Mity Nice Bar & Grill
Th waiter was a catastrophe!! H was running around to the point that it was hard to give him an order. He knocked over a tray breaking many glasses and disturbing many customers. He then forgot to put our order into the kitchen after hanging out with "regular" customers I suspect. We were barely able to finish our meal in order to make it to Lookingglass Theater on time. He offered us a free dessert which was clearly impossible given the delay in bringing our entrees. A mess. We have been to Mity Nice many times and this its the first time we have had such an experience. Hopefully it will never happen again.
Nice menu. Reasonable prices, spotty service at times but they are always nice. Not too vegan friendly
The always reliable food brings me back to Mity Nice. The service can be hit and miss. On that night, the bartender and server were our issue. Our drinks took way too long to come. We had to remind our server more than once. I normally don’t complain. So it had to be pretty noticeable for my friends and I to get upset. Aside from that, the food was perfect.
Great place to eat, food is amazing. Have the sticky toffee date cake for dessert.
Mity Nice is one of our favorite local restaurants. There is something for everyone on the menu!
Great for families!
A busy downtown restaurant in Water Tower Plave behind Food Life has propspered for years but now needs to up its game.
The food is prettier in presentation than it is in taste. My companion had tacos, I had chicken pot pie. Both were most attractive and well priced. Neither was anything other than average.
Wait staff moved quickly and accommodated our request to be on time for a nearby theatre, but lacked the charm and professionalism that marks many Lettuce Entertsin zyou establishments.
For the location, I’d rather have dined at Food Life .
I ordered the chicken pot pie and asked for it to be reheated as it was not hot. Even with the reheating, the crust was not fully cooked.
However, the there was no skimping on the chicken and veggies. Very tasty.
Love the Thanksgiving dinner. And they will customize it (change a side, add extra cranberry sauce) at no extra charge. Quiet enough to have a conversation and reasonably priced for such large portions. I always have enough for dinner.
went for lunch on Saturday. only had a brunch menu do not need eggs or waffles at 2 p.m. never had this problem before. not much to chose from. ordered a bourbon drink very anemic. too much ice.
place was mostly empty but service was very slow. burger and salad were good. but not what I had a taste for. disappointed.
One of our favorite restaurants.
Mity Nice is a favorite destination, but unfortunately we were there at the wrong time... again. The popovers were not tasty (and usually we will ask for seconds because they are so gosh darn good)... and I chose to take the bulk of my lunch home so that I could add flavor to it... beyond bland.
Our server is always very good! We shared Sonoma salad, chicken nachos (great deal $8), Salisbury steak Monday special and bacon cheeseburger. Delicious!
I won’t go on and on. But I could. I gave this restaurant 5 stars in every category. We attended the Lakeside Singers concert at 4th Presbyterian Church so I googled restaurants within walking distance. I’m so glad that we accidentally found this little gem. In the food court in Water Tower Place? We’ll be going back frequently and recommending it to our friends.
Excellent Bloody Mary. Perfect place for brunch or dinner before a show at the Broadway Playhouse.
Great as usual!
our waitress was truly awful. My husband ordered a salad to start and then a burger and i ordered the salmon, plain no seasoning and brussel sprouts only. Our meals were served quickly, before my husband ever got his salad. The salmon was covered in seasoning and sauce so the busy boy who brought out our food took it back to the kitchen. our waitress never once came over to ask how things were. After another 5 min, still no salad and my salmon came back again covered in seasoning. So I asked for manager. As the manager came to the table, my husband was half way done with his burger, our waitress suddenly came over to the table with a salad. My husband said he no longer wanted it. She was beyond rude. The manger apologized and took the salmon to have it completely recooked. again our waitress never came back to our table. The manager brought out my new plain salmon. She again apologized and said if we would like desert it was her treat. My husband had already finished his food at this point and both our water glasses were empty. It took three attempts to get someone to fill them. I ate my meal alone. When I finished our waitress came over, dropped the bill on the table and told us to pick a desert and dropped desert menu too. No apology nothing. My husband put money in the bill and we told her no desert. She came back, dropped the change and told us to take our change that she did not want our money and walked away. It was so beyond rude that the man at the table next to us turned around and said he could not believe what he just heard. My husband took the change and walked out and I went to find the manager to tell her that 1. I would never walk into that restaurant again and 2. our waitress was by the worst ever and no matter what her day had been we did not deserve to be treated as poorly as we had been.
