Birthday Dinner , we had a reservation and arrived right on time. We then waited 25 more minutes before we were seated. We were then seated in this strange room away from regular dining room. It was very removed from the rest of restaurant ambience and the service was horrible. We ordered appetizers which were sent to wrong table . They “remade” it and that took another 8 minutes so I don’t believe they remade just new plate and chips that had not been eaten. We saw the table that received our app and they ate part of it before telling them it wasn’t theirs. The time between appetizer and meal was another 25 minutes. The food was really good once we received it.

Overall I was really disappointed. I made a reservation for 6:30 and wasn’t seated until 6:50. The table, chairs and floor were all dirty with crumbs and two unused straws on the floor. It took 25 minutes to get two tuna nigiri after ordering. The top sirloin wasn’t too bad, but I ordered it medium rare and it was served between medium and medium well. I won’t recommend or return.

We decided to visit Miyazaki for a birthday after enjoying a lunch there last month. The food was mediocre and the service was awful. We were surprised that nobody ever asked if we were there for a special occasion, even thought it was noted on our reservation. We had to ask for a children’s menu multiple times as well as crayons (the crayons were never provided). The waitress kept pushing the mocktail menu on our 6 & 8 year old, even after we said they were fine with water. The adults ordered a cocktail and some iced tea. We were never asked if we’d like to order another drink / have a refill for the remainder of the meal. My daughter’s tempura shrimp came out frozen in the middle THREE times. My sushi rolls came out well after everyone else’s entrées and were all lukewarm – both cooked and raw rolls. It appears as if they have been sitting for sometime before being delivered to our table. No plates were cleared during our meal. We had to ask two different people for plates once the sushi rolls arrived. For a self-declared “premium Japanese sushi and steakhouse” the service was subpar and the food experience was lacking. Attached photos are of the same roll a month apart. You can see that the presentation has gone down. While presentation does not necessarily equate to quality, in this instance it did. With “premium” dining (including the premium price) you expect quality all around and Miyazaki did not deliver. However, they did make sure to include a 20% gratuity on our $300 bill and point out where we could add extra gratuity. I had told several people about Miyazaki, but will reconsider sending anyone here in the future.

Ordered $160 A5 wagyu steak and a side of mashed potatoes. The steak was cut way too thin and just not the experience I expected . The mashed potatoes were cold and the waitress just blew it off like I was a complainer. Very unsatisfactory for the kind of money they charge. The sushi was very good but they shouldn't sell expensive steak if they don't know how to prepare.

Ended up sitting at the Sushi Bar. That was nice to watch the sushi being made. Had Calamari, not as Crispy as I would have liked; but good. Had Amaebi, Masago Nigiri, Miyazaki Roll, Kayiga roll (Cucumber wrapped, no rice), and the Hot Stone Wagyu Rib Cap. Bartender was quirky but drinks were good.

Showed up early as our prior event ended early. Front of house staff stated they couldn’t seat us early, that’s fine we will go walk around. Just out of curiosity I checked open table and saw I could get a reservation 5 minutes from then. Weird, but we were already walking. We came back at our agreed upon reservation time and were asked to wait, as they needed to get our table ready. We waited an additional 15 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. All of these small things weren’t a big deal on their own, but did leave a little bit of a sour taste. Other than the bumpy experience prior to being seated, the food was good and our server was nice.

Food was good, service was very slow. Food came out sporadically. Members of the party had to eat by themselves as the food came out so slowly one was finished almost by the time The next member got their food. It was a birthday party, and the person that had the birthday ice cream got theirs and then 15 minutes later, the rest of the party got theirs. Not a very fun and energetic dining experience.

Dinner was delicious. Recommend the calamari and edamame appetizers. The signature sushi rolls are unique and fabulous! The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and we had great service. The owner even took his time to come and chat with this. Will definitely be returning.

We were overwhelmed by a heavy fishy smell at first entrance and it never subsided. Should have been our first clue that the experience would not be as well as expected. Our server was not attentive at all…there were not that many guests/tables set. After waiting a bit to be greeted at our table, I ordered a Coke. I didn’t receive the drink until appetizers came and only after I asked for the coke again. The sushi was subpar and over priced. And we waited to get our check well past finishing our food. This is my 2nd time visiting this establishment and both times were not impressive, given the price tag on the menu items and the slow service.

Our reservation was at 7:30 pm, we had a group of 9 . We saw people come and go however our plates arrived at weird timings, having everyone in our table eat at a different time. Substitutions were not allowed. We ended up leaving closer to 10 pm. The service wasn’t bad, it’s a clean place and delicious drinks.

Forgot to put in our appetizer (which was no big deal at the start of the night) as we received it within 5-10 minutes… then completely forgot to input my wife’s sushi order so we sat for 30 minutes waiting for hers to arrive at the table. I received my entree 10 minutes after my wife received hers. I saw the same happen at an adjoining table. A simple request (have sauce on the side) was ignored. But the food itself was very tasty.

This was hands down the worst food I’ve ever had. The tempura was saturated in oil. And the oil tasted old. The wagyu sirloin was tasteless. I’m a native San Franciscan that knows good food. This place is typical mall food. If you want exception Japanese go to takashi. Avoid this dump.

I love coming to this beautiful restaurant for sushi and for dinner! The management staff is so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. As well as the servers. I was lucky enough to have Jamie as my server she was so kind, prompt, funny, and she provided fantastic service. The restaurant itself is stunning! I highly recommend coming here but be sure to get a reservation. If you’re coming at night time it is busy.

Service was slow, asked several times to take used appetizer plates from table but never removed them. Food wasn’t great either. Trying too hard to be some type of trendy Japanese place but the dishes were not even close to good Japanese food. Tempura was gluggy or non existent. The katsu curry was dreadful. Not even mild in taste and barely any of the curry. Katsu pieces were way to big. Really wanted it to be great but was very disappointed.

Food was great. Well presented, fresh and great taste. Cocktails were great. Service was VERY slow. We had to ask 3 different times for water and more ginger. Food took forever to be to us and the restaurant was half empty. We were sat by the entrance, don’t sit there. Overheard a couple get turned away because they had no reservation and the place was not even half full. If you’re going to charge good money and expect me to pay good money to eat there, step up the service. One of what I would assume was an owner (saw him in the kitchen, at the bar, and talking and directing employees) stood by our table when we had empty app plates and empty water glasses. Didn’t say a word, just looked at his phone. Horrible. Again, good food, good cocktails. But my wife and I go to places not just for the food, but for the experience. Not sure if we will go back. Very disappointed in the service.
