This is probably one of the best place to have a Tasting menu. The chief is so inventive and mixes up different ingredient that you would not thing go together but it works. The four of us had an epicurian delight

The owner and chef, who also served us, clearly loves his profession and is very knowledgeable about locally sourced ingredients. He was happy to answer all of our questions, and to suggest artisanal places to visit.

My wife and I were referred to Minton over dinner last night by strangers seated next to us. We feel so lucky and grateful to have dined here this evening.
Chef Simon cares deeply about his craft. It is plain to see that he is financially and emotionally fully invested in this restaurant. The exterior of the house is charming and the interior has been refinished to casual elegance.
The service (this evening offered by Simon and his father) is pitch perfect; unpretentious, but informative and proud without a hint of snobbery.
And the food is fresh, beautifully prepared, and presented artfully. The menu may change up to three times weekly. A walk in couple was declined, because Simon procures the ingredients necessary to serve his patrons on the day of the meal.
Reserve, and enjoy a magnificent experience from arrival to reluctant departure.
A Fantastic meal. The flavor combinations were extraordinary. I had been to several Michelin Star Resturants when I was in the UK last month and Minton is in that caliber. This is a dining experience not to be missed.

Superbe découverte! Nous y sommes allé pour le brunch un dimanche. Nous étions les seuls dans le restaurant (deux autres tables venaient de partir), et avons pu discuter ingrédients, clientèle, saveurs, etc. avec le très sympathique Simon, qui dégage une passion pour son métier et pour les producteurs locaux. La tartelette à la fleur d'ail était non seulement belle à voir, elle était simplement délicieuse, mêlant textures et goût avec habileté. Les œufs en plat principal étaient cuits à la perfection; on était loin de la douzaine d'œufs commerciale disponible en grande surface. Pour le dessert, nous avons opté pour le cheesecake, d'une légèreté soyeuse, accompagné d'une crème fouettée faite à base de crème de vaches Jersey. Divin. Nous y retournerons sans aucun doute, pour découvrir le menu du soir. Adresse incontournable dans les Cantons.

We visited on a quiet Thursday evening and were one of two couples dining...that's all. However we felt involved, respected, and the dining room had a lovely warm ambiance so one didn't feel that you were left sitting for hours.
Where to start well....Simon the chef/owner took time to explain to a couple of Vermont based Brits what/when/why and how...and then he produced a terrific supper. He cares, he's got a style of presentation that's been honed in larger operations, BUT he can now individually bring clients along for the ride.
It could bo so up it's own posterior....but it is NOT!
His sous vide egg dish starts the proceeding off and then we had a brilliant selection of dishes. pointless really to say what as everything is seasonal and cooked fresh.
All we know is that for $69.00 pp a four course delight was produced and we felt VERY HAPPY!
So don't hesitate to book..
An exceptional food experience from the chef to presentation and ingredients from local producers. This will remain our top food memory for some time

We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience at Minton. The attention to detail in the service , and reliance on local producers, is really impressive. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared to reflect the quality of the ingredients, and the menu is very creative and non-stuffy. The wine list is small but represents excellent quality. It was a wonderful meal in a comfortable environment. Highly recommended.
We stayed at Manoir Hovey for several days and wanted to try a different dinner venue. Minton, in the exceptional hands of Simon, chef extraordinaire, was truly an amazing gastronomic experience.
We are vegetarian and pescatarian and Simon created a unique tasting menu for us. Each bite of every dish was exploding with taste, texture and flavor. We will be dreaming about our meal for many years to come.

We will long remember the memorable meal and delightful evening at Minton. We’re glad we decided to try this new restaurant (opened July 2018) that had few reviews. My husband and I had the four-course tasting menu and loved every course. The flavors were exceptionally intense and the unusual combinations worked very well. We enjoyed our conversations with the chef, Simon, who explained each course, and with the maitre d’ who was very welcoming. The wine list was small and well chosen. We had an extremely good Sancerre and were able to take the unfinished bottle back to our auberge. The restaurant is in an old house, with a few tables in each of three rooms. It is elegant and attractive but not formal. Altogether, this was one of the best meals we’ve had in North America or Europe.

Exceptional new restaurant. Food was innovative and really great. The experience of this young chef having worked in many excellent restaurants really shines. The service was very attentive and charming. I cannot recommended enough. This restaurant favorably compare and even surpasses the previous restaurant in that location which was also a gem.

Taking farm to table to a delightful extreme. Wonderful sauces enhance each bite and the apple dessert was exquisite. The chef is clearly committed to his craft and takes pride in each aspect of the meal.
