The filet mignon and ahi tuna were delicious and cooked perfectly to order. The mushroom risotto was excellent, as were the additional side vegetables. Also enjoyed a very nice Montepulciano. It was a delightful dinner as always, and the decor and ambiance are beautiful.

Outstanding!!!! Excellent all the way around!!! If you are looking for fresh, excellent food, service, atmosphere, value, this is the place. Owner personally checks in with you and offers honest terrific advice on dishes to order. Seafood, fish and all ingredients as fresh and wonderful as you could ever want. I would love to love this restaurant, but the service is so slow I just can’t. We have tried over and over again throughout the years to give Mele another chance, but each time we leave saying, never again. The food is always good, but the service is fair at best. The waiters are easily confused with drink orders and the food comes out at a staggered pace. Would love to hear about improvement.

Our neighborhood restaurant that every time we take people here they very much enjoy and wonder why they have not been there before. Service is most friendly. You will love the owner. We also love that they have two portion sizes of most items on the menu.

The pasta dishes were fantastic. The fish dishes were also fantastic, but some were a bit on the pricey side. The attention from our various servers was also notable. All were friendly and efficient. We would recommend Mele's Bistro.

It has long been a sentimental favorite of ours. There was a time (when it was Village Bistro) that as soon as our car was spotted pulling into the parking lot, the bartender would start mixing our usual cocktails. In the decades that have passed, the city has sprouted an abundance of Michelin-starred restaurants. Mele is a welcome and welcoming reminder of earlier times. Service can sometimes be at a relaxed “Mediterranean” pace, but that’s fine with me. I enjoy the nostalgia, the excellent meal, and my usual cocktails.

Hands down, the best meal we had while visiting D.C.!! The warm welcome, the amaaaazing owner giving detailed descriptions on how the fresh food was procured and prepared, to the staff and ambiance. The cost is higher, but it’s completely worth the little splurge.

This a great little restaurant with lots of locals dining. We were visiting and picked this restaurant because of great reviews and variety of menu options. It was Friday evening and very busy. The host was very pleasant. We were seated promptly at our reservation time, but service was super slow. When the server finally came to take our order they were all out of the three items we had selected. We had to regroup as no one had told us what was “out” when we were given munis, and it took a very long time for the server to return. There were A LOT of menu items unavailable—-basic things like most of the ravioli options. The food we ordered ended up tasting good, but I would have loved to have tried the things we had actually decided to come to the restaurant to enjoy. We asked for more bread which never appeared and the water glasses were never refilled. Food is tasty, but if you have allergies maybe call ahead to make sure they have the entrees you are expecting, otherwise you might not have many choices.

We had a wonderful experience. The staff was outstanding and so welcoming. Food was fantastic and so fresh. We particularly appreciated the fact that there are no televisions in the restaurant. Hard to find places like that today! There were so many delicious things on the menu which we wish to try that we’ll be sure to dine there again the next time we are in town!

The service was outstanding with a lot of choices on the menu. The ambiance was nice and the decor inviting. The appetizers or Calamari, duck sausage and asparagus soup were outstanding. We followed with a main courses or Steak, fish and 2 pasta dishes with all being very delicious. Highly recommend a night out at Mele Bistro.
