Moltaqa Moroccan Restaurant
Healthy and flavourful, halal Moroccan cuisine, aromatic spices. Vegan and gluten free options. We offer BC and international wines, beers on tap, cocktails. Freshly squeezed juices, Kombucha on tap, Moroccan Tea, Turkish coffee, homemade lemonade.
Moroccan cuisine is a delicious combination of mouthwatering flavors that make it unique. Moroccan food is incredibly diverse, thanks to the countrys interaction with other cultures and nations over the centuries. Influenced by Berbers, Arabs, Andalusian, Mediterranean and especially French.
We use traditional Moroccan Tagines for cooking, where the convection produced by the design of the pot cooks everything perfectly. The dish is naturally and continuously basted - ingredients are moist and the meat buttery.
No Fat, No Oils. All our meat is halal and hormone- and antibiotic-free. We have lots of vegan and pescatarian options.

Super charming staff, fantastic ambiance, and delicious food. Great to see a new cocktail and wine list. Highly recommended. The table side rack of lamb is perfect as well as their selection of authentic tagines.
Last night’s dinner was simply delightful! Glad we made reservations and encourage everyone to do so. Be prepared to be pampered and treated to a multi-sensory dining experience at Moltaqa! The restaurant has a unique vibrant vibe, staff are warm and truly take care about providing diners excellent customer experience! Mimo the owner is a passionate restaurateur who treats everyone with such warmth and personalized care. I was treated to a surprise birthday party in this very same venue 2 years ago by family with friends in attendance and we have been coming back since. Moroccan food experience at its finest! Love their vegie appie sampler and hearty soups, pastillas (choice of chicken, seafood, and veg - the latter won’t disappoint much as all versions are delish), their tajines are a must (choice of fresh sockeye salmon, cardamom duck with figs, lamb in saffron and lemon, beef sirloin with saffron) and the RACK of LAMB ... what can I say? Flambéd right at your table, front row view of your food prepared with care and flair! Everything is sourced locally and made fresh daily including their bread and harissa dip. Don’t skip dessert, flambéd crepe Suzette with fig confit and creamy vanilla ice cream with their signature Moroccan tea or coffee. You’re welcome!😍
Absolutely amazing! Wonderful food choices! Super vegan friendly! Probably one of the best restaurant services I have ever had! Highly highly recommended!
Great ambiance and excellent service! The food arrived promptly, was tasty and beautifully served in typical tagine serving dishes.
Lovely evening, loved the experience, food, ambiance and service
It was my partner and I’s first time at Moltaqa and it was such an amazing experience! The food was fresh and flavourful, with so many well labeled vegan and veggie options, the staff were so friendly and the atmosphere made you feel like you are on vacation. A truly authentic experience, I will definitely be going back.
Went with my son and his girlfriend for my girlfriends birthday…
Only the second time we have been here, but both the owner and the waitress remembered us and treated us like family.
Food was Fantastic and the service made us feel special.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who either
hasn’t tried it out yet or has never tried Moroccan Cuisine.
Excellent Tasting and a Great Value… Thanks, So Much 🙏🏻
Good food good service, try it highly recommended.
The service was splendid
Great experience and service
We were visiting Vancouver. Best experience ever! Welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and owner. It was very nice that the owner came to our table talking about the moroccan tradition behind the plates and telling his own story. He was going to all tables to have a chat with other customers. We were amased by the original decorating items all over the place and the owner's paintings on the wall. The food was delicious : Chicken Pastilla, Rack of lamb, and Chebakia with Moroccan tea as dessert. I highly recommand this restaurant and we will come back next time we visit Vancouver.
We had a lovely night at. Staff were lovely and the food was really great. Will certainly go back again. Great options for veggies and meat eaters alike and we loved the sangria
I had great dinner with close friends at Moltaqa restaurant. absolutely amazing food, from preparation to presentation , so is their service and ambiance. Coming back there soon…
The service was amazing. We used to go often to Moroccan restaurants in France and in Montreal, so we knew exactly what we wanted. They make sure that our meals were to our liking. The food tasted wonderful! We were really impressed with that kind of commitment for their customers' satisfaction. Even if the location is not ideal, there is a parking lot close by which is convenient enough.
Absolutely fantastic lamb, great salads and stuffed eggplant was terrific
Great food and service! Loved it.
Moltaqa never disappoints. As soon as you enter, it feels like you've been whisked away to another world with the interior, lighting, ambience, and music. The hosts and other staff are friendly and welcoming, and the food is incredible. Good luck choosing what to eat, because I would highly recommend everything off the menu. The tagines are a highlight, and if you want a special something, don't miss the rack of lamb. I recommend asking what wine pairs well with each dish - they do a great job at recommending something that heightens the experience. The cocktails are to-die-for as well.
