    Had a lovely dining experience at Minami this weekend. The service was exceptional and our server was highly attentive. We also loved how each staff member was incredibly knowledgeable and very personable. Kudos to the cooks in the kitchen. The food was superb. I can't wait to come back and try the keiseki for dinner service. I would also like to thank the staff who continuously was refilling our water and was lightning fast when we dropped many chopsticks throughout our dining experience. Minami's team never missed a beat.

    Came here to celebrate a friends birthday and both the hostess and server acknowledged the special event. Our server Shintaro definitely made our night better by consistently providing amazing service. Not only was he always checking up on us he even offered countless of times to take pictures for our table. The food portion wise was great and fresh. Presentation was impeccable along with the ambiance. As it was a birthday celebration we also received a complimentary birthday cheese tart which was fantastic. Definitely would come back as both service and food was unforgettable.

    The Mothers's Day tasting menu provided a wonderful tour of the restaurant's capabilities. Wow! Fabulous experience and highly recommend ordering something new - each item was spectacular!

    My boyfriend and I went here for dinner last night to celebrate our anniversary, and are already making plans to come back! Minami is such a wonderful restaurant (ambience/decor, service, food of course!!), and honestly some of the best sushi we've ever had in Toronto. Would highly recommend.

    wow, what a creative menu, although we thought that the tasting menu was a bit too pricey. It would have been great to have topped off the meal with either a good Japanese tea or coffee, which neither are offered.

    I dont write reviews often but, as a lover of quality sushi, this place did not meet my expectations. With King st prices, I was expecting quality fish. However, it felt like all-you-can-eat sushi, dressed up with plating techniques to disguise its below-average quality. It's recommended to not have the sushi with soy sauce, but to have it with the sauces on the plate. They were all sweet and overpowered the taste of the fish, showing little understanding for the delicate flavours of each fish. It felt pretentious, and I can't imagine anyone who really knows Japanese food or sushi would find the food matched the prices. Their solo nigiri sushi costs as much as at an omakase place like Yasu... would rather take my money there.

    I expected to find real Japanese cuisine and what was there...sushi, and I make better tasting one at home.. daikon of pink colour, as an added enhancer, and the pink-coloured rice on sushi. As the main course: beef tenderloin of no taste, chicken legs, and sea bass. Is it really what can be called Japanese meal selection at a downtown core? And on top of all - all the food was served at lukewarm temperatures. Pricey and disappointing experience. Just returned from Vancouver and visited Japanese restaurants there - what a difference! Never again go there..

    Minami restaurant was a great place for a upscale dinner prior to an evening out in the theatre district. The food was delightful - especially the Oshi Sushi. The service was prompt, kind, and thoughtful throughout the night, noticing that we were celebrating our Anniversary and wishing us all the best. The tables were close together in the bar area where we sat; however, this did not inhibit our personal enjoyment of this restaurant.

    The Sashimi was not fresh, the food quality was cheap. Our waitress had no patience with our order, interrupted and had no clue about food they served. We had a terrible experience. Will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

    Food is a bit pricey but it's really delicious. All the oshi sushis are great and our server was knowledgeable and gave a good sake pairing for our sushi. The manager (Maria I think was her name) also checked up on us from time to time. She is very friendly and so was the entire staff.
