   Wonderful first meal in Montreal. The Beef Tartare and Duck Confit were delicious. Best Crème Brûlée I’ve ever had. Service is exceptional and the staff handle a large volume of diners fluidly.

   The restaurant is very nice. The reception by the owner, we think, was exceptional. The food was very good, although the waitress got one of the orders wrong even after I had pointed to it on the menu. The music was very good and at a level that let you listen and still be able to talk with the other table guests. Very enjoyable brunch.

   L’endroit est très bruyant si vous êtes dans la même pièce que le band. Demandez dans votre réservation d’éviter ce secteur à moins d’aimer quand vous ne pouvez vous entendre parler. La nourriture était bonne, mais rien qui se démarque.

   Had the salmon tartar and lamb poutine for an entre and lamb chops and papardelles for main course. Food was amazing, desert was great. Drinks were delicious. Ambiance was great. Service was nice. Lamb was so tender and delicious. I recommend.

    Escargot was great. Salmon was a bit dry. Mushroom risotto was really good. The brazed lamb that I had w it was good but , by my taste, would have been better with some mint. Overall great dinner the band on Friday was really good. We went to the bar after dinner n the people were really friendly.

    Wonderful evening. Great atmosphere, excellent service and terrific food. We had the cheese and charcuterie board, mushroom risotto and braised lamb pappardelle with the profiteroles for dessert. Excellent wine list. There was a blues trio playing that were a great addition to the evening.

    What a wonderful evening spent wining and dining! Hostess was very understanding when I called advise that we were running a bit late. When we arrived our waiter was wonderful. The food was so good and the entertainment, fun! Highly recommend!!

    We are out of towners and this restaurant was recommended by friends. We were upstairs where it was noisy so conversation was difficult. The snails au gratin appetizer was delicious but the meals were very mediocre. We each had something different: the duck was dry and tasteless and the steak was tough. The salmon and the mussels were acceptable. For the price of this evening out, we were disappointed in the quality and presentation of our dinners.

    The music, ambience, wine selection, food, and above all, the highly professional and welcoming service from Lorenzo and the wait staff, was superb! It was the most memorable evening of our stay in Old Montreal. Bravo!

    Excellent dinner. We had a 6 pm reservation but before the hist would seat us he wanted to make sure we knew we had to leave before the next reservation at 8:15 - was awkward. Then he sat us right next to the band when there were many other tables open. However the music was smooth jazz- very nice. The server was very good and the food was delicious- charcuterie, mussels and lamb chops. Overall a nice dinner.

    We had a wonderful time and lovely dinner at Modavie! The Moules marinières were fresh and flavourful, the crème brûlée was heavenly, and the excellent jazz by Alex and Rivo provided a soothing atmosphere to enjoy our meal. Lorenzo and Christian were sweethearts and took good care of us. Will definitely come back.

    The vibe is superb, the singer was awesome singing the classic songs, and the service was great. Only downside is that the food was below par than others at similar price range. I’d recommend it if you r going for overall experience than food alone.

    Had a wonderful dinner at Modavie in 2018 and again in 2023. Would highly recommend going in the evening to enjoy the live music as well as the fantastic dinner. Our server Christian offered amazing, friendly service as well. We had the chicken supreme with a green salad as well as the salmon, both with beautifully cooked seasonal vegetables, a mtlopolitan cocktail, and creme brulee (to die for). Don't miss out!     I had the escargot, lamb chops, and crème brûlée. The escargot was very good but the lamb although well cooked and soft was a bit on the bland side as were the vegetables with it. The crème brûlée topping had been over torched is it was a layer of glass which means the sugar was overheated. It’s nice that there’s music every night but it’s very hard to hear it as people don’t seem to be there for the music and continue to talk as if nothing is happening. The staff were very attentive.

    We had a less than pleasant experience overall dining at Modavie. It is a very busy place with lots of tourists. The live music was lovely, but the volume was way too loud, we couldn’t even hear each other to have any conversation at the table without yelling. The service was not good, and the server who dropped off our bread and gave us water was miserable and rude. We waited more than half an hour to get a drink. We watched every table that got sat after us get drinks, food, and leave before we even got our food. The food was okay. Flavours of a couple items were good, but the quality of a lot of the ingredients are terrible. Everything is priced way too high for the quality this place is offering. Definitely won’t be going back.

    We had a wonderful experience. We have an 8:30 reservation and we’re seated right away. Our server Kevin was very attentive. The food was very tasty and the ambiance was amazing. Loved the jazz trio playing upstairs. A great experience!

    The food was delicious, and our server was very kind. My only complaint was that I emailed the restaurant in advance asking if they had vegan dinner options for my friend and received a response that they did. Unfortunately, we learned that was not the case. Luckily my friend had a large lunch and wasn't hungry. It seems there was a disconnect in communication. Overall, my party enjoyed the experience!
