We asked for vegetarian versions of a popular dish. We were served a bowl with beef and tofu, NOT vegetarian. The beer list was fine, but not great. The food was hearty, tasty but not special. The best part were the miso soup and the little garnish dishes. Unfortunately, the garnish dishes were served before the blander main dish and removed when we were served our main dish - which would have been a great background for the spicy tastes.

Took my husband there for dinner since he recently got a raise. He got one of there soups and loved it. I got biobimbap with the beef and it was excellent. I recommend this place for a date or group of people

Staff was very friendly and food came out quickly and in satisfying, tasty portions. Was disappointed that my first choice for entree was unavailable, but what I ended up getting (spicy pork and squid) ended up being delicious, so it all worked out in the end.

Decided to try this restaurant for New Years. Never again... the prices are insane for the portions that you get and the food isn’t really even authentic Korean... very disappointed I can’t say we will ever return.

Food is decent, albeit slightly “Americanized” Korean, for the value. Staff is well intentioned but clueless about food and service. Seems like they are catering to the local college crowd. Don’t bother if you’re a local foodie.

Most Korean food is a lot of garlic and a lot of chili's which drown out the food. Meju strikes a balance that allows each element to shine through. The cocktails are surprisingly good and very refreshing. Service was attentive, but not hovering.

Phenomenal service by our server. Banchan was fresh and light. The Korean fried chicken wings were delicious and a definite must order. The grilled pork was alright.

It took us 20 minutes to be waited on (I think our waiter happened to be on break when we arrived?) but after that, everything was fantastic! The food was amazing and the scallion pancakes were the best I've ever had.

Ambiance and service was fine. We started with shumai that were quite tasty as were the assortment of picked vegetables that were brought to the table. My Spicy Pork Bulgogi was great! My dining companion's stew was a very thin broth that was served thermally too hot for her to eat. When it cooled, she said flavor was quite bland. Definitely not her expectation of Korean! It is definitely worth another try with different dish choices for her.

Perfect night Sunday. It was not to busy. We had great service and food was just spot on. Very delicious! Unfortunately (fortunately) it’s located in a food destination neighborhood. Otherwise you could never get in. Thanks guys! Great dinner for my daughters graduation.

Food was good as it usually is. kimchi scallion pancakes were fantastic and so was all of our food. been there about 5 or 6 times now and as much as i like the food i go with minimal expectations of the service, usually slow with drinks and attentiveness but not the worst in davis. However, more of a focus on dining experience in would be a welcome improvement and would really make a difference for people to return to the restaurant.

We all ordered bibimbap and although it was tasty, it wasn't the best we've had. The stone bowl didn't seem to be hot enough so no crispy rice on the bottom : ( It's in a great location in Davis Square. I'd go back again and request a super hot stone bowl next time!

The Korean 'tapas' plates here are amazing - try the chicken bites and the beef short rib buns! Portions are generous and great to pick and choose from various plates. Tables are a little close together so you definitely get conversation bleed over. Wait service was a little slow to order but very friendly and they have great recommendations.

Everything we ordered was good. It is perhaps a bit less traditionally Korean than one might think based on the name. For instance, my chicken dish had cheese on it. as did the Bulgogi Fries. But we enjoyed it.

Food was fine and servers were friendly. But all the food came out at the same time, so the table was crowded with multiple courses at once. It's happened here before, so maybe it's just how they choose to pace (or NOT pace) their service. Meju is an ok option--I can't think of anything specifically "bad", but there's better Korean food elsewhere and better dining experiences nearby.

Went on a weeknight at 6PM. The food was very good, but our service wasn't great. Our server didn't do anything rude and was nice, but was just pretty absent and unattentive. Would have totally understood if it was really busy, but it was pretty quiet.

This is the 3rd time I went to Meju. Unfortunately, not the best experience. The menu changed a lot since my previous visit, and nothing really enticed me nor my date, so we got a couple of plates to share. roasted mushrooms and veggie duplings. They tasted nice, but were not out of this world, given the price and portion size. The drinks were also subpar for $12 each. $50 for 2 small apps and a mixed drink each in Davis Square. I was dissappointed, especially with respect to my previous visits. I may or may not be back.

We met my cousin and his wife here for a Friday night out. We liked that we could have tapas style apps and actual entrees too. Tried Soju ( Korean rice wine) for the first time with the help of the server's recommendation. Delish! The service was excellent-attentive, helpful and pleasant. All the food was great too! Accurately described on the menu and tasty! The music was nice too!

The interior is very modern and open. The bar has a nice selection of mixed drinks and soju and the menu is a good size (not too many options but enough to have something for everyone.) The bibimbap was delicious and you get a very generous portion for the price. Will be returning for sure.

Food is terrific, classic Korean style BBQ. The buns are a must. Service is always solid, they are prompt and friendly. This is a solid restaurant, it won't blow your socks off but is well worth the price! I've been several times and has been consistently good. Check it out if this type of food is of interest!

I have reservations about leaving a two star review for this place, but after last night I feel compelled. I've been going to Meju for over a year. Recently, they changed their menu and things went downhill. Last night I ate with my partner at the restaurant. We ordered bibimbap and the Chicken on Fire. The bibimbap was so bland that we didn't finish half of it. While the Chicken on Fire had flavor, it was so overwhelmingly spicy that it made eating uncomfortable. Server charged us for an item we didn't order. Water was not refilled. I used to really like this place, but it's unlikely I'll be back.

We loved the ambiance and the excellent service. The food presentation was appealing. The only (major) issue was that the chef needs to learn how to use spices. The silken tofu mousse had a wierd taste, the Raman octopus main course was so spicy it was non-eatible. The ginger /honey tea and the blacken cod were delicious We will not return
