The resturant decor was nice and the front staff were friendly when we arrived. They were fantastic at accommodating allergies but forgot to bring someone's drink at the table. The food was underwhelming considering the descriptions on the menu and the prices charged. While I was going to give them the benefit of the doubt due to the allergies it seemed like the whole table shared the same opinion regarding the food. The cocktails that were served did seem unique and were delicious. The wagu sushi is the only thing the table agreed was prepared well. Overall: Great ingredients in the dishes themselves but it seemed like there was something missing, and it did not justify the price paid.

Food was amazing! Every bite was exquisite. I was there during TIFF so maybe not the norm but, front desk staff could be more attentive - no one makes eye contact until you call for their attention. I stood there waiting to check/in for my reservation for a while. My server was efficient (keeping us on time for our screening), knowledgeable about the menu, and made great recommendations; other servers we called on when ours was unavailable, were less helpful.

The decor and service was great. What we didn't enjoy was being seated by the door so each time a wait staff member woukd enter/exit for patio service, we'd get a gust of cold air. We've tried the tasting menu for the two of us; although presentation was great, the flavour and overall impression of fell a bit flat of the $100 price tag. Nothing inherently wrong with the food, it was adequate by all metrics. But that's just it; adequate. Nothing really to impress or make us wanting more. Add that to the price tag and it does feel a bit overpriced for what it is. Maybe the a la carte menu may be a better fit for next time.

Restaurant has a nice atmosphere. The waiter, Jordan, was attentive and polite. The food was very tasty. We like Minami Roll, it was delicious. Will come back again and try other food.

This was great experience for a first time visit. I am accustomed to dining on asian food and have come across a wide variety of dishes within this culture. With that said, I anticipated that I would be tasting flavours that weren't exactly new to me, however, I was happy to say that I was proven wrong. Some of the dishes included flavours and ingredients that were unexpected, such as including jalapeno in sushi, but didn't detract from the dish at all. You still had the fundamental idea of what you were eating. Service was great. The amount of time elapsed between dishes could be a tad more efficient. Our server Dale (hopefully I got the spelling correct) conducted himself in a friendly manner, answered our questions in a forthright manner, and made the experience very relaxed and enjoyable. Definitely worth visiting again in the future.

We chose Minami on a whim since we’re not from town and were blown away but the outstanding service, quality food and overall top notch experience. Miles was our server and was a specific standout, showing in depth knowledge of the menu, being extremely accommodating while never being intrusive and generally just helping make the experience that much more unique. Will definitely be recommending this place to anyone seeking a perfect example of fine dining.

Started with gyoza which was good, and oysters 3 ways (I wish they offered the aburi oysters on its own. Delicious!). Then aburi salmon is a classic, minami roll is great as always. Also had the miso x caramel x espresso drink which was delicious. The portion sizes were just right for a group of 4.

We had an amazing experience at Minami! We tried the chef's tasting menu which came with a three-item appetizer, sushi, wagu beef entree, and dessert. With every single bite, I was met with wonderfully unique flavours. The service was also excellent - we were greeted warmly at the door by the hostess and our server was attentive, polite, and took time to explain each dish which I greatly appreciated. They also made sure that the birthday boy in our party was given his dessert with a candle in it and a chocolate saying 'happy birthday' - such a thoughtful and nice touch. The ambience is also beautiful. Overall, a wonderful place to spend a special night out. Loved every minute of my time here! I highly recommend Minami.

Had an excellent experience for my first time at Minami. We had the tasting menu and drink pairings. Wonderful meal from start to finish. The salmon crudo was actually one of my favourites the whole meal. It was an understated salmon flavour while being way more creamy and a little lighter from the crudo. The wagyu and eggplant was incredible as well. The service excellent. We had a terrible experience at Muni Robota where everything came out insanely quickly, before we even finished in some cases and the servers did not even know what they were presenting. Here, the server was super friendly and knowledgeable about what we were having, and answered questions I had about the meal. The pacing was perfect. As soon as we were finishing up our drinks and ready for the next dish, it was already there. The total time was 2 hrs but it did not feel like it. The meal was perfectly paced.

Had the tasting menu. Great combination of ingredients, well portioned. Wine accompaniment is too pricey in comparison to cost of tasting menu (40%). Wagyu was too fatty on the main and timing could have been spaced so experience lasts longer than an hour. Great tasting food!
