In the early 1900"s The McLeod's built this house as a foundation for their involvement in the community. It has been home to decorated war hero, community Doctor, noted author & historian, local real estate agent, and in 2003, became McLeod House Tearoom. Throughout its history, an underlying theme has endured-- the nurturement of community. In 2019 we became part of that history.
Our passion is to serve, within an environment where family, colleagues, and friends (old & new) can connect like they would around the kitchen table; creating lasting memories over great food & conversation. We hope you will find unique items in our boutique that will help you relive these moments, and create new ones. Please enjoy your visit, as it is our honour to be part of your community.

Food was great but perhaps more sandwiches than desserts. Maybe add chicken, etc.? Overall, we will be back. Thanks!
Everything is fresh. And their homemade chips are THEE best alternative to a soup or salad. Save room for dessert and try a scone with the works!
I had a few moments when I saw my mother who passed years ago now, her two favorite Royal Albert patterns, Old Country Rose and Brigadoon used for serving tea. And the teas ! Try the Earl Grey cream, in fact take some home and gift anyone of their favorites.
Outstanding service and experience and a beautiful high tea!
Loved the food and the service. Still a few flies buzzing about which get very annoying when we are eating. I really dislike constantly waving them away from our food/table/drinks.
It would be nice to have some background music as you can hear others' conversations and one feels a bit awkward as others can hear your conversations due to tighter quarters.
Twice I have gone and there are items missing on the menu. Please, have them in stock if you list them on your menu.
We were very pleased with our luncheon.
Very fresh bread for our sandwiches...lovely filling and the sides were great too.
Food was fantastic and staff were engaged with customers. Highly recommend
The staff are pleasant and efficient. They are willing to meet small requests. The food is very tasty and different from your usual restaurant menu.
The McLeod tea house is such a wonderful old fashioned tea room experience. The ambiance of the old doctors house has been maintained and I enjoy having tea in a REAL tea cup and saucer. The food is delicious and the scones are unsurpassed. The ladies who wait tables are so friendly and accommodating.
Make sure you reserve well ahead of time because it is a very popular place.
Good food and very good service. Would certainly come back.
Lovely tea house. If you want a high tea platter you have to preorder 24 hr in advance.
Overall everything was good. However the Creme Brulee was a bit of a disappointment. The custard was not smooth and there was very little
Will go back again because maybe this was a one of.
\hi there, thank you for asking. This was an appointment for 115. We arrived and 100 and got in right away, it was not overly crowded. Our food arrived at 155PM because of a mixup in the kitchen. I was worried because we had 2 hour parking on the street. This was a birthday celebration for a 70th birthday. We have been here before and had really great service and were not disappointed. I am sorry to say that I was not as happy this time with the service. If the meal was to be delayed then perhaps it would have been nice to be offered an appetizer while waiting such as a dinner roll with some butter or even some crackers with an apology that the food would take longer. The burger was quite soggy and lettuce was mushy and soft. Furthermore, the chicken wrap was not sliced in half but whole on the plate and when I sliced into it, it mushed out. My soup was tepid. I could have received the soup earlier and the wrap a little later with a carrot stick?
Sorry to complain but you asked. The little gift bag with the little container of tea and coupons was a nice touch afterwards, thank you.
The lunch and tea was flavourful and well presented. Over all a pleasant dinning experience made possible by the service.
Fabulous experience!! Very quaint old house with ambiance for days!! Food was very good. Large selection of items to choose from. Service was a bit slow but no one is in a rush to leave this place. So much character both in the dining rooms and upstairs in the boutique. Worth the short drive from the city and will definitely go again
Our lunch was great we haven't seen each other for at least 18 months and we couldn't have pick a better place. From the start we were served by our hostess who wore a mask checked our ID's.we were never rushed or hurried to enjoy our lunch. The squash apple soup delicious, sandwiches heavenly,te perfect and dessert outstanding. Thank-you for a most wonderful experience. See you soon.
Pleasant, friendly server. Food was very good. Dessert floating island was very nice.
Food was great as always. Would recommend this place to anyone.
It was disappointing of the items that were sold out by 1.
Very noisy but we did our part. Haha.
Everything was good. The quiche looked good but forgot to ask how it was.
Excellent food. Especially the chips. Friendly service. Relaxed setting.
Great tasty food, service was lovely and atmosphere was cozy!
excellent again Enjoyed the Thai bowl. Easier to eat when I could put some aside in a box to take home.
very lovely as always..
Great place to catch up with a friend.
Lovely place to eat, there was a few bothersome flies indoors but otherwise delightful
Great good. Great service. Great fun!
The service was excellent and the food was great. Just nice to be out with a friend.
Very good food and service. Prices are escalating beyond my budget which makes visits for special occasions only.
Great little place. Good food. Good prices. Will definitely be going back.
Very friendly and beyond necessary service. Really like the new wall paper. Makes for relaxing atmosphere
Fantastic ambience, great food, and fast, personable and friendly service. Would recommend to anyone.
Such a great little place! Our waitress was friendly and personable. The food was good. For myself, I found the meat to bread ratio out of balance on my sandwhich too much meat , but my husband thought it was perfect. It comes down to personal preference I think. Flavors were excellent and the beer & cheddar soup was exceptional! My only concern is although the website indicates vaccination cards would be checked they were not and when I asked after being seated if they wanted to see it the waitress didn’t know. She was fairly new. We were the only people there but I still think that they should have been reviewed
I took my sister for a late lunch today and it was fabulous. We both ordered the chicken and artichoke wrap and salads and all were delicious. Service, as usual, was excellent! Thanks Jon and staff
Absolutely the best food.
Loved it & will return again.
Took a very long time to be served once seated. We sat for approximately 15 min before anyone came up to offer us tea. The rooms were very loud and crowded, but when we were leaving we saw that the sunroom was completely open and no one had been seated in there. The whole establishment just looked like it was understaffed. The decor is really the only reason to visit.
Great price, quality service, wonderful staff. The food was excellent and unique!
It took 55 minutes for our food to arrive [3 specials-mushroom and brie quiche, with spinach salad, and a burger with apple salad].It was not at all busy! The quiche were fresh out of the oven, and the burger was warm. The quiche had very little flavor, the burger was tasty.
Fantastic outing for a girly time together (altho the boys might enjoy it as well). Lots to eat, couldn''t finish it all so happily took along a doggie bag. Caught them on a very busy day so service took quite awhile but overall it was nice to slow down and enjoy such a time honoured tradition as High Tea! Highly recommend!
There was a huge draft coming in from the outdoor patio on the northwest corner of the building. I was sitting in the veranda. Also the patio door was left open & there were many flies in our room and also many wasps which made it very uncomfortable. I would suggest a screen door or keeping the door closed as the bugs were really bothersome.
We had a very pleasant evening. It started with an unusual but remarkable appetizer of loaded chips with the house dip along with delectable lobster stuffed mushrooms. Our mains of lobster rolls and a Thai Noodle dish were so delicious. They were able to give my sister a GF bun which was fluffy!! Then came the very special floating island desserts, amazing. Our servers were thorough in checking with kitchen staff about several dietary needs. We will definitely be returning!!!
