One way to make sure you’re cooking with the freshest ingredients is to grow them yourself. Meriwether’s grows the produce it serves at its own Skyline Farm and is proud to be among only a handful of truly farm-to-table restaurants across the country. Chef Michael Delaney's menus are inspired by the Willamette Valley’s peak-of-the-season abundance, matching our harvest with some of the finest raw ingredients in the world, from the farmers, fishers and ranchers of the Pacific Northwest.

Inside, experience our warm and cozy ambiance with stone fireplaces, hardwood floors, stained glass and copper accents. Outside, guests dine year-round in the covered, heated & enclosed patio, gardens & gazebo. There is even an outdoor fire-pit, so perfect for a chilly Portland evening.     We made this reservation for our Anniversary. Very special place to my wife and I as it was where we met on our first date May 13, 2016. We met with John-1 of the owners and told him how sad we were that they were closing down-only to reopen in a couple years. We will miss the staff and wonderful times until they reopen.

    Arrived early, relaxed in the bar with delicious cocktails and found out this restaurant is closing for a couple of years, to move & remodel the current building for private events. We always dine here on our visits to Portland, we will miss them! The food and service were excellent. The bartenders were very busy and kept up with everything and maintained conversations w/those of us seated at the bar. My flat iron steak was perfection, didn’t need the steak knife! The rhubarb pie was delicious!

    Disappointing - given the mothers day occasion I think they were just churning through plates and people! Food was poor quality, my omelette was flat and fillings were totally imbalanced - no salmon or asparagus and loaded with goats cheese, dense bread and miniature fruit bowl are not the things of fine dining, finally got a cup of coffee, but no milk....poor....$200 bill I feel ripped off.....all superficial, no substance. Sorry!!

    We had a nice experience. We did have a 40 minute wait for a table, even with a reservation. It was Mother's Day Brunch, so a little slack can be given. The food was pretty good, very beautiful presentation. Our server was wonderful.

    Our dining experience at Meriwether’s was once again fabulous. We had the best waiter and the owners stopped by to say hello as well. As always the food was outstanding. We will be looking forward to the opening of their new restaurant.

    Our first experience was horrible. We did not get water until about 10 or 15 min after we sat down. Waitress took our order and did not even check up on us one single time after we got our food. No refill of water. Once we were done eating we had to ask another waiter cleaning the table to get our check. Although the food was good. I would not recommend anyone to this restaurant due to slow and bad service which is very important to me. This was a Mother’s Day lunch with my daughter and was not a pleasant one.

    Another fine experience here. We were seated within 10 minutes and our server was very attentive. The meals were very good and appropriately priced. It was a bit busier and noisier than usual as they are closing down to rebuild and the regulars want to get another occasion in before the wait.

    A total waste of money! I know they have closed, but I will never go when they open again. I had 2 ounces of chicken for $26! I ordered a glass of chardonnay and he brought me pinot gris. I asked him to check on this and he didn't, but charged be more the the pinot! You have to pay for any sides which are incredibly expensive and not worth it! We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation time and the hostess wouldn't seat us until the 4th person arrived, saying they were just too busy. Load of crap.

    Our anniversary dinner was delightful. The lettuce was fresh, as were other ingredients...and artistically presented. The ambience was delightful: homey, upbeat, quiet, and with a free glass of champagne, how could I complain? The kind waitress was congenial. We will return after the remodel.

    Wow, what a disappointing meal! My husband and I were looking forward to a special lunch out, and the food we were served was so bland and boring. I have never seen a sadder bouillabase (scanty seafood in a thin, bland tomato broth), and the $22 risotto was basically a bland plate of creamy rice; I couldn't find any of the flavors listed in the menu description. The kale salad was tasty, but the only reason I would ever pay $17 for a kale salad was because we had a gift certificate we needed to use up. There are so many more creative, interesting spots to get a special meal in Portland--and you'll probably pay a lot less too!

