Montana's BBQ & Bar - Niagara Falls
Ask for Glenda, best server ever! Being Niagara it's busy and maybe a wait so book quickly. Food was good though it took a while.
Our New Year’s Eve dinner was unfortunately overpowered by another patron’s very strong body odour. It was overwhelming and we mentioned it to our server who said they were aware as well, however there was nothing that could be done. As it was New Year’s there weren’t other restaurants, we’d made reservations at Montana’s. Food was good, wine was good, unfortunately the ambiance was ruined by someone’s very bad hygiene. We realize this happens, but it really ruined our dining experience. Thanks.
Booked reservations on opentable. Went to the restaurant and they said that they do not use opentable nor take reservations on the weeekends. Luckily they were able to seat us. Servers seem to be very in experienced. We sat for 15 minutes before having to waive down a server to find our server, in which he volunteered to be our server. We ordered 7oz steak which came out not hot.
Came to celebrate my younger son’s birthday and we all enjoyed. Thanks
Major concern was no onsite parking. Parking was available 1 block away however. Service was good. The food was good and moderately priced.
Everytime I visit this restaurant, I feel like they are under-staffed. Always busy and crowded. The food is good in overall, but I prefer other branches better.
I made a reservation on Open Table a week before arriving at the restaurant. We arrived at 7:55pm & I said we had a reservation for 8:00pm for 8 people. The host said they don’t take reservations during holidays, which doesn’t make sense because I had confirmation that our reservation was booked. I told the host that we booked it through open table & she replied with “oh we haven’t been checking it all day”. I told her “no I booked it last week”. So guess she had no choice but to give us our table. First of all, her response is not acceptable because why set up an Open Table account for their restaurant if they’re not going to check it? Second of all, if they didn’t take reservations during holidays then they should change their settings so that no one is able to book during those times. Anyway they ended up seating us within the next 5 minutes. The food took an hour to arrive after ordering. Food was ok, wasn’t too thrilled. Our order were missing sides, which was taken care of. A server was giving attitude when no one responded “who ordered the 6 ribs meal?”. Well none of us ordered that so no one said anything. It turns out he said the wrong order out loud, he was actually holding on to a 4 ribs meal which one of us ordered. So therefore he was in the wrong & that attitude was uncalled for. Our overall experience was just horrible & we will not be back as there are plenty of other better restaurants in the area that is worth your money.
Food wasn’t cooked properly my steak was too tough to eat. Waited over 1.5 hour to eat from sit down.
They did not seat us. Even though we had a reservation, Montana’s refused our reservation and said we were welcome to wait but they did not know when they were going to seat anyone.
They did not have our reservation when we arrived. Service was slow, some of the requests we made were not accommodated. Overall, given the peak season in Niagara Falls, still was better than other establishments we had visited.
There were several things on the menu that were not available, including a main course of salmon. Which was only told after it was ordered. There was a cocktail drink that was not available and even down to the kids ice cream bar of of only having 1, which we had to switch to something else because there were 3 kids. Kids meals came out after the adult meals, which was not impressive and the rice pilaf looked like it was scraped from the bottom of the pot. I would not recommend this specific location. The manager came over but did not address these issues in a professional manner either.
The best part of our experience was our server, he was nice, funny and most of all, honest .... that the kitchen was having difficulties keeping up. Not sure why, because they were clearly keeping tables open to reduce the work load on the kitchen.
They were quick to put out the meals for our kids, but then ours took a very long time to come out afterwards (kids were long done their meals). When the food did come out, mine was mediocre. The steak was properly cooked and tasty, but the mashed potatoes were a small sloppy spoonful (running out?) with a side of almost cold gravy, and my wife’s meal was edible as the steak was under cooked, cold and over salted. Due to the amount of time elapsed, we could not send it back for a replacement. They comped her meal, but all she got to eat was side of potatoes. The guy at the table beside us almost cried when we sent her steak back, because he was very hungry, and getting tired of waiting for his meal.
All in all, a very disappointing meal out.
Started off saying that I had a reservation for 7 at 6:45pm on Sunday. They said they Do Not take reservations on weekends, which I didn't understand how was I able to make through round table. I was very upset, we just arrived from New Jersey and had to wait for a table. Then on top of that had to wait 35 to 45 minutes for food. No apologies nothing, I will never eat there again.

