The Med Restaurant is one of Saint John's oldest restaurants, serving hungry guests since 1971.
Since then, the restaurant has gone through many changes and improvements along the way.
Chef Christos (second generation) and his team are proud to prepare Greek and continental dishes, using fresh and wholesome ingredients as well as the finest imported products (extra virgin olive oil, oregano, etc.) from Greece and creating everything from scratch. Our products are also sold in our store, Theo's Fine Foods, located in the same building, next to the Med.
Our dining room is bright and airy, with a modern Greek flare, in a relaxed and casual atmosphere.

The service was quite slow. It was a long time before we even got to place our order. And then we waited 45 minutes we we ordered appetizers and the appetizers came with the meal. The the restaurant was very busy and extremely loud. We were celebrating a special occasion at. And it was difficult to talk to each other at our table. I don't know if I would choose this restaurant again for a special occasion. The food was amazing

We were seated to the far right, very nice. Our server, Kim, was incredible. We both had the sirloin tips so yummy. The soup was served piping hot. Very tasty. The Med rarely disappoints.

2 of us had tenderloin tips which was delicious, my sister and grand child had fish and chips and they did not enjoy at all they did not like the batter.

The Med is a great family place with good selections, good food and average prices. I have been frequenting the place for decades and have no reason not to return. I was disappointed with our server this time however as there were no more than 14 people in the large dining room during the 90 minutes I was there (but less for some of my visit) and all the services were slow - bringing our menus, water, bread, meals, take-away boxes, bills, everything. The female at the table next to us seemed to be interviewing for a job as well as dining, and several times when I tried to get our servers attention, she went to the other couple and then stood conversing, once for at least 10 minutes, before coming to us. I get that SJ is laid back but I really don't think prioritizing a job application discussion over dinners who came in for to purchase meals only is the sign of good customer service. Food was good.

The pork tenderloin was tough, the vegetables overcooked and the fish bland. The waitress was new and made a few mistakes serving us, like bringing us the wrong bill. But for the local restaurant market offer here, all and all, still very decent place to go dine out

We came hear before going to the theatre. Service was good and timely. Quantity and quality of the food was good also. Server was friendly and efficient. The cleanliness could benefit by some employee training though. All in all I will be back and will recommend to others

Enjoyed lunch at our favourite restaurant in the city. The menu is a mixture of the staples that they are known for (Tenderloin Tips, Liver & Onions tips, Italian Cutlet…etc) as well as many Greek favourites that can’t be found anywhere else in Saint John. We had a guest who was visiting from Edmonton. She had gone to school with one of the owners and she had a chance to talk with him and get a photo. We knew we could depend on the food as well as the service.

Our server was very attentive and pleasant. Everyone enjoyed their choice of food and gave a 10 for flavor, quality and quantity. With the exception of the yogurt chicken thighs. They were a bit dry and there was hardly any meet on them, very disappointing. I should have ordered my all-time favorite, the lemon chicken. Next time!

Food was delicious outside of the garlic cheese bread which was off a bit. Crows loved it though. Now our server Lisa...she is amazing and always makes the meal perfect. She is sweet, funny and an absolute delight. No joke, ask for her when you go, you will not be disappointed.

Our waitress was wonderful. Disappointed that tenderloin tips were pork and not beef. They were quite "chewy". Very little mushroom or green peppers etc. Ribs were flavourful,but quite a bit of fat in them .

Reserved a table online for 8 people at 5:30pm. Called the morning of the reservation at 11:32am and spoke to someone about adding one more person. She asked for my last name and said she’d change it for me. Arrive for reservation, table is only set for 8 people so we had to squeeze one person on the side, which he was essentially in the corner of the table as to not block the walkway. Didn’t get the name of whoever answered the phone but they clearly didn’t follow through with changing the reservation. Other than that, good was great. Was a bit longer of a wait but the restaurant was busy, so understandable.

Think of a restaurant that makes you feel at home with the surroundings, music, drinks, food and people with 5 star standards and you will remember “The Med”. We have had the delight to enjoy their superior cooking for the five decades since they opened their doors. I look forward to returning for the roasted lamb, lemon potatoes and delicious vegetables.

Went with a group of friends before a movie. Was seated promptly, server was very friendly and had a good sense of humor. Everyone loved there food. One of use ordered the Flaming Saganaki which is a must if you are there. There were 5 of us and each had a piece. The mains were filling and a lot. Trust me you won't be leaving hungry. All round fantastic experience. All of us will definitely be back.

Our server was young and very abrupt. Quick questions no hellos, or pleasantries, which is very unusual for this restaurant. We frequently attend this business and we're very put out by the attitude of our server. Listening to her speak to a table adjacent to us she said she had been at the Med for 1 year. The food was amazing as always, so 8.5/10 would be our rating for this visit.

The food is very good and plentiful! We have never been dissappointed . Consistant always. The staff is ever so capable. Our server this last time was quite new to the job but very pleasant and patient . It was Fathers Day so the restaurant was busy and she seemed to hold her own easily. We give this restaurant a 5 out of 5!

My husband and I were driving and I was able to get a later reservation . Within 10 minutes. Our waitress Lisa was amazing. Food , ambiance and meal were excellent and had a nice night out before Father’s Day !

Arrived a few minutes early for a 5:15 reservation for 8 people booked through OpenTable, only to be told there was some issue with the booking and they would have to give us a table for 6, and sit 2 of the party at the nearby bar. The table had barrels for the base, making it difficult to sit comfortably, and the bar seating had us facing the opposite direction from the rest of the group. Our waitress was top notch with her attention. Drink orders were taken quickly and lots of refills on water, however the food service was excessively slow - over an hour wait for the food once we ordered. Not sure if the kitchen held the whole order back to send all dishes at once, but the top bun on my burger was hard as a rock from sitting under a heat lamp, the side dish was incorrect from what was ordered, and other guests food was just warm, not hot. Overall, a disappointing experience for Mothers Day. The waitress was working her butt off, and was exceptionally pleasant and efficient, really the only bright spot about the visit.
