Did the YYC dining experience. Food was great, the dessert was a bit too sweet and bitter but overall, it was pleasant menu!
Great casual dining atmosphere with AMAZING dim sum dishes, perfect for a fun shared dining experience with amazingly flavoursome dishes!
Food was not that great. The cocktails were good though .
Our servers were fantastic, helped with the specials, and were very friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back
Our server was the only one working (bartending and serving all the tables) and she did a fantastic job. We got everything in a timely manor and all the tables around us seemed happy too. Very impressed by the service.
The food is amazing and the atmosphere is great. We came as a large party for a birthday and our server was awesome! He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Can’t wait to come back =)
Great flavours, and great service everything we ordered tasted fantastic!
Service and food were both great
Not worth the hype. The drinks were good but the food was mediocre and the service was slow. There are so many amazing restaurants in Calgary that I won’t bother going back.
Amazing food. Attentive service. Only down side is the tables are very close together and we asked for a low regular table and got a high top.
Stopped in for dim sum before a flames game... amazing wings and dumplings!
Food was awful and overpriced
Our server was excellent, and when our food was very slow to come out he stayed on top of it with the kitchen, and comped us some drinks for our wait. Enjoyed the service and the setting! The food however was underwhelming. The spare ribs were extremely chewy (no better than what you’d get at all you can eat Korean bbq and I tasted none of the glaze they described), the bao was good but not very exciting, the chicken lettuce wraps had two small pieces of chicken in the whole bowl and was essentially just noodles and soy sauce (we barely touched them because it was so bad), the octopus tacos were really good and were definitely the highlight. The drinks were good, though the same drink ordered twice came out very inconsistent...almost unrecognizable as the same drink. The prices were reasonable.
Booked a reservation for Valentine’s Day. We show up for the reso and the girl at the front says ”ok you have 1.5 hours and you will get your receipt 10 minutes before”. It would have been valuable information to know we had said time slots to eat especially considering the service was extremely slow we didn’t get to try everything we wanted. Overall my boyfriend and I had a fine experience, the was good, however, would not recommend due to the poor service and not warm welcome off the get-go.
Disappointing. Food was nowhere as good as we thought it would be. Tenderloin was impossibly tough, as were the short ribs. Potstickers and Pork Belly Bao were good, but not enough to save the meal. Wouldn’t return.
I am not going to lie. The restaurant/bar looked good and we liked the atmosphere at the first time. It was Valentines day. We had Valentine special 5 course dinner. The foods were not served in appropriate amount of time. For example afte the appetizer, we had to wait 25 minutes for a bowl of salad, and another 30 minutes for the next one. Furthermore, they forgot to serve the bread and mushroom which should be served before the main. Also our next table came later than us, started after us, but they finished the 5 course earlier than us. The attendants never filled our water, so I had to try to catch any server who passed round as to ask more water 3 times. So, we were very hungry while we were stay, very unpleasant to see that only the next table to be served the food on time, and desperate for the water all the time. No one ask about how we are doing or how is the food. Even I spent $100 for the course, we were still hungry after the 5 meal, so that we had to go another restaurant after that. Surprisingly, we are small eaters who need to ask to go box for the left over most of time.
I talked to the manager of the restaurant about the experience, and he apologize to us, and gave a coupon for next visit. We are very appreciate for him, since we are heard and card. I will visit them one more time, and give them another shot. However the first experience on the Valentines day was pretty disappointing. I will leave another review after the second visit.
Our server handled our group perfectly and took care of us really well. Food was also great!
Mister Chen's is awesome! Didn't have to touch the condiments on the table at all cause everything had seasoning on point. Great ambience and good music. Service was perfect as well. Can't fault this place.
Food and service was great! First time here and really enjoyed it. The chicken potstickers were great.
Met friends for dinner and it was like they forgot about the reservation we made. Had to wait for a table, then we got seated beside a section that was obviously reserved for a large party of 35-45 people. Super noisy and couldn’t hear our conversation. Very disappointing as this was our second time there but they seated us by accident because it seemed like they didn’t have a table for our reservation.
