Service was excellent. Ambience was nice. Food was ok. The ham and pickled cherries was excellent .
Wine was lovely. Main course was overpriced for what was presented. A pork chop $46. Nothing Special.
Our third visit to Kojin. All always, service is excellent with explanations about the food and suggestions
on how to share it with a group. We ordered a bottle of Rioja which was quite cold. When mentioning this to sommelier, he said that the bottle came from the cellar, therefore was cold. No apology, he could have asked if we still wanted this bottle, being cold and offered to select another type of wine instead.
Also, sorry David Chang, we do not agree with your choice of playing "The Cure", "The Cars" quite loud at the end of of evening.
My husband and I have dined at many of David Chang's restaurants in multiple cities and have never been disappointed. Our meal and service was spectacular as usual, and we had a great time chatting with the cooks while they worked the fires. We love sitting counter side so we can watch food prep and ask questions, and it's always well worth it, but make sure to wear layers as it can get HOT by the fireside. My one note is that the style at Kojin is a bit different than the usual Momofuku style we expect i.e. a large representation of pork, seafood, and Asian influence; this has more of a steakhouse vibe. However, if you're looking for a really savory, unctuous meal with unique and delicious beverage pairings, this is it. (And do yourself a favor, DO NOT skip the corn flatbread with beef drippings. You're welcome).
What a disappointing experience! We checked in and were immediately given a time limit for how long we could sit at our table and it was 1 hour and 45 minutes. We are in Toronto for a few days and my boss bought a gift card for me to Momofuko online, one that was supposed to be valid in Toronto but when we tried to pay with it, we were told we couldn’t use it. I quickly texted my boss who sent a photo of the website where he purchased the gift card and it said VALID IN THE US AND CANADA. I showed it to the manager but that didn’t do anything. We had to pay for our meal and were then told we might be able to call or email “somewhere” (no specifics were given) and get it exchanged for a Canadian gift card. We live in Los Angeles so I don’t know what we are going to do with a Canadian gift card if I can switch it out, and of course there is no Momofuko in Los Angeles. A customer service minded manager would have said “we’ll accept it and make it work” or “we will figure out how to transfer it to a Canadian gift card” but not this one. He literally couldn’t care less after we paid with a credit card.
We had been wanting to try Kojin for a while and were hoping it would become a neighbourhood favourite. The food was good but the service is lacking, and service can really make or break a meal - especially in a place like this where there are high expectations - and I think rightfully so. I hope the restaurant sees this review and makes changes to the way issues like mine are taken care of.
We ordered the cornbread, sausage board, a burger and a steak with brussel sprouts and never received the sausage board. We were served the cornbread, and after about a 15 minute wait our mains came out. We let them know then that we were still waiting for the sausage board and the server (not our waiter) said it would be right out. Then a few minutes later, our waiter came out and said that he hadn’t heard us order the sausage board and asked us if we still wanted it. This made me feel like we had somehow made a mistake and I told him sorry, we would let him know after we were finished our mains if we wanted it. We did want it, but he didn’t ask us about it again and because it seemed like the waiter thought this was our mistake, I didn’t mention it again. We had heard such great things about the sausage board and I’m still disappointed we didn’t get it.
I think this could have been handled much better - after us letting the server know we hadn’t received what we ordered, bringing it out, not sending the waiter over to tell us that he “hadn’t heard you order the sausage board.”
I will probably try this place again - it’s beautiful and the food is good - but I really hope their service improves.

Slightly over priced for what we got but food was great
I think food is not worth that much, two people shared the same set of dishes for 330 dollars including everything. It is overpriced, but the service is good.
Very overpriced price fixe menu on Valentine’s Day. Food was average. Quite disappointing overall.
Pork chop was excellent, sausage platter was OK at best. Did good job to acommodate special request. Some billing issues. So while there were highs, there were also lows it evens out at “good” not “great”
Some of the best food in the city and well worth the cost. Each time we eat here it's like a culinary journey. The chefs and staff are very knowledgeable and attentive, and I truly can't praise Momofuku enough.
Overall, i was disappointed. Some food items were tasty and great, others were cold and bland. Waitress was fine, but wine or bar guy needed training. Music was a miss match of songs, and at times made more white noise than helped. I guess I was looking more for a rock band and what we got was a few rock stars. I may not come back, but I will re read the cookbook and look at how some of the dishes should work. Next time, I will try noodle bar.
We sat at the counter, and had such an enjoyable experience chatting and watching the chefs cook!

