Changing with the seasons, our menu starts with meat and potatoes and offers a range of other locally inspired dishes.
The dining room is an extension of the hearth— a warm retreat that brings the outdoors in. Inspiration comes from Executive Chef Paula Navarrete’s childhood in Colombia, spent around the grill, combined with her passion for Canadian produce.

All I can is thet YOU HAVE TO EXPERIENCE IT FOR YOURSELF! the food was awesome, from appetizer to dessert. it has unique taste to its foods and you know they are fresh and made from the nest local ingredients. The butter and corn flatbread we had for appetizer was out of this world! And the steak was to die for, we just devour it after first bite. The servers are so chill and friendly, they made you feel like you have always been eating there. The ambiance is so nice.overall, everything is perfect and we will be coming back for sure.
We went to Kojin for mid-day afternoon lunch. The atmosphere was quiet with a light buzz. The dining area is full of natural light and impressive lanterns. The food was honestly okay. Not the best fusion food I've had. I think the food was catered for westerners - serving a dumbed down, more expensive version of authentic Asian cuisine. For example on the menu ... there was rice grits (another way to say congee). The grilled pork loin (chinese BBQ pork). With these Western adaptation of names on the menu, it left the impression that it Kojin is trying to market to the Canadian palette. The food was also mediocre. BBQ pork was cooked well but not juicy. Crab noodle? Where is the crab? The piece were so tiny that it was lost in the dish. The prices reflected the atmosphere but not necessarily the quality and taste of the dishes.
Phenomenal service by the entire staff
We came for a birthday. It was my third time at the restaurant. This time was not as good an experience as the last
Our reservation was for 8:45 and we weren’t seated until 9:20.
Also our server had a bad cold and probably should not have been working in that condition.
Although the food was good (steak, mashed potatoes, sausages, greens, cake) we ordered a steak to share the server reccomended and said it would be about 6oz each and it was not enough for us to share. Maybe 3oz each. Also I did not ask the price beforehand but it was $245 way more than any other steak on the menu.
Great food, excellent service and very stylish ambience. Great view onto University Avenue, especially at night time.
Enjoyed the food service and ambiance
Expensive for the quality of the food, especially the meats.A decline since our last dining experience.
Momofuku Kojin was outstanding!!!! Every dish from the appetizers to the dessert was outstanding. The wine list is impressive and every dish was delicious, well presented and the service was beyond outstanding.
The chicken in a pot was amazing, the cocktails were excellent and the service from JR (we sat at the bar) was friendly and helpful without being intrusive - great dinner again!
The food was phenomenal and the service was outstanding! Loved my entire dining experience at Kojin!!
Very mediocre food for a restaurant with a renowned chef and association with a top hotel. It was blah, just ok. Lack of flavour in most of the dishes. Meats were served cool not hot and the oysters, although fresh, lacked flavour and were not paired well with the accompanied toppings. Salmon crudo, however, was very delicious.
Seamless experience, great food, superb customer service
Food was good however we felt rushed.
We enjoyed our lunch and the food was superb. I little pricey for a lunch. I would recommend this restaurant for special occasions.
Attentive service. Food was underwhelming for the price. Was asked whether we wanted refills of the cornbread and was charged at the end for this. Chicken in a pot soup was salty and overseasoned. Would not go back.
I was disappointed that my party did not get s seat by the window. We had gotten it when we dined here before so I forgot about asking for it when I made a reservation this time. Also, $150 for a 14 oz T-bone steak was a bit pricey but $68 for a 3 course chicken pot was worth every penny.
The only negatives I would have to say is that some members of my party were very cold and found the restaurant too loud. Otherwise the service and food were exceptional.
Paula is a genius and her team is amazing. Couldn't ask for a better experience.
Appetizers and starters were excellent. The ribeye steak and pork chop main course was very average for the price. Didn’t get a thank you when we were leaving by waitress or several hostess. Probably not coming back.
The food is good. But the steak was ordered as Medium and came as Rare. Very disappointed. Also an hour from the appetizers to mains is far too long.
And the head chef shouting orders and all the superfluous yelling, it makes the experience less enjoyable.
This was our second visit and this was far less enjoyable. Would not recommend it now.
