It was closed!! There was a sign on the door saying permanently closed. We had booked it for my friends birthday and had a group of 7 standing outside the restaurant in the cold with no where else to go on short notice. I’m very disappointed with OpenTable for not being up to date - if it was shut down you shouldn’t have allowed the booking.
The restaurant is closed for good. No notice. Their website is still up for some reason. Was taking some friends out to find a shut down restaurant. Very embarrassing.
This place is closed. Please take this down. It's inconvenient to have to change plans last minute and cost me an extra cab ride to go somewhere else.
This is my first date, the place is CLOSED even I made a reservation online!
I booked online and they were closed when we got there.
They should have blocked online booking.
Great service but the food was poor. The avocado and corn chips were stale in the appetizer that we ordered and the chicken wings were too greasy. Stick to the pressed sushi. Everything else is gross.
Service is okay but wagyu beef is not good wagyu beef and so not worth the price. Disappointed that there are no uni as well!
It was a wonderful dinner. Food was fantastic and the place is great.
My friend and I came for winterlicious dinner. The waitress never refilled our water, or checked in on us. We were the last people left before closing and you could tell she just wanted us to leave so she could go home. My friend had the cornish hen with truffle risotto and the predominant taste of the risotto was mayo. The sushi was average. The dessert portions were small and basically a mishmash of grocery store items on a plate. So many regrets.
Love the Momo plate!
Food was delicious. It is a little more expensive than some Japanese restaurants but it is worth it.
Fantastic dishes - loved the sushi and chicken with truffle risotto winterlicious mains: fantastic tastes!
Someone complained about the lack of a kids' menu during winterlicious. Excuse me, you're complaining about the wrong things. Immediately made a reservation after hearing that complaint and had zero regrets. Go and enjoy yourself, great ambience. It'd be nice if they'd heat the basement washrooms though, but otherwise great place.
The only thing I would have appreciated is that if there were no other orders allowed during Winterlicious, that the establishment should have advised that when I booked. Though the Winterlicious was very tasty, we wanted their usual special dishes and did not know we were not allowed to order until we got there. We also tried to order another set of the winterlicious meals but were told we cannot stay and had to leave for other tables arriving.
Well played. Great sushi.
Didn’t say that it was only doing the winterlicious menu so their was nothing for my children to eat. We asked them if we could order some simple cucumber or California rolls but they said they had no inventory to make it. What kind of sushi place doesn’t have any other food to make something simple? If it wasn’t for the fact that they were going to charge me $10-20 per person already I would have taken my family and walked out. I will never go here again and I wouldn’t suggest it to my own worse enemy.
Food was incredible, but waitresses could be more attentive, especially since there were not many customers at the place. Aside from the service, the main thing that I was appauled by was the fact that the washroom was downstairs which required going outside of the first door (double door entrance) which was really cold especially on a -20 degree day! The washrooms downstairs were also not heated and there were no hot water. Honestly, during the summer, I bet it would be awesome as the food was what made me come back!
Came here for winterlicious, food was pretty good. Really liked the sushi tart
The restaurant was great, food and ambiance too but unfortunately it's not the type of restaurant that you would chill and have drinks and food for the night because they have an hour and a half window on the weekends. So if your just going for a quick bite before a concert or show it's great, but if you want to chill here for the night and have drinks I wouldn't recommend it.
Great chirashi bowl! Buck a shuck oysters on weeknights! Great classy ambience with friends!
The food is very delicious and the place is very quiet. The waiteress is very friendly and the cooker is very friendly too. It is good for lunch and dinner. It is suitable for the birthday ‘
Service was fast which I really like. Restaurant was clean and staff were really friendly and accommodating.
I like sushi very much that’s why I loved everything on their menu, especially the sushi tart and two people can actually share it. Price wasn’t so bad considering its in downtown! I will definitely come back for more sushi.
The food is excellent and it isn't too expensive. The service is quick and the restaurant design is great. Plus, there are a few places available outside .
Solid contemporary Japanese cuisine in a relaxed environment. Great spot for share plates with small groups.
Had a really nice meal. Service was very good.
Food was great so was the ambiance. I recommend the tart for sure! It was a birthday which I noted in the reso, and without mentioning anything at all they kindly brought over a dessert and wished us a happy birthday. Awesome !!
Food was okay. Comparable Aburi, or flame seared, style sushi to another Japanese Restaurant: Miku. Better value here. Had one of the signature dishes which was some kind of rice cake with avocado and salmon. Taste was good for the first few bites, but felt it was too much of the same thing afterwards.
Service and ambiance were great. Would need to try other things on the menu to get a fairer representation of this restaurant's offerings. Overall good.