Around 8 of us came for lunch and we were super happy with our experience. The staff was superb, they went above and beyond- friendly and professional, answering all of our questions (chef came out to talk about her plants) and did not make us feel rushed even tho it was closed to closing time.
The food was amazing and you could tell it was bc of technique and quality ingredients. Some of the dishes appear to be small in portion but the bold flavours make them really satisfying. The only thing is that the general price point is a little high but I guess u can expect that in the financial district at a momofuko restaurant.
Loved it! Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice dinner!
This was our first time in Momofuku Kojin which was highly recommended by friends. We were not disappointed. Quick description: the food was outstanding, the service friendly and impeccable, the wine list is impressive... Kojin does not have an extensive menu, but what we had was excellent. I look forward to going again !

I hadn't been back to Momofuku since Daisho and Shoto had been remodeled into Kojin. Previous experiences had always been stellar but I was honestly too busy to rush back to try things until now. I didn't know what to expect but I always had good results with putting my faith in the restaurant and ordering whatever piqued my interest.
My anniversary seemed like a good occasion to come back, my SO had never been and always heard me rant and rave about the place but didn't get the hype. She hasn't been to a lot of places like this in Toronto so it was hard to describe it to her. But from the get go it was just highlight after highlight.
The staff were amazing and helpful, always very attentive to us and very willing to explain parts of the menu we had questions about. The food had us smiling in wonder and saying "What's that?" as familiar tastes were blended with subtle surprises. My SO was blown away as was I, Momofuku again shattered all expectations I had.
We came here for dinner on a Friday night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had the seafood platter which was incredible! Food and drinks were so good and the service was friendly and attentive. We even received a little postcard wishing us a happy anniversary which was a nice touch. Will most definitely be back! I had visited Momofuku Kojin in November 2018 and had a wonderful meal. Returned January 2019 and didn’t have the same experience. Service was very slow and food showed up luke warm and underwhelming - restaurant wasn’t particularly busy either. Unfortunate as I was really looking forward to this meal. Somm was on point with a great wine recommendation.
The food at Momofuku Kōjin was absolutely phenomenal! The menu offered some very tasty and unique flavours. We ordered the Spiced Honey corn flatbread, and the Beef Drippings flatbread to start, oysters for the table to share, along with the 14oz Ribeye with Coconut Rice and crispy Brussel Sprouts as sides.
The portions were the perfect size, a nice change from smaller and smaller portions seen at most other restaurants in downtown.
The only negative about our experience at Kōjin was with our waitstaff. Our server was quite pushy trying to get our table to order more food. When we inquired if her suggestion was because (in her opinion) it wouldn’t have been enough food to satisfy our table, she couldn’t really give us a straight answer. Clearly I don’t believe it was because of the portion sizes because our group thought there was more than enough food for our group - as I stated above. While we would have appreciated her initial suggestion, I believe it’s ultimately up to your customers to decide whether or not to order more food. The impression that we got was that her pushiness was ultimately to increase our overall bill cost, which left a bit of a sour taste in our mouths.
Overall even though the table service left a bit to be desired, the overall culinarily experience the Momofuku provided to our meal was top notch! Can’t wait to eat here again.
Not only was the food incredible, the service at this restaurant was impeccable. I can’t say more good things about every single aspect of our dinner.
The service was my only complain. This was my 5 th time but the first after renovation. I prefer the previous layout. I like when it was more lights ! The service was way worse- long waiting for the waiter and the food.

Lunch review. Had the lamb and p-bacon sandwich. Also had the shrimp crudo and beef tartare.
The music was just too loud which forced people to talk even louder because we could not hear each other over the table. The food was good but wasn't spectacular. The steak cut was "meh", the melted cheese dish was a little grainy, and brussels sprout with vietnamese fish sauce? (As a vietnamese person, I felt a little cheated on this last one but I'm slightly biaised)
The staff, however, was one of the best that I've had the pleasure to encounter. Great A1 service.

Food was excellent. Only concern was speed with which the service proceeded. We had more than 2 hours available till the next service and the staff pushed our order delivery too quickly. We actually asked to have it slowed down.
I understand a wish to maximize flow through but if we have two seatings, then respect that you are to treat each serving respectfully. please pace the food and service.
This did not occur at our prior visits to Momofuko!!