Fun little spot with exotic North African food. The ambiance is romantic, though the view from the front window is a little dismal.
The vegetarian appetizer sampler is excellent and quite large. My wife and I enjoyed that and a bowl of soup and called it dinner.
Fun spot for a very interesting dining experience with friends!!
This restaurant is amazing! We had such a great evening here celebrating our anniversary, it felt like being on vacation! Decor is beautiful and the atmosphere is so unique.
The food is absolutely delicious and staff/owner services are so heart-warming. Lots of healthy options – our favorite was vegan Bessara soup and halal lamb kofta tagine. Great wine recommendations.
Definitely will come again!
Very nice 2nd experience for us over the last couple years...it's a tragedy that our inept, poorly run City Hall, allows this historic neighborhood, to be decimated to apocalyptic proportions, that look and feel like a zombie film daily...filthy streets, open drug use right at the entrance to the restaurant zero police presence-they don't seem to care anyways! After 28 years in Vancouver's Hospitality industry, I feel so sad for all of the businesses trying to make it work in this depraved, sad area of the downtown core. Aside from that I love the place!
The server was so lovely, willing to take her time describing the dishes, and very personable. The energy in the room was amazing and the decorations made you feel like you really were in Morocco. My boyfriend grew up in Morocco and he said it was the first time he has felt this close to Morocco in 11 years. The owner was so kind and generous! We will definitely be back again:)
I just visited Moltaqa restaurant, and YOU have to go! It’s the cutest little spot with amazing and authentic food. The service I received was fantastic and I will definitely be back again. It’s a great experience. The ambiance was very welcoming and charming. Thank you
It was amazing experience we will come back soon ♥
Very interesting flavours, I cannot tell if they are traditional but I really liked them. The waiter was great to suggest us what to order. Good portions, we had enough to get an extra lunch the day after. Beautiful ambience!
A super pleasing experience. The tangine dishes in particular were awesome.
Me and my wife enjoyed the food. It was really great and well presented.
Beautiful place. Thanks for a lovely night! Definitely will recommend!
All round really excellent. Will definitely visit again
Sat at the bar and experienced wonderful drinks and dinner.
Food was good. Very tasty. Servers seemed a little inexperienced. Several times taking a single order from the table and walking away before the next order (there were 2 of us). Not checking back until nearly finished our food. Not regularly topping up water or wine. Minor things that didn't really effect the meal too much.
You must try the patillas! Delicious food, fun atmosphere and good value.
Definitely worth checking out! The lamb shank tagine was something different from most places.
We had a delightful dinner, and the service was outstanding. Our waitress was kind and attentive, and offered some great suggestions. I have been to Morocco and this experience felt like we were there for the time of an authentic soirée. Highly recommend! We will definitely be back! I also recommend parking at the easy park above the Vancouver film school, a mere 4-5 minutes walk away.
Authentic and tasty Moroccan Cuisine with decor from that country that makes you feel like your are sitting in northwest corner of Africa while dinning.
This restaurant is an amazing oasis...
In it’s particular East Vancouver address.
Started off our evening experience with mint tea sweetened with brown sugar... My fiancé ordered a Cocktail; saffron infused vodka in a lemon drop martini 🍸
Then we ordered... VEGETARIAN SAMPLER PLATTER FOR TWO.
Lentils, white bean stew with ginger, eggplant pepper stew, tomato pepper salad, mini eggplants, carrot salad and Moroccan bread.
For an Entree with shared the : LEMON & OLIVE CHICKEN TAGINE
Halal, hormone-free and non-medicated chicken leg braised in its own juices and Moroccan spices... This was a absolutely delicious dish and lot of food.
Had a nice bottle of Sauvignon Blanc.
Such a wonderful evening...
Friendly serving staff, caring owner on site.
The love and care of this restauranteur was
self-evident in the attention to detail in the fashionable Moroccan decor, and the quality of the food served that represented his home country. he even paint the artwork on the walls.
A great find and we will definitely return...
and suggested to all our family and friends.
Thank-you for Fantastic Dinning Experience.
The restaurants atmosphere is decent, however the food was not very tasty. The lamb that was served was raw and the prices were too expensive for the quality.
Review refers to Valentines set menu price. Rack of lamb was perfectly cooked, pink. We are aware of that some people prefer fully cooked steak and loin. Your preference has nothing to do with the taste of our food, you have not touch it. please ask for well done, we will gladly do it.
Food was disappointing for the price point. Seating and ambience are mediocre. Staff are nice though.
Enjoyed the restaurant.. We went with the Valentines 7 course meal and it was perfect. Staff were all friendly and attentive.
Great owner. Good food. Nice ambiance.
Definitely try their crepe before you leave.
Excellent Food ,totally enjoyable Family meal ,All of us had a very satisfying meal and they have a good vegetarian options