Fantastic menu with unique food and flavour combinations! Everything was delicious, highly recommend.
Fun atmosphere! Great service :)
Awesome! Great food as always.
I’ve been to Mister Chen’s a couple time’s but the new menu is by far the most impressive. Everyone is looking for a deal; the “happy hour specials” or “taco Tuesday’s” when this menu is a deal 24/7 AND on top of their killer prices they also have daily specials. They’re so on trend with what Calgary is asking for. Great food for a great price!
We came to Mister Chen's for our anniversary, and the night was absolutely amazing! The servers were super knowledgeable about the new menu, and one of the staff recognized us from our previous visit as well. Our server was also kind enough to offer us free sparkling wine for the occasion. We had an exceptionally delicious meal, trying four new dishes we hadn't had before, and each dish was even better than the last. We felt super welcomed, had an amazing time trying new dishes and delicious drinks, and left super satisfied. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to have a delicious meal in a welcoming space.
First time here, the food was good. The music was horrible, they were blasting rap music was an insane amount of swear words. It was awkward as we were with my husbands aunt. All the dishes we had were goo except the soupy dumping's. We love them and were really excited and then really disappointed. They were bland and actually luke warm. Our server was unbelievably good, he described everything so well and was so attentive. Over all the food was really nice and the restaurant itself is beautiful. I would definitely change the music. The rap music doesn't go with the décor.
We had a great meal and great service at Mister Chan. Their new menu is awesome and everything we had was excellent, especially the brussel sprouts and beef and broccoli.
We went on dumpling day and we got to try some of our favorites and some new ones we have never tried before! The soup dumplings are great!
The cocktails are great.. we had a smoked old fashioned which literally came with a bottle of smoke! It was a cool experience.
Great food - lively and energetic. Better for groups than for a date.
Cody and the team at Mister Chen's make every visit unforgettable. Great service, amazing food and very nice atmosphere. We will definitely come again.
Food was average - good drinks however slightly overpriced. Good service.
Fantastic foood and fabulous service. Our server made a smoked Whisky cocktail that was amazing.
We had a reservation for new years' dining. There was a set 7-course menu. One of the main courses was never provided. The reservation was at 7:30 and we were finally out of there at 11:00. The service was slow and seemed unorganized.
Great atmosphere awesome food and service. Highly recommended!
Great service and ambience.
Came here for my husband's birthday.
Ordered the pork belly skewers, beef tartare, scallop sashimi, and stir fried shrimps.
We got lamb skewers instead of pork belly, my husband didn't mind and didn't want to make a fuss so he finished them. I don't like lamb so I had a bite and left it at that. The scallops lacked flavour: yes it was spicy (as described) but felt like it was missing some seasoning. The stir fried shrimps and beef tartare were best but nothing outstanding. I got a cocktail that was really good. We wouldn't choose to come back but if someone proposed it, we wouldn't mind.
Since it was my husband's birthday, they offered a complimentary dessert which was very appreciated. The service was very good but just lacking in the food department.
Great atmosphere, Great food and Great service! Yummy “All You Can Eat Baos” on Mondays :))
Came on a Thursday night and service was amazing! The food was good - we ordered the Mushroom Wontons, Brussels Sprouts, and the Sriracha Shrimp. Although the food was tasty, it was overpriced for what we got. Three dishes with a tip came to 70 dollars, and the wontons were tiny. The shrimp dish came with maybe 6 shrimp, and the rest consisted of an unnecessary amount of pea pods and water chestnuts... not much substance. Average experience overall.
Service is slow but the food is very worth the wait. The dishes are impeccable and very tasty. The specials offered for each day are quite cost saving and entice customers to return. I'd definitely recommend it to all my friends.
Didn't receive appetizers after 40 minutes of waiting, saw other tables which sat and ordered after our party recieve food first, no update or communication from wait staff. Pretty disappointed.