    Had a wonderful evening with friends who were visiting from Switzerland. They couldn’t say enough about the excellent food and the wine selection. We were at a table where there weren’t lots of tables surrounding us, so visiting was also easy.

    It was another birthday except the birthday girl was absent! We had a wonderful lunch anyway inside on a lovely day. Work in the garden prevented us from enjoying the outdoor area. We had wonderful food and service and will miss coming here for a year or so while they rebuild and reopen! ❤️❌⭕️

    Been numerous times and always happy with the experience! Great place for mostly any type of respectful dining crowd! GOoD food, GOoD Service, GOoD atmosphere! Not excited about them closing for remodel, but understand why they are...to cater to the area they're a part of. Not sure what will become of the great place after the remodel starting after Mother's Day, but very thrilled with what it's been...and going back a second night in a row to share the place with others while such can happen!

    The eggs benedict and side of potatoes that came with it was delicious! I would order them again in a heart beat. The buttermilk waffle, however, was heavy and bland, rather than light and crispy.

    This restaurant was so overrated and disappointing. The server, Lenore, was arrogant and condescending. I asked if some substitutions could be made and was told,"no." The chef has a vision for each plate and won't deviate. The starter cheese platter was good but expensive ($22) for the amount served. Salads were mostly "nouveau" lettuce choices and bitter. I ordered the asparagus salad because of the horrible choices of lettuce on the other salads. There wasn't one asparagus tip in sight, just stalks. My entree of the halibut was good, but I didn't care for the accompanying side dishes which the server refused to exchange for me. When my husband called, they specifically asked if we had a special occasion. He told them our friend was celebrating a Birthday. When we we were seated they again asked about the occasion. A third time asking the same question was when we ordered dessert. From the staff, we all felt that they were going to comp the Birthday dessert. Imagine our surprise to be told they only asked who was the Birthday person so they could put a candle in the correct dessert. This restaurant is closing this weekend in order to make the venue into an events place. They are building a new complex in the parking lot with a rooftop restaurant. If they employ the same "designer" chef who is more concerned with the appearance of the food on the plate rather than the needs of the guest, you can be sure we will not be eating at the new venue. What restaurant is more concerned with how something looks rather than pleasing customers? Hopefully when they revamp the arrogant chef will be gone, and food choices will appeal to people who actually enjoy food not decorative looking items. The entrees were good, but all side dishes, appetizers and salads were small portions that tasted terrible and were overpriced.

    More expensive than it should be for the quality of food you get ($7 for 3 pieces of bacon). Good, but not great food. Food not described well on menu (apple compote had raisins and cherries, but did not have that in the description). Not many choices. Beautiful building.

    Because they are closing (May 13, 2018) for almost two years to build a new building with a roof-top restaurant, we went there to use a gift card (purchased at Costco). We had been there about two weeks ago with friends, so I ordered the bouillabaisse which I had enjoyed then. It was awful. There was no comparison, some of the mussels were not fresh and there was very little halibut and nothing else. The price was still the same. My partners meal of quiche had a burnt crust. The glass of wine I ordered, a syrah blend for $15 was thin and lacked flavor, one of the worst wines I have had. Dessert of cheesecake was excellent. But, at the prices they charge, it was no worth it. More than $100 for a lunch that was not worth it. We probably won't go back after they return - or at our ages we may not be here to take the chance.

    Awesome birthday lunch outside in the garden. I had the burger, friends had fish and chips and salad. Wonderful meal! Cheesecake dessert! Will miss coming during the rebuild!

    We had a delightful dinner in the garden patio area. All entries and desserts were wonderful and Genevieve provided excellent service. As always, the food at Meriwether’s is consistent—perfectly prepared and comprised of high quality ingredients.

    We had to get in one more time before the closure. We were seated in the bar next to the fireplace under the gaze of Meriwether and William. It was the perfect spot. We'll miss you, Meriwethers, but we look forward to your new digs in a couple of years. See you then.
