Menu is very limited. Food was not the greatest for its price. The place was super packed and noisy. Also it was very hot inside. The tuna roll was the worst I’ve ever tried (imagine canned tuna inside the roll)

The venue is quite beautiful and impressively decorated, just across from Roy Thomson Hall and the theatres with musicals. This is the latest Miku outpost here in Toronto and what many people may not realize is that their Yorkdale-located restaurant which is much more casual, called Tora, has the same food at roughly half the price. The fish as far as we can tell is identical in flavour and the aburi oshi is done exactly the same way. The sukiyaki at Minami is slightly better (stock is more refined) but more expensive than Tora's and the latter actually has a wagyu sukiyaki which is well worth trying. There was no dish that was shockingly good, contrary to the experience we had at the Vancouver Miku years ago in the past. Of course, it seems silly nowadays to complain that all the dishes are tiny for what you're paying, but it's useful to know that Tora at Yorkdale is very similar. After a while we decided to 'cut our losses,' left hungry and had a late night snack elsewhere. Service was spotty with the usual experiences of late of presumably novice servers, we didn't get soy sauce, wasabi, or ginger and had to ask for these, etc.

The lunch menu does not have a lot of choices which imo is very good. That means the restaurant is focused on delivering what they do best. We were very content and happy after lunch!

We had a great evening at Minami. Sloan, our server, was extremely helpful in walking us through the menu and her suggestions were all excellent. The sauteed wild mushrooms are not to be missed but everything from openers through dessert (Japanese Cheese Tart was a standout) was fantastic. The service level (Sloan once again) was exceptional; attentive without being intrusive; the manager checking in with us after the meal was a nice touch as well. Thank you for a great start to our night out in the city.

Besides the excellent food and our VERY helpful and knowledgeable server, it wasn’t so noisy that we could not carry on a conversation at our table. I am a ‘young’ senior and am finding I can’t/won’t go to so many restaurants now as I just can’t hear the people I’m with. I have also been told that I don’t need hearing aids either. So I thank you for a most enjoyable evening!!!

My date and I came for the chef's tasting menu and enjoyed every bite! The staff were great at being attentive to our requests, sharing information about the dishes and timely with the courses. Would definitely recommend for date night!

What a great place! We had a 3 course dinner with the sushi to start (absolutely delicious), Wagyu for main (small portion but very tasty) and taro ice cream for dessert (yum!) On top of that part of our 3 course meal included wine pairings with each course and they paired very well. We got this deal on Travelzoo. Server was attentive. Music was wonderful. Decor was really amazing. My husband even made many comments about how everything was well thought out. It was quiet due to it being a Monday night but I can imagine that on weekends, it is full! If you are looking for gourmet dishes that are super tasty and aren't overly hungry, great ambiance and lovely service then do not hesitate! I 100% recommend!

We came for lunch and had a great time. Ordered sushi, sashimi, sukiyaki lunch set, and the chicken lunch set. Food was great. The sashimi at $33 for 9 pcs was not the best value though.

I went her for my birthday dinner and it was very yummy and filling. My table of four all bought one entree and then sushi on the side. The sushi was amazing and all the food melted in our mouths! The ambience is nice, it’s a more business scene not too loud and the music isn’t blaring like at Dasha for example. If you want more of a fun vibe with friends would go to Dasha (another Japanese restaurant). If you are okay with a nice chill vibe with nice ambience lighting for either a dinner date or a just a nice time with family I would recommend Minami. The staff were super sweet and patient. I wouldn’t say kid friendly either but amazing for mature individuals.

The miso cod was very nice. I didnt really like the sushi as i dont like the meat minced. But overall we had a wonderful evening.

Beautiful space with great service. A bit of a wait for our table despite reservation but overall wait worth it. Food was amazing and every dish so delicious. The charred broccoli was so good!

The sablefish was cooked perfectly, as were the broccolini and mushrooms. The short ribs were on the dry side; would not order again. Ebi Oshi and Chocolate cake were under-whelming.

In town from Vancouver to visit my daughter who is at U of T. Perfect place to gather with relatives and enjoy a fantastic dinner at one of our favorite Vancouver restaurants. Everything was perfect and the staff at Minami Toronto didn't disappoint.

Was suggested Minami for dinner with close friends. Did not disappoint! Food and service was amazing. Our server Dale was exceptional, made sure everyone was taken care of!