Get there early and the entire restaurant is available. Great server with wonderful suggestions for dinner. Food was delicious...every bite. Easy access to shopping, perfect dinner before theater night next door.
Excellent service. Food was good. They have the best French onion soup in the lettuce entertain you group.
I've been going to Mity Nice since it was the Chestnut Street Grill - years. I hadn't been there in a while and we went on Sunday evening because my friend was visiting from Ohio. She was hoping the "Minute Chicken Terri D" was still on the menu - it was. She said it was just as delicious as she remembered. I was surprised to the Garlic Crusted Whitefish was still on the menu - it was. And again, just as delicious as I remembered. They now server popovers instead of bread and they're addictive. You'll fill up on them if you're not careful. The wine selections were good and overall, it was a good meal.
We went on a Sunday night. The mall was closed and there weren't many people there. I think that made a difference in the ambiance. My friend talks loudly and I don't think that would've made a difference when it's busy, but on a Sunday evening, I felt a bit uncomfortable.
So the take away is this...if it's after hours and you want a quiet meal, then go to Mity Nice. If it's after hours and you need a bit of noise to cover your conversation or kids...I'd choose another.
Dependably very good The quality of food exceeds expectations and is priced below expectation
This is one of my favorite restaurants down town! It’s underrated and not as well known as many others but I think it is one of the best! The food is always great, the service is always spectacular and the overall experience is always a good one. I like that it’s sort of hidden in the back-you don’t have to deal with crowds.
Food and service were excellent as always, however we asked for a quiet place so we could hear each other talk and a loud party of 6 with small children were seated right next to us. That made me rush through my lunch so I could get out of there.
Our server went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing experience.
Cute hidden place. We had no idea it was there. Food was good and the prices were appropriate! We’ll be back
Great food! great service! They go above and beyond to serve the customers. Food is delicious! It's my favorite neighborhood restaurant.
Great find hidden away in the food court. It is its own solitary restaurant. Comfortable and not loud. Service was outstanding. We had two beef dishes, the tenderloin special and filet medallions with chimichurri. Both were cooked perfectly. We definitely return.
We were very pleased with the experience especially since we were there with small children. Our waitress was very attentive and made our entire party feel comfortable and welcomed.
Cedar Plank Salmon from the menu said ‘market vegetables’, it arrived with only one vegetable, which were very charred sprouts. Potatoes were extremely greasy and equally over cooked. The glazed salmon was good. Being so disappointed with the main course, opted not to have a desert.
Mity Nice is one of my favourite restaurants due to its impeccable service, great ambiance (including table linens), fresh healthy vegetables, entrees and salads. I recommend it highly.
We enjoyed our food. I had the Chicken Southwest Salad and one of my companions had the flatbread. Good stuff. The service was amazing - our waitress was great!!!
Our food was good. The salad was really good. The guacamole appetizer should have more chips. We were not asked by our waiter if we needed chips and by the time he checked on us our meal had arrived. It took awhile for drink refills also
Nice ambiance, noise level mellow and good mix of music blended well with very good food and service. Across the street from John Hancock building.
We return to Mity Nice frequently, as this is one of my favorites and top rated in all categories. The service and food are always excellent.
Moderately priced (some would say cheap for the area) and good food!
Great service. Super short wait for food. Great meal for excellent price!! Will be back!!
I've eaten here many times and the food has been excellent. This time I ordered the Ruben after they assured me that the corn beef was very lean. It wasn't. The manager came over and he was very accommodating. Not only did he adjust my bill, he also sent me home with a second sandwich which was much better.
Excellent service, food, great atmosphere and perfect location for pre-theater dinner.
