Service was fantastic. The sushi was fresh and very good, but not mind blowing enough to rate 5 stars. My favorite food was the Duck Breast Skewer with a homemade plum sauce.

Momotaro was the perfect place for my brother and I to go for our night out in Chicago. Our table on the second floor of the restaurant was picturesque. Behind my brother's big head was a mirror on the wall that depicted flowery lamps on wooden pillars. There was a window at the edge of the restaurant that showed off some of the nice views of the city shifting to night. That view was complemented well by the uptempo music being played inside the restaurant. As nice as the interior of Momotaro was, none of that mattered when our food came. After our waitress helped my brother and I plan out our order, we started with edamame; which is always a solid warm up. The best part about finger food is its ability to elicit conversation, which in hindsight may have been stimulated by that fire hot sake. For our main course, we received three rolls of sushi. The first role was as unique as the last, but the one that stood out to me was a smaller roll, topped with a drop of avocado mousse. It came with a lot of flavor, there was a savoriness from the salmon-roll that was paired so nicely to the light sweetness of avocado mousse. Momotaro was a unique experience that broke the ice for me and my brother's night out. Plus, our stomachs were satisfied, can't go wrong.

No joke, the Hana dessert was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had in my life! Drinks were great, service was great, overall a very pleasant night out. Only note was that the vegetarian udon was too soft and not as chewy as I had expected or wanted (I am spoiled after my recent travels to Japan this year and last). The broth was still delicious and I do look forward to eating my leftovers. Thanks so much for a special evening! We’ll be back for sure.

Visiting Chicago for the first time and Momotaro did not disappoint! We sat at the sushi counter and had all sushi dishes. Everything we had was delicious, each bite was a treat! The freshly grated wasabi was a great addition! Would highly recommend!

I had researched places to eat in Chicago weeks before our trip and this place was the one I was the most excited about and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the entire staff was on their A game. They were ALL so kind and hospitable. Our server was phenomenal. I have a gluten allergy and he took the time to explain each menu item with care. I asked for recommendations on what he thought were the best dishes and picked from those. Every dish he brought out was 10/10. From the sushi rolls, sashimi, and main dish. I am so glad I found this gem.

Your food was ok at your price level. Your service wasn't impressive at all at your price level. We got seated for 20 min before any server came to talk to us. We ordered a hot tea, but it never showed up. The water glass took forever for someone to show up to refill. The hot towel was removed before I had a chance to use it. The server disappeared as we were ready to check.
