My husband and I brought my parents for a late Mothers Day dinner. Everything was lovely aside from the noise level. The music was blairing and we could barley hear the server and had a very hard time having a conversation.

Today I revisited at Mercato in Mission for a Mother's Day lunch, and it was an exceptional experience. The moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and enthusiasm by Mike, our incredible server. He made sure every detail was taken care of, from suggesting delicious dishes to ensuring our drinks were promptly refilled. The entire staff was attentive and friendly, creating a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. The food at Mercato was absolutely divine, with a wide variety of flavors and beautifully presented dishes. Our Mother's Day celebration was made even more memorable thanks to Mike's outstanding service and the delightful ambiance at Mercato in Mission.

The service was amazing. Our waiter was very informative of the menu, with pairings and sizes of the dishes. The price is a little intense. But it is family style, so I guess, split between a group, it is very moderate. Would recommend for a group of 4-6 people.

Mercato is our favorite Italian restaurant. The food is always great and the portions are generous. We like the seating options - table, hi-top, bar - having tried all three at different times. And it's a great place to people watch as the Mission district has such a diverse population. Well worth the trip from south Calgary.

This is the sort of restaurant that left the three of us arguing about who'd ordered the best dishes. Our son asked to come here for his birthday and I'm very glad he did, we all had a great evening. We sat at the bar and watched our food being prepared, a real treat for me. Each plate was thoughtfully presented using pretty straightforward ingredients that were well considered and gave us interesting, flavourful dishes. When we each took our first bite we knew we were in good hands. The service was also excellent. The gentleman who served us took immediate interest in making sure that we had everything we wanted and went to great lengths to pick out the right wines for everyone. My son and I shared a very good syrah with our bistecca while my wife was given a sample of a white, rosé, and red to pair with her bone marrow and pasta with lemon saffron cream. We'd go back just to have him pick out interesting wines for us and then give us a food suggestion. It's a pleasure to go to a restaurant that leaves everyone so satisfied.

We loved the food and the service, I found it very loud, I could barely hear the people I came with, the sitting arrangement was a little tight with other people sitting right next to us practically sharing the table. I am not a fan of chairs that sit this high up, it was uncomfortable. The food was amazing though and so was the wine we had.

Only impediment to a COMPLETELY enjoyable catch-up evening with friends would be reduced noise level. Kudos to the front receptionist for moving us to a quieter section out of the noise flows. This being near the washrooms did not bother us, grateful for a noise level that allowed us to hear each other. Food, waiter, both superb! Methinks we will try Mercator Aspen for a return engagement

Mercato use to be one of our favorite restaurants. Our food last night was less than good. It tasted like they started buying meat and produce from a discount seller. The meat was flavorless and tough as were the vegetables. We use to go once or twice a month but it will be a while before we go back. Our server was fabulous, too bad the food was so bad.

The food is always absolutely delicious (this coming from an Italian). Unfortunately they were out of a few menu items but were very accommodating with some improv dishes to keep my guest happy. Dinner service was a bit slow last night but still managed to enjoy our conversation over wine while we waited. As an aside, it would be nice to have chairs that are a bit more comfortable.. Overall this restaurant is always highly recommended for the great energy, delicious food and attentive staff.
