    We had a wonderful first visit to this restaurant! Our waiter, Eduardo, noticed that it was my birthday next week when he checked our ID’s and he surprised me at the end of the meal with a birthday dessert and candle! I would highly recommend Mi Vida for anyone looking for a fun evening by The Wharf!

    Sat on the top floor and it was the LOUDEST restaurant I’ve ever been to. My group of 5 could not hear a word we said. I also really wanted a chicken quesadilla and when I ordered a kid’s one, the waiter said “kids menu is for kids. Not adults.” I asked for an “adult version” and he said it’s only on the lunch menu, not available for dinner. I get that I’m not 11 years old, but make me a quesadilla and charge me whatever you want. I ended up getting chicken tacos and they were pretty average.

    Beautiful location in the heart of DC action. Servers were attentive without being annoying. Food was all delicious and the margaritas were top notch. Highly recommended.

    I got the mushroom tacos and they were horrible. They didn’t taste good and the tortillas were soggy and falling apart. Also you have to sit at the bar to get the happy hour special which it doesn’t say on the menu or website. The service was fine. We were sat on the second floor and they didn’t ask if that was okay. If I would have known the steps were so steep I would’ve asked to sit down stair because I have chronic health/mobility issues. On a positive note, my friend got the poncha de Lola and I tried some and it was really good.

    Great dinner! We sat upstairs on the balcony and had great food, wonderful drinks, and a flight of fabulous margaritas. Highly recommend!!

    Some of the best Mexican food I've eaten in DC: fresh, good portions, beautifully presented. Staff is well-trained and professional. Great place to eat while visiting the wharf.

    The food here is great authentic Mexican and the wait persons are proud and eager to describe any dish and make suggestions. The atmosphere is wonderful—beautiful decor, friendly staff and delicious food. I’m a local and love the happy hour margaritas. Also this is one of my favorite places to bring out of towers to enjoy the food and the wharf experience.

    Fausto was a WONDERFUL server for us!! He was attentive and so patient (we had a big group) and he was so very kind - would love to come back and have him again! The food was DELICIOUS, as always. The only downside was the manager who was on duty the day my group visited (Thursday, 9/7) - she was not at all helpful for our group & was a poor reflection on Mi Vida - an otherwise GREAT restaurant!

    Our food was just ok. Hubby had enchiladas. They were lukewarm. No sides or chips. I had a salmon dish. Salmon was ok, but the side was bland-some kinda chopped zuchini and corn in sauce. Not much flavor. Mine was lukewarm as well. We sat outside on busy day. The service was as expected. For the prices, it was not as good as expected.

    We were there to celebrate my son's birthday, from the beginning everything started badly with the embittered waiter who served us. He had a horrible attitude, he refused to take what we asked for, I had to speak twice with the manager, the food was cold and a little late. disaster. By the way, the waiter's name is Pablo, run away if it's your turn as a waiter

    When making a reservation make sure you add “inside table” as this restaurant doesn’t indicate the type of table (unlike most other restaurants) when you place a reservation. Not a great experience with the front desk — had to remind them I was still waiting for a table just as they were going to seat another group at an inside table that just walked in after I was waiting quite sometime for one. Our waiter was terrific. Guacamole and desserts were as well. All of the Meals were so so and lukewarm. Acoustically wise, This is a very loud restaurant-don’t go here if you are planning to have a quiet meal with friends.