We sat at the “kitchen” table. The chefs were funny, accommodating , recommended food to us. Willing to answer our questions. We had the best steak I’ve ever had hands down.
Food was ok. Steak undercooked. Room is nice but a bit cold (temperature and ambience) The main thing that I found annoying was the service staff. When they changed the plates and cutlery between courses, they would place them randomly, realize that it looked weird and then reach in front of you and start sliding your plate and cutlery around the table to straighten them. It was distracting when you are trying to talk to the people you are with and then their hands have been all over your plates and cutlery.
It's a pricy place but it comes with an amazing view.
It was wonderful. We used OpenTable and got in quickly. We also got our food right away. The pork belly was amazing delicious! I could eat that pork belly bao any time of the day!
We had friends in town visiting from Boston, we all had the most amazing experience and food! So much attention to detail! Even our vegetarian friend felt so satisfied with your veggie options! We will definitely be back again soon!
24 oz Tbone steak was not as flavourful as I was expecting for this quality of restaurant. It was the 'special' and maybe that was our mistake for ordering it. In addition, it cost $158 for the steak alone which we didn't find out until the bill came. The rest of the food and the service was excellent. Great cocktails, wine and atmosphere.
Awesome food ! Awesome atmosphere ! Awesome staff !
Very nice atmosphere.
Clarise and I really enjoyed our counter experience @ Kojin. As restaurant owners we appreciated the interactions with cooks and chefs. We were given hints on prep and mis on some of the outstanding menu items. We celebrated our loving anniversary and will be back to celebrate again pretty well anything.
Overall great experience. Food was very flavourful but I would like the mains to be more shareable and tables to be larger.
Overall experience was average due to the mediocre service. A few of the staff lack basic etiquette
My wife and I were celebrating out wedding anniversary. We were first seated in the dining room right by the window. perfect except the AC was on high and we were freezing so we moved. We ended up at the grill bar where the fire kept us warm. When we sat down Eden our server introduced us to Ben who was managing the grill team. He immediately welcomed us to the grill counter. Ben and his grill team really love what they do and are proud of what they create . Before we even ordered Ben and his team offered up little samples of what they were making. My heart was set on steak but after chatting with his team we settled on the pork chop. It was beyond a doubt the best we ever tasted.
Eden our server was excellent She saw we were in no hurry but she was always there with a suggestion or a glass of wine when required. To sum up the food was excellent, the service flawless, we will be back!
Please don’t waste a meal here there are so many great restaurants in Toronto. I am a foodie and was extremely disappointed with Kojin. We ordered the corn flatbread with the avocado and goat cheese ( basically guacamole and not good) the flatbread was hot and just needed butter and honey. We ordered the 7 bone steak that sounded interesting on the menu but trust me there was nothing interesting about it! Tasteless tough dry they lost the salt somewhere in the kitchen. The wait staff was very inattentive when they figured out how bad the food was.
I would stay away!!!
We had a very good meal at Kojin. That being said we preferred Daisho, the restaurant that was previously on the 2nd floor.
Our overall experience was positive. However, our server was quite awkward to interact with and not especially helpful with the menu.
It was amazing the service and the food was out of this world. Everything was excellent!!!
Came here for lunch the Friday before the long weekend and the restaurant was quiet. Food and services were both excellent and we enjoyed all of the dishes, esp the ribeye, corn flatbread with honey and butter, the cod with congee and greens, and the titas mash. All dishes were made for sharing and the lazy Susan at our table made sharing even easier.
We would definitely come back again.
Great food. Better if you are a few people so you can try more things! But enough items priced well even for dining alone.
Excellent service, courteous and very accommodating as two in our party are vegan. Excellent wine list, they compt us on dish that had traces of cheese in it.
All the dishes were delicious and nicely plated. The 32 day aged Rib Eye melted in your mouth and was a perfect medium rare!
We were on a time restriction ( Bryan Ferry concert) and they got us out on time!
We sat at the chefs bar where you can watch everything come together. Such a great energy comes from watching the chefs pull it all together by feel. And the result was amazing. One of the best restaurants we have ever been too. Only issue is the portions are so big and you want it all. The apps, salads, main course and then desert. So much food. You can easily split plates. Gotta that pork chop next time.
