The food was delicious. Great scotch/whiskey options. Service was a little slow for it being a quiet even but she was very pleasant. The cheesecake was amazing!!

My wife and I went to the Melody Bar on Valentine s supper. At first glance the venue is quite impressive. The decor and ambiance was of a higher quality establishment. We were one of the first guests of the evening and it was nice inside with soft music in the background. We were sat down in our seats and were greeted by our server. Again since we were one of the first guests our server was able to have a bit more time with us an made some great recommendations. As the night progressed and it got a little busier (keep in mind not packed just busier) the service slowed significantly. We ordered our cocktails and then our supper. This is the part for the food. I started off with an oyster shot which, even though it looked a little weird to have an oyster and a raw egg in a shot glass it was good. The appetizer was a Salisbury steak meatball thing with Monterey Jack cheese and a wasabi mayo with ponzu sauce. This was absolutely delicious and made me crave for more. My wife had lotus chips with the salmon salsa that I also tried. It was again different but delicious. For the main course I had the braised short ribs which were very well done. It was so tender that the meat came off the bone easily. My wife had the duck dish which was also excellent. I would also like to mention that my meal had a cabbage salad. I'm not a big cabbage guy but I tried it and was it ever delicious. The things that I didn't like about the Melody bar was that the music got louder as the night progressed and since it was a smaller space it made it harder to talk to each other. Also they don't serve any pop products. I know that they are trying to go for the higher class clientele but who doesn't serve pop? I understand that their alcoholic drinks are all special but what about the person who decided to be the designated driver? What are they going to drink? Water? So the overall experience was good but more of a special occasion place.

Interesting place with potential. Seems to be finding itself a bit. Drink menu was nice with some trendy options. The food menu was cool, a kind of Asian tapas fusion theme, lots of seafood. My one comment is that if they are going to market themselves as a jazz bar, they might want to play some jazz.
