Lives up to its name for sure. Service was excellent. Menu is phenomenal. Sommelier was also fantastic. We arrived very very late on Saturday night - 9:45pm. Our own issue having to push back our reservation time from earlier in the evening. Recommend earlier resos only to be able to enjoy the ambiance of such an amazing restaurant :)

It was a great family celebration. We were given a great table in the corner by the windows. Every person we met at the restaurant was friendly and attentive. I would definitely go back for another meal.

Service was great. Our main waitress and other staff were all competent, friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself is well decorated but the tables are too close together for an intimate dinner. Food was ok. Steak and sides were all over-seasoned. No premium cuts available in smaller portions.

Although Giovanna, whom I requested, was out due to shoulder injury (Get well soon, Giovanna), my server was also nice and food was delicious. Unfortunately the nice manager who responded to my last Open Table feedback was not on duty so I could say hello, as he suggested.

Absolutely amazing service, knowledgeable staff and overall a great experience. Had the "Chicken in a Pot" main with my girlfriend and would go back for the dish alone. Pricing was very very reasonable for the overall experience.

Such a wonderful experience! Our server was amazing and the service overall was impeccable. Food was outstanding. We had the eggplant with the corn flatbread, popcorn chicken, the ribeye and the souffle. Can't find fault with any of them, the corn flatbread and ribeye were definitely our favourites.

The food and service was great. However, we had a reservation at 9pm, but were not seated till 9:40. Waiting for 40 minutes did ruin the whole experience at the beginning. We ended up sitting at the bar after 25 minutes, until the table was ready. It would be great if a seating limit is introduced to people that take too long to leave. Other than that, the food was great, we ordered the Butchers steak, the burger, side of mashed potatoes and the corn salad.

We had a few appetizers but I find the food did not have alot of flavour, Salmon Crudo Salad was a lot of Cucumber and very little fish, we had Oysters and they were super small and dry as if they had been open for a long time. For a main we had Butcher's steak the meat was nice and the side of Broccoli is cooked with a torch and had a strong burnt and chemical flavor. It was disappointing since it is the #1 restaurant in the Toronto Life magazine.

We had 3 flatbreads, seafood platter, steak and turbot, carrots, Brussel sprouts, chocolate soufflé, some drinks; flatbreads good but only got a small amount of eggplant, ham was good ; seafood platter disappointing - skimpy crab legs, shrimp no flavour, salmon crudo - 2 small cubes; steak was OK not great; turbot was OK; carrots good, brussel sprouts - too charred; soufflé was great, best thing; drinks - no complaints. Food was not as good as expected for price and not a lot of food especially the seafood platter. Service was good.

All I can is thet YOU HAVE TO EXPERIENCE IT FOR YOURSELF! the food was awesome, from appetizer to dessert. it has unique taste to its foods and you know they are fresh and made from the nest local ingredients. The butter and corn flatbread we had for appetizer was out of this world! And the steak was to die for, we just devour it after first bite. The servers are so chill and friendly, they made you feel like you have always been eating there. The ambiance is so nice.overall, everything is perfect and we will be coming back for sure.

We went to Kojin for mid-day afternoon lunch. The atmosphere was quiet with a light buzz. The dining area is full of natural light and impressive lanterns. The food was honestly okay. Not the best fusion food I've had. I think the food was catered for westerners - serving a dumbed down, more expensive version of authentic Asian cuisine. For example on the menu ... there was rice grits (another way to say congee). The grilled pork loin (chinese BBQ pork). With these Western adaptation of names on the menu, it left the impression that it Kojin is trying to market to the Canadian palette. The food was also mediocre. BBQ pork was cooked well but not juicy. Crab noodle? Where is the crab? The piece were so tiny that it was lost in the dish. The prices reflected the atmosphere but not necessarily the quality and taste of the dishes.

We came for a birthday. It was my third time at the restaurant. This time was not as good an experience as the last Our reservation was for 8:45 and we weren’t seated until 9:20. Also our server had a bad cold and probably should not have been working in that condition. Although the food was good (steak, mashed potatoes, sausages, greens, cake) we ordered a steak to share the server reccomended and said it would be about 6oz each and it was not enough for us to share. Maybe 3oz each. Also I did not ask the price beforehand but it was $245 way more than any other steak on the menu.

Very mediocre food for a restaurant with a renowned chef and association with a top hotel. It was blah, just ok. Lack of flavour in most of the dishes. Meats were served cool not hot and the oysters, although fresh, lacked flavour and were not paired well with the accompanied toppings. Salmon crudo, however, was very delicious.
