Featuring the best local produce, fish and meat, our prefix menu offers many classic Merriman's dishes and many new inspirations as well! In addition to the offerings of our Taste of Waimea prefix menu, we will be offering seasonal dishes and of course a tradition Turkey Dinner! Just like our regular menu, we will have three terrific courses with a huge variety of local seafood, meat and produce. The price will be $115 per person, or $35 for Keiki. The experience was fantastic! Our server Catherine was exceptional! The restaurant manager Jay stopped by our table & greeted us & was very pleasant. The only disappointment was that when I booked my reservation , sharing my special occasion w/ open table, this information was not shared to the restaurant, therefore they did not know I was celebrating my 62nd birthday, until I told them. They did send over a. Birthday dessert, after I told them it was my birthday. Otherwise, we loved the experience & would go back.

The restaurant offers a unique twist on island cuisine, creatively incorporating local ingredients. However, the seasoning lacks finesse and simply didn't hit the mark for me. There was an excessive use of salt which detracted from the overall taste.

Wonderful evening at Merriman’s in Waimea. We were celebrating our 30 year Anniversary . Our server greeted us with a warm inviting smile and 2 glasses of Prosecco to cheers to our special day. She was very hospitable and very knowledgeable of the food offerings helping us to make the perfect selections for our meal. Each dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious !! Hands down the best meal of our stay on the Big Island. We had the Kalua pork quesadillas, Poke , bulgogi style shrimp and octopus in the style of escargot. Each dish was flavorful , just perfectly seasoned . Best Poke of our stay . Inventive preparations too. A must try when on the Big Island

Best restaurant on the Big Island! Everything we had was absolutely delicious. Their signature Mai Tai is a must try. Although they serve dinner on a prix fixe basis only, it is a tremendous value. Almost too much food. All the staff was warm and welcoming. Looking forward to the next visit!

Have been going to Manua Lani for years and had heard very good things about Merriman's up in Wamea. Finally made it up there and was blow away by the food and the service. Highly recommend this place. Not cheap for sure, food and the service are better than anywhere else we have eaten on the Island.

This place was okay overall. The food wasn’t star striking, not worth the price. I ordered the steak medium rare and received it medium well. The string bean side was very underwhelming and lacked flavor. The lilikoi mousse was delicious, and so were the jalapeño cream mashed potatoes.

Amazing food and drinks. Service was great. I loved the Kailua Pork Quesadilla appetizer. Hands down the best quesadilla I’ve ever had. I also loved the Lillikoi Margarita. A memorable dinner.

Wonderful evening dinner in a comfortable nicely curated dining environment. We really enjoyed the taro hummus and bread service at the start of the meal. The food overall was very good with one fish dish being a little over cooked. Service was outstanding making the dinner a very pleasant experience.

I ordered eggs Benedict and when my food arrived, our server delivered Benedict Pork Hash. She said no Eggs Benedict today. I would have appreciated that info first so I could have ordered something else. My husband’s entree was great. I didn’t want pork hash. I felt awkward refusing it as my husband’s food was delivered at the same time.

We had a lovely evening at Merriman’s in Waimea. Our waiter Kurt was very professional and made us feel special while looking after us. The prices are quite expensive but the service was exceptional and food was great. The meals are substantial so make sure you are hungry and don’t have a big meal in the middle of the day if coming for dinner. We had pork quesadillas for starters and they were quite spicy for the younger members of our family but were nice for adults and Caesar salad was ok. For the main course we had steak tenderloin which was lovely and also fish. If serving a child Jalapeño mash might be better if replaced with plain mash. With fish, we preferred the macadamia nut crusted fish than the catch of the day which comprised of 3 different fish. For dessert we had chocolate purse. This dessert is very dark chocolatey and rich but balanced nicely with vanilla ice cream. Perhaps a bigger scoop of ice cream would be nice to last for the whole chocolate purse. We also had the bread pudding. I loved that dessert. Was not too sweet and balanced out nicely with vanilla ice cream. All in all we had a great time tasting some nice local fresh food and a lovely table near the window. Special thanks to Kurt for making our night special. We would recommend this place to friends and family.

Wonderful food and service. We had a super tasty burger, fish sandwich, and Caesar salad for lunch. Beer and wine for beverages. For desert we had a special macadamia nut cake, ice cream, and chocolate sauce combination. Fantastic. Great experience. After lunch we shopped around in Waimea which is a charming town. Enjoy.

I ordered the tenderloin. Everything on my plate was lukewarm at best. The steak was ordered medium. It came very well done. My first course was great. We have enjoyed your place many times. Disappointed in our experience yesterday. Just being honest.

The cost of fine dining in Hawaii has gotten out of hand with the exception of Merriman's. The food is unbelievably tasty and of the finest ingredients. Nonetheless, the price is very affordable especially in comparison to other exceptional farm to table establishments. By far our favorite restaurant on the Big Island. It's a can't miss opportunity.

Waimea offers several very good dining opportunities ….Merrimans came recommended for lunch, rather than dinner, but we found the noise level quite disturbing to our hoping to visit - almost shouting to hear each other. The food was good, not exceptional . The server was excellent and very attentive, but definitely would not recommend Merrimans over some of the other places to eat in that area !
