The fish I ordered was very well prepared and delicious. The desserts were the same old same old. I don’t think we will be back.
Realizing it was Christmas Day, we knew it would be busy. Even with a reservation we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. Our table was directly in front of the kitchen and the noise from the kitchen made it difficult to hold a conversation. At least we had a table. The wait person appeared inexperienced. Questions about wines could not be answered. At the suggestion of the wait person we placed our drink, appetizer, and dinner orders. Drinks came fairly quickly but it was a long wait for appetizers. The wait person told us that there was a wait for the crab cake appetizer to come up. After more waiting our entrees were served by what appeared to be a manager. He was surprised to find out that we never got our appetizers. We told him to forget them. (By the way one of the entrees was crab cakes) The food itself was mediocre, not very warm for being next to the kitchen. All in all we had a place to sit and food to eat. It had been quite awhile since I had dined at M&S and I thought they were better than this.
The restaurant was crazy busy!!! Understaffed for the huge crowd. Once we realized how long it took to get cocktails and oysters, we immediately ordered bottle of wine and dinner. The bread was hot and very tasty. The seafood was perfectly cooked and delicious!
Don’t get me wrong, love McCormick & Schmick’s but our waitress was awful! When she first came to our table she did not great us or give us a speal but just stood there staring at us! I had to take the initiative to ask if she wanted our drink orders. We waited forever for drinks and water!! Our meals were very slow as well. The only real thing she did say was My pleasure when we thanked her for pouring more water!!
Food was fabulous and would have been a perfect dinner if we had had a waitress with any personality at all
Just got home from dinner at the Reston M&Sand must say how disappointed I was in the service. 15 minutes seated before we were greeted by wait staff. 20 minutes after order for beverages taken had to ask for them to be brought to us. Not once but three times had to ask for more water. Was told bred was coming out of the oven...30 minutes later had to ask if it would be coming soon. My sister ordered the scallops. First she asked for the tomato pesto would/could be on the side. Wait staff came back to say they would take it off the plate. Re-asked for it to be on the side. Came out without. Had to ask them to bring. And the scallops were tepid at best. I ordered the crab cakes and asked if I could replace the orzo since I don't eat pasta could be replaced with mushrooms. the answer was certainly. Would have been nice if they said no up front since the did not replace but charged me for them. I will not be returning anytime soon. At those prices I would have expected exceptional service. Regards, Alison
We went for Christmas dinner and it was a very good dining experience. The restaurant was packed but we had a very short wait for our reservation. Service was good although the bar service was somewhat slow. Our meals were cooked perfectly and served promptly. This is a solid restaurant and I recommend it.
