Be prepared to spend a lot of money. Food quality is great, but even without alcohol or special drinks dinner for two is going to set you back $90 or more.
Food was cold especially the potatoes. Drinks were pricey
The server did a really good job! The food as whole was good. However, the shrimp provided with the Shanghai seafood sampler was quite small compare to normal.
The fish was spoiled but everything else was good
The food was cold, especially the scampi. Not the Mitchell’s I used to love.
Great quality of food and service. Love the lobster bisque soup!
The service was great, our server was friendly and efficient. The food is good but for the price it is just ok.
Portions are very small. Fish and vegetable saturated in butter, couldn't taste anything but butter.
The food was very good, specialty cocktail was excellent, service was attentive -- but I was not happy to see the staff unmasked, given the close contact that servers and bartenders have with customers.
We wanted to spend the new year in peace and happy with our family! all very well and pleasant atmosphere! happy 2022
Never disappointed, food was great nice service, friendly and attentive
Friendly greeting, choice of table or booth and great food consistently, make Mitchell’s a favorite place to dine. We appreciate the Landry loyalty program. New Year’s Eve reservation a plus, even for two. Very pleasant server too. Quiet enough to enjoy a conversation without speaking loudly.
To be fair, we have been here several times and always look forward to going back...until last night. Yes, it was NYE, but we went early and it wasn't terribly busy. My order was incorrect and when corrected, was over cooked. They did take that part off the bill and, other than comping my whole meal, I don't know what else they could have done (it was a combo meal). The waiter seemed frustrated with the kitchen. My husband's fish was overcooked but, after seeing how long it took to correct my order, he decided to grin and bear it. The scallops my friend ordered were compared to those at a national chain of substandard seafood restaurants. Very disappointing. Hoping it's just the situation of the world with lack of competent staff and shipping issues that made this experience so mediocre.
Decided to try out this place since my family was in the mood for seafood and we were visiting family coming in from out of town (raised locally though). Both entry doors were covered in plywood so maybe unfortunately there was situation there days/weeks prior. Was greeted kindly at hosting desk and our server was very nice and friendly; good table service. Food was a bit to be desired for cost. Surf and turf only came with small (6oz) filet option and only (3) medium sized shrimp. Added lobster tail to the meal for fear of not enough meat. Glad that option was taken but it was a pricey add and not large in size. Temp of food was only warm and not hot. Side substitute came out incorrectly and was addressed & corrected, but came with some wait time. Three entrees were ordered. Two of which were split plate orders. For price point, surprised the kitchen didn't serve split versus having the table split it. Dessert was ordered which was their feature dessert, a sharable. Was told they may not have it then that they did. Wasn't told how long it would take to wait tho. Waited for a bit of time from order to served and if we were forewarned of the wait time we likely would have ordered something else or passed on dessert. Overall the table service was the better item.of our experience for the night, but for where the waiting times, food, and presentation missed the mark, we didn't feel it was worth the price point.
Portions were on the small side for price. Food served “warm” seemed to have sat for some time. One dish not available, another was ordered and prepared incorrectly. Salmon was over cooked and dry. Value wasn’t there. Came for anniversary which was listed at reservation time never acknowledged. Probably won’t go back.
It took an hour to get our food. They said they were sorry but they had over cooked our food and had to start over.
This was a disappointing visit. We've had Christmas dinner a number of times and had great experiences. My sister ordered her fish seared which had clearly not happened when it arrived at the table. As the server did not come back for awhile she decided to just go and eat it. The rest of the meal was good but not great.
Food was great. Our waiter was charming. Always have a wonderful experience there.
Shrimp were overcooked, the batter was dark in color and barley warm. Spicy shrimp entree
Was Luke warm and barley any sauce on them. New server, she tried her best to do a decent job. But at times didn’t check to see if we needed anything. We come every Christmas as a family, but we may have to find somewhere else to go next year. I love good, hot fresh food. And I’m a very patient and understanding person. But our food was not really the best we’ve had.
Food sub par. Fish over cooked (pecan crusted trout and salmon)
Christmas Eve dining. Food was just good...not great. David, our waiter, was great! My sea bass was barely warm.
Server Kaitlin was absolutely stellar! Best service in a very long time, and made great recommendations. Prices are high, ambiance on Christmas Eve was nice, and noise level was decent, we could talk without yelling! Food was good, drinks were better! I would visit again.
Service was excellent, very friendly and efficient. Thank you for a lovely Christmas Eve dinner
We had a great time celebrating the holiday season. As always the food was great and the staff friendly and welcoming. Thanks for a good evening.
Our server, Katelyn (sp?) was excellent, very friendly and helpful. We were there at a time of low occupancy (3:00 pm), so didn't feel endangered by covid, but would have if the place had been crowded. We thought the table spacing was too close to ensure safety from the disease. Otherwise, great food, service and ambience!
It was our 47th anniversary.
This was my family’s Christmas dinner out. The entrees took over an hour to come out, one of the lobster tails was Ill cooked, 2 filets were over cooked. The waiter, who was training a new server, didn’t bring waters or offer to refill my drink.
We were patient, given the shortage of workers, but for a $300 plus meal we expect more.
It was great.
the trout was not fresh..
The food is top notch, and the service is equally impressive. I followed the recommendation of our server, and he did not lead me in the wrong direction. The blackened Chilean Sea Bass is always a winner at Mitchell’s.
Arrived with a party of four a few minutes late and were seated and greeted promptly. Placed an order for a bottle of wine and appetizer. Unfortunately the appetizer, calamari, was of poor quality and taste and after an honest complaint, removed from the bill. The bottle of wine delivered, tasted and delicious. Though we ordered entrees around the time of the arrival of appetizer, the entrees were slow to arrive. However, the clam chowder soup and caesar salad were timely and delicious. The waitress, who was personable, sweet, and responsive, seemed a bit infrequent. Both the sea bass and salmon were delicious as were the sides of mashed red skin potatoes and al dente asparagus. Perhaps it was because of the late hour on Sunday or staffing issues, but service could use a leg up as could our appetizer.
Always great food. Excellent service
Totally enjoyed our Christmas dinner at Mitchell’s. Food and service were incredible!
Great food. The swordfish was spectacular! Our server suggested a great wine. Dessert was great!
Food was very good, but vegetable portion was too small, and price is very high, so value was low overall. Service was good. Atmosphere was good. You can get the same elsewhere for less money.
Poor service. No excuse for it. We were there early in the evening before it was busy. Food was barely warm which was expected since the service was very slow. The food is good but not prepared as well as previous occasions.
Seems like the place is struggling with keeping enough staff like many of the chain restaurant's. Drinks took a long time to get to table and when the food arrived the temperature was low like it was under warmer for a while.
My husband and I normally love to eat here, but this time our seafood was overcooked. My broiled salmon was very crispy on the bottom and the thinnest part of the fish was very dark brown on top. (I didn't eat the super-crispy parts.) My husband's broiled shrimp was overdone as well. In retrospect, we should have sent both entrees back. But we were hungry and the restaurant was very busy, so we just ate them anyway. We both agreed we'd had better meals here in the past. The waiter was great and the price of the meal was great. The complimentary key lime pie was wonderful! We'd still recommend Mitchell's, but our meal was a disappointment this time.
Great food - good service - nice surroundings. Definitely a repeat is due.
Filet Mignon was over cooked, and so was my cod fish. Our appetizers were good. Our server was very attentive, too. For the price, we had higher expectations.
