My parents ate at Moishes on their 1950 honeymoon, and my mother mentions this every time Montréal comes up in conversation. So my husband and I had to try it for ourselves, 69 years later. The food was great, the ambiance as my mother has glowingly referred to it all these years, was very haimische. Truthfully we came to the City for a day and a half taking the train round trip from New York, with only two plans — peep at fall colors, and eat dinner at Moishes! We were delighted with both. Glad we made the special trip, and learned for ourselves what all the excitement was about.

Classic Steak House with exceptional customer service. Consistent quality no wonder it’s been around for all these years. A must try for an ultimate old school dinning experience the best in Montreal!
Had one the best steaks ever! Great very attentive service. Free parking in a congested part of town is a great plus.
The elite place for stake in the city
Only complaint was I requested a window seat two weeks earlier and staff only noticed the request when we arrived. It was our 40th anniversary. A regular showed (without a reservation) up after us and was seated at a window seat. We had to then wait for our table to be set up. That was a little disappointing.
It was s lovely evening, our waiter was A1. As always the food was amazing. I had the rib eye and my wife the filet mignon both were cooked perfectly. It wasn’t our first time and every time we’ve enjoyed it. I love the traditional steak house, which is Moishe’s
Great steak. The chicken dish was the best my wife ever had in a restaurant. Don’t miss the stuffed potato. A top ten experience.
Moishes is one of my favourite restaurants and we have a great time, every time. The only thing I don't love is the artwork. I find it creates a dark ambiance, not uplifting or positive.
Went here for my birthday. First visit. It was excellent. Be prepared to spend but you'll be getting a first class meal. Service was excellent as were the meals. They even gave me a slice of cake for my birthday!
Very good experience
Our family dinner, party of 6 adults and a toddler, had a spectacular meal with incredible service. It was truly a memorable experience and we look forward to doing it again.
Loved the old school ambiance and menu. Cocktails were good. Food was delicious. Pickles and slaw to die for!
I have been going here for the past 7 years and it’s never a disappointment. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Their late night menu is an excellent value. And don’t forget to take advantage of the half size grey goose bottles and wine during late night!
Food and service were fantastic. However, the wine list is way over priced.

Restaurant had accepted a last minute 70 top and completely weeded service. FOH was crabby with BOH and it showed. We were extremely rushed. Food was fine. Room was very loud, and bright.
The meat was cooked to perfection. But would have like to have vegetables with the meat.
And also some kind of sauce ( pepper ).
Enjoyed dinner very much. The staff was most welcoming and the food and service were excellent.

We always enjoy our outings at Moishes. Service, food, ambiance are first rate as would be expected from such a Montreal institution.
Our table was ready right on time and the service was top notch. The food was fantastic! Steak was cooked perfectly (rare isn’t always done as rare as you’d like other places) and we didn’t need any salt/pepper/sauce because it was so good as is. The sautéed spinach side we ordered was also fantastic. I don’t drink alcohol but my wife loved her drinks. When we visit montreal again we are definitely going back to Moishes.
Classic old school steakhouse on hip St Laurent. Great steaks and fare of that type. The service was outstanding.
I was disappointed with the quality of the meat for the after 9 special. Normally the food is fantastic and always consistently good. I think this was an off night and will give it another try.
Filet on the bone ordered. was the end of the filet (very thin) medium cook asked, rare delivered. Moishes ´ Quality is not anymore Moishes. Very expensive for what you get. On the other Hand the service is very professionnal
Steaks always of consistent quality. This place is a certainty in terms of excellent food. Don’t miss the rib-eye steak.

we have been going to moishes for many years. this time felt different. my wife's salmon was burnt on the bottom and exceedingly dry. she was unable to eat it. they nicely did not charge for her meal., but still the experience obviously was not the same. also the french fires were not hot and also in a smaller serving dish and not full either. it felt like the restaurant was making cutbacks.
as i mentioned we have been going to moishes for many years and have always loved our dining experience there. this time was not the case and it left us disappointed.
We were seated within a few minutes after arrival and service without delay not overly fast but reasonable so not to feel hurried. The menu selections were lamb chops and roast beef. Very tasty, reasonable portion sizes . Will be back sometime.
Parking can be challenging.
Server seemed unfriendly and indifferent. Service from busboys was much better and they actually seemed like they wanted to be there
The last time I was at Moishe's I was 13, today I was here for my 65th birthday. Moishe's lived up to my childhood memories. The filet mignon was melt in your mouth tender. This was the best dinner that we had in Montreal.
everything went well although waiting was long for a reservation.
My husband had the Junior Rib Steak and I had the roasted chicken. We both agree that the meals were the best steak and chicken we have ever had!!! It was a little pricey though....

The steak was too charbroiled....the charcoal taste was overly acrid. Even though it was medium rare inside? The outer crust just tasted burnt rather than caramelized.
Food was great. Dry age steaks were delicious and the service was excellent.
