    We had a great experience at Modavie. We were concerned about the noise level but the jazz was perfect and was in the background. Our server was attentive and informative. We had the lamb papperdelle and the mussels, both were excellent. Our only complaint for whatever reason was that our room was hot. Reservations are necessary.

    Wir mussten eine Stunde auf den Hauptgang warten. Wir haben das Filet medium bestellt und well down erhalten. Die Qualität des Essens lässt zu wünschen übrig. Die Musik ist viel zu laut, man versteht kein Wort. Der Kellner war sehr nett und hat sich Mühe gegeben. Einmal und nie wieder!

    My partner and I made a reservation at Modavie for an Anniversary trip to Montreal. We were seated quickly and had a wonderful waiter. We ordered the Royale Sour and Mirage for drinks and agreed they were some of the best cocktails we'd had at a restaurant. For our meal we ordered the Quebec Lamb Papardelle and the Truffle Risotto-- both were delicious and had great portion sizes for us to be full and take some home with us. The creme brulee did not disappoint either (though we were happy that we opted to each get our own, they were not sharing-size). I am looking forward to our next trip to the area just to dine here again.

    We had the filet Mignon and it was good. The Brussels sprouts Cesar was too much large raw Brussels sprouts. The green beans in vegetables side was very over cooked. Service was indifferent but I think the waitress was covering too many tables. The jazz music was good but sadly the diners didn't pay any attention to it and you could hardly hear the band over noise of the diners.

    I was there in 2022, amazing. My experience this time, very moderate. My red wine was chilled and I was advised that they had no room temperature wine, which is fine, but not for $26 for 8oz. When I asked for the drinks menu to replace the cold red wine, my server gave me the dinner menu and then didn't come back to my table until my food was served. I had the salmon, which was tasty but my entire plate was only warm. My husband had the risotto, which was piping hot and he said very tasty. I was disappointed with my experience this year.

    Perfect. Fun. Food was incredible- lamb out of this world. Music perfect - singer sounded like she belonged in a NY nightclub. Bass player, guitarist both great. Service excellent. And I am a very spoiled NYer. Thank you all so much!

    We stumbled across this restaurant while walking around in old Montreal. The hostess told us we needed reservations because she was full; however. OpenTable had plenty available. The ambience was great! We sat upstairs were there was a live musician singing and playing the guitar. Such a great vibe! We ordered the lamb poutine. It was delicious! We also ordered the gnocchi pasta dish, as well as the pappardelle pasta dish. The food was EXCELLENT! By far the best food we had while visiting!

    Lamb is the specialty at this restaurant in Montreal's old quarter. My wife and I ordered the muscles and fries and they were superb. Also, the restaurant had live jazz! A great evening out at an excellent restaurant.

    Good meal good location good ambience. Just don’t sit upstairs where the live music is if you want to hear your dinner companions. The musician was great but precluded us having meaningful conversation except between songs briefly. Sit on first floor

    nice ambiance but not terribly inspiring menu (unless you really like meat). Quite expensive for what it is and while we were there 7.30-9 there were two musician breaks so not a lot of live music. When they played it was enjoyable though. Cocktails were good

    Our waiter Anzo recommended the lamb chops and they did not diasspoint. Paired it with the escargot appetizer and a nice Pinot noir. For dessert the lemon tartlets and Cafe Monavie. Service was great, and food delicious. Atmosphere charming. Highly recommend for a special night out!

    Unfortunately the restaurant did not meet our expectation. Rack of lamb at $55 was cooked properly but was very tough. Not what you expect for Quebec lamb and what the restaurant said they are known for. French onion soup was good but not great, same with creme brulee. Disappointing dinner in Old Montreal where you expect excellent food.

    We celebrated our anniversary dinner here last night. The fried octopus appetizer was tender and delicious. Lamb chops with potatoes and steak frites were both sumptuous. Waitress was wonderful. Music added a lovely touch. Highly recommend!

    We loved Modavie! We ended up front row on 2nd floor for the jazz band during dinner which was a delight. The service is great and my only complaint is that thy make you order the entire meal - al courses- at once and brought the food way too quick, barely giving us time to finish the prior course. We had the cheese plate- very good. Would have been helpful if they told us the cheeses we were eating. Also shared scallops which we incredible, the salmon entree which was good, and the cavatelli pasta which was the loser - too much tomato and noodles were too aldente. We had profiteroles for dessert and they were average. The highlight of this restaurant is the wine and the entertainment!