Refused to accept Open Table reservation. When we arrived they offered to put us in a waitlist for a table (20-30 minutes). Once our table became available, they told us any order from the kitchen would be another 60++ minutes. We allowed 2.5 hours for dinner before a scheduled activity. Between refusing reservation and not informing us of the kitchen delay in advance, we were unable to dine and no longer had time to get dinner at other restaurants. Dinner = food stand hotdogs and pretzels. Very disappointed.
The service was good. The waiter was friendly. It took 15 minutes to get our drinks and 40 minutes for our food (burger and chicken). That’s a kitchen/bar issue, not waiter issue.
Food was okay. Nothing special but good after a long day of walking.

Rating would be higher but for the wait. It took one hour for our food to arrive. While our waiter explained that it was due to forgetting what one in our party had ordered ( that in itself was not a good sign) other parties waited a long time for their food too, on an evening when it was not particularly busy. It is too bad since the food was very tasty, our ribs, steak, chicken well prepared and very tasty.
It was just ok, pretty much as expected.
It was late so it was pretty empty like 2 or 3 other tables and the service was still really slow. Food was ok, nothing to write home about.
Fantastic food and reasonable prices for the Niagara Falls area. Steak was delicious.

Everything good except front doors open in winter and the place was freezing. Everyone was wearing parka and toque during dinner.
The food was not comparable to other montanas I have been to...kitchener, Vaughan, and orangeville were much better food, larger portions and better presentation. I was disappointed. The service was great even though it was somewhat busy.

Our waitress visited us a total of 2 times the entire service. One of our guests arrived late and I had to ask one of the runners to to get our waitress so that we could get a second round of drinks, or a meal for my friend who arrived late. I have had much better service in Toronto, and Orillia. I understand that it is Montana’s and not a high end restaurant, but i shouldn’t be treated like I’m eating at McDonald’s. Sad and disappointed
We were visiting Niagara Falls and thought we would try Montana’s, a Canadian chain, with a great reputation. We were not disappointed! My husband had the steak, and he said it was delicious! I had the ribs and they were fall off the bone! The corn bread was out of this world! We really enjoyed our dinner and we definitely will go back to Montana’s on our next trip to Niagara Falls!

Easy and enjoyable experience from reservation to our meal. Also one of the most cost effective and enjoyable meals we had in Niagara Falls.
Food was decent. Kinda pricey. Nothing to brag about.
Waitress needs to pay attention to all the guests not just the men. My husband let her know it was my birthday and there was absolutely no acknowledgment what so ever. She was in a hurry to have us go as she started cleaning table before we were done. When she brought over the bill my husband once again let her know it was my birthday and all she said was “oh well. Do you want a cookie “. Not very friendly. A real disappointment in comparison to other Montana’s locations.
I made the reservation before reading reviews on yelp which were not favorable. I kept the reservation and was not disappointed. I was with two teenagers and needed something casual. Our server Shantel was pleasant and helpful. The food came out pretty quick and was tasty.
Our visit started out great. Our waiter was polite and friendly. The food was very good...loved the sirloin & delicious baked potato. But the waiter’s efficiency declined as the minutes went by. Half way through the meal, he disappeared for about 20 minutes. Then he told us chocolate chip cookies did not come with kids meals when it clearly said so on menu. He eventually gave them to us but made us feel like we were breaking the rules. A meal that should have taken an hour took two hours because of his sluggishness.
This is a sports bar with screens everywhere. The BBQ was quite good, as was the beer. We sat in a booth and enjoyed the food and the company. 3/4 of us got the sampler which let us try everything. Should have ordered more ribs and the chipotle sauce is excellent. We will return.
Ribs were not tender and I could not finish them.

We arrived on time but the table was not ready and we had to wait another 25 minutes before being seated. The manager did provide two appetizers on the house but the first ignored experience was too great to be compensated. Sorry this booking system just wasn’t effective at all, seems like whoever gets in has to wait regardless of table reservation.
Great food and great service. Best part of being in the falls was my experience with the staff.
