   This was our first meal in New Orleans and it did not disappoint. The service was great, even split our salad that we were sharing (I love that). Our food was very good and I thought the price point was reasonable. I’d definitely go again.

   Amazing food and service. Environment far too loud for conversation, even at our small table of 4. As much as I would love to enjoy that food again, I would opt for a different place next time for dinner with colleagues where real conversation is needed.

   They clearly are not able to honor thei reservation times, or be honest about wait times, saying it would be a few minutes maybe 10, which turned into a lot more wait until I made a fuss. The table we ended up being seated at had been set up and empty for more than 20 minutes, so I think it’s more of a service or back of house issue. The noise level is very loud and it only takes a few people laughing and talking loudly to destroy the atmosphere. The flavors, however, were wonderful, though the portions of pasta, very small. I think they’re better options in a city like this..

   We arrived on time, yet waited over an hour just to get a drink, then another 30 minutes to receive our dinner. We had someone join us for dessert only, which we were told very rudely that the kitchen was closed and we could not order any. Food was good when we finally received it but between wait staff / kitchen staff it left us not wanting to return.

    My group of four had an amazing time dining. All of the food was incredible, but the pineapple upside down cornbread was to die for. The seafood gumbo had just the right amount of spice, and everyone was pleased with their entrees and desserts. While the food alone was incredible, Rashid’s service was fantastic. He was incredibly helpful with recommendations, knowledgeable about the menu, and mastered the balance of making sure our group was pleased while not being overwhelming.

    Meril always offers great food and a nice vibe! The service is always great and the dj on Sundays always serves up whats needed! Top 2 restaurants for brunch and not number 2 fyi!

    The food is out of this world. The seemingly simplest menu items have very complex (and perfect) flavors. It is quite amazing what these chefs do with the simplest ingredients and flavor.

    The food was good to very good. In some cases the things we chose were outstanding—but in a few cases it seemed like things were not as wonderful as we expected that they would be. We got a great table in the corner, but even still it was quite a noisy room. The decor was very cohesive and comfortable. Not overly done, but showed thought and consistency in design. The staff was very good.

    I brought my older grandsons to NOLA for Spring Break. They’ve had a lot of great food and experiences- yet they said Meril was their best food experience. The service and food was 5 *****’s. Thank you Meril Chef and staff!!
