Great food - lively and energetic. Better for groups than for a date.
Cody and the team at Mister Chen's make every visit unforgettable. Great service, amazing food and very nice atmosphere. We will definitely come again.
Food was average - good drinks however slightly overpriced. Good service.
Fantastic foood and fabulous service. Our server made a smoked Whisky cocktail that was amazing.
We had a reservation for new years' dining. There was a set 7-course menu. One of the main courses was never provided. The reservation was at 7:30 and we were finally out of there at 11:00. The service was slow and seemed unorganized.
Great atmosphere awesome food and service. Highly recommended!
Great service and ambience.
Came here for my husband's birthday.
Ordered the pork belly skewers, beef tartare, scallop sashimi, and stir fried shrimps.
We got lamb skewers instead of pork belly, my husband didn't mind and didn't want to make a fuss so he finished them. I don't like lamb so I had a bite and left it at that. The scallops lacked flavour: yes it was spicy (as described) but felt like it was missing some seasoning. The stir fried shrimps and beef tartare were best but nothing outstanding. I got a cocktail that was really good. We wouldn't choose to come back but if someone proposed it, we wouldn't mind.
Since it was my husband's birthday, they offered a complimentary dessert which was very appreciated. The service was very good but just lacking in the food department.
Great atmosphere, Great food and Great service! Yummy “All You Can Eat Baos” on Mondays :))
Came on a Thursday night and service was amazing! The food was good - we ordered the Mushroom Wontons, Brussels Sprouts, and the Sriracha Shrimp. Although the food was tasty, it was overpriced for what we got. Three dishes with a tip came to 70 dollars, and the wontons were tiny. The shrimp dish came with maybe 6 shrimp, and the rest consisted of an unnecessary amount of pea pods and water chestnuts... not much substance. Average experience overall.
Service is slow but the food is very worth the wait. The dishes are impeccable and very tasty. The specials offered for each day are quite cost saving and entice customers to return. I'd definitely recommend it to all my friends.
Didn't receive appetizers after 40 minutes of waiting, saw other tables which sat and ordered after our party recieve food first, no update or communication from wait staff. Pretty disappointed.
Fantastic bartenders and amazing food! Great atmosphere...will definitely be back soon!
Awesome. Order the Old Fashioned. Will go again for sure.
We had a triple date night here on a Saturday night and it was a really good time! Great service, great food, fun 90's/00's throwback tunes and a really cool vibe. We will definitely go back!
First time here, we really enjoyed it. Great ambiance and energy. The room is beautiful and fun, with the cartoon vision of Chinese decor, red light, its like a little '70s movie set. It makes no claim to authenticity, but is cheeky and non PC in all the right ways.
Same with the menu, it is chef's own interpretations. Delicious in its own way, without constraints. The scallop sashimi paired with radish is a winner, without trying to be Japanese. The duck, while served with crepes, is not Peking. It is perfectly rare duck breast and roasted leg that would be perfectly at home in a french restaurant. The XLB, while not made in house, was the only thing we had that was exactly as we expected. And yummy too.
Kitchy drinks, smoke infused and more, just added to the fun.
We liked it, and want to try the rest of the menu, especially the dumplings and noodles....
Did not have one person acknowledge us after being seated for 20 min so we left.
Service issues...our first server did not follow up in a timely way to take our order, even though we explained we had a concert and were on a timeline. I ordered a starter only to be told well after the order was placed that they were out of lamb. Frustrating! Starters for our table of 4 did not arrive together. The second server who took over was unfamiliar with the wine list and not only was unable to make recommendations, but could not answer straightforward questions about the wines.
Quality of food was good, but unfortunately, our experience was tainted by the service issues. A more thoughtful and pro-active acknowledgement of the service missteps would have gone a long way. I'm not likely to return to Mister Chen's.
Food was amazing and so was the service. We will be back!
Presentation, ambiance, and service were amazing. Food lacked flavour. Bao was overwhelmingly acidic with a bland bun and very mild pork belly. Shu Mai was bland. Tartare was on-point for an Asian spin on the dish, just didn’t like how saucy it was. Clearly you guys are doing something right though, because the place was bumpin’! Maybe just my own preferences...
We took advantage of the Sunday dim sum specials and enjoyed the unique cocktails that had yet to make it to the menu. They were all amazing! I can't wait to return and sample more.
Great experience and our waitress was fantastic!!
We made a reservation through OpenTable, but when we showed up, Mister Chen's Asian Brasserie was closed. The music playing outside is usually pretty good though, and the menu looked mint, so I'll assume 5 stars until proven otherwise.
The food comes in small portions, served luke warm or cold. The temperature is not on purpose as the texture of the wings seemed like they had been sitting as they were more than moist saturated in the cold sauce. The server forgot our main course order. We left unsatisfied, hungry, and disappointed. Not even the drinks were worth the money. They tasted like crap and were only presented well.
Great food and service. Ordered the Scallop Sashimi, Tuna tataki, Japanese street noodles, soup dumplings and the beef tartare. Also got the matcha creme brûlée and the chinese doughnuts. Every dish was great with alot of flavor. A few of us also got some of their craft cocktails and were delicious (I pearly know you and i’ill have another). Taylor was our server, she gave us great recommendations and we never had to wait for drinks!
Everything was great but especially Simon was lights out as our server.
Out of the 6 dishes we ordered to share, I enjoyed 2 of them. Some of the dishes we didn't even end up finishing as they were that disappointing. Wouldn't go back for the food. Maybe would for a cocktail and the atmosphere.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Mister Chen’s. The service we received was well above average and our server was able to very competently explain our dining experience. Both his knowledge of the food and drink menu were first class and the passion he had was immensely evident! The food was everything promised and was so delicious!
It was everything I expected. The food was delicious the atmosphere and music was perfect. Our server was very versed with the menu and the people that collected here were eclectic and fun.
Not sure you should go there if you strictly want Chinese food. much better elsewhere. From my observation more for the ambiance
The food and cocktails were excellent. Waiters and bartenders were really nice. We would definitely go back.
What an amazing experience! We were welcomed warmly and treated with exceptional service at this location. The food was top-notch, and we were even treated on the house because we mentioned our special occasion. Thanks for a great evening.
Everything we tried was excellent. A little slow getting all the sushi (salmon) out to us, but for that good of quality sometimes it’s better to wait.
Great vegetarian options, very unique.
Unfortunately service was very slow. The food was all right we wished it had all come out at the same time. The food was very staggered some dishes were cold by the time they came out. And found the music to be very loud.
I had been there previously, I wrote a review on OpenTable with my experience. It was not good review, especially on the service. The owner of Mister Chen took my comments very seriously. He (Shaun) wanted to make things right. He invited me and my husband back. It was a very good experience this time round. I appreciate that my feedback was not ignored. I loved the new menu, there is even more vegetarian and vegan options.
All in all a good experience at Chen’s. One small issue and the restaurant managers dealt with it very well. Food was great, cocktails just excellent. Just a couple small details.... plates and cutlery should have been switched out after our beginning courses. We had 2 raw plates and a bit off eating a $60 ribeye off a plate that had raw food on it. Also my water glass was cleaned up before I was done then had to ask for another. Not a big deal but I feel these are details that could have been better. Server was very nice and atmosphere and music great! Will be back again thanks for a good night!
Food was great! Decent price! Would go back again !
Shaun went above and beyond to make as feel welcomed! The dumplings were really delicious
