    Good place to eat. Service is hit or miss, we've had outstanding service and lousy service before, all depends on who you get. Hostess service is always on par. Kitchen is generally good, last night it was awesome! They also do an amazing job preparing your reservation table for your celebration if you tell them what it’s for. What I’ve always liked about Montero’s is, the owner is there on the floor checking in on guests and assisting his staff throughout the night. It’s a great quality for an owner to have. We’ll always go back.

    I was trying to have a drink at the bar and my waitress rushed us to our table then we didn't see her for 15 minutes.

    I ordered fried shrimp and they were delicious!! Steamed broccoli and baked potato were delicious! I can always depend on my dinner being awesome at montero's!! Cocktails 🍸 were awesome as well!!

    An impressive restaurant in a nice location in Elizabeth City, NC. Excellent service from all whom I interacted with. Drink menu was filled with new twists and old favorites. Wine lists very good, a couple of other by the glass choices might be nice. Food menu was extensive with nice variations priced in small and large portions which is the way all should be done at this point. Very Satisfying and highly recommended.     I’ve been here a few times before with no issues, but last night was a little different. We had to wait longer than normal for our waiter to come over and ask what we’d like for drinks. Then it took even longer for him to come back and take our food order. The food finally arrived and was alright, but definitely could have been better. The worse part about it was the baked potato was old. Like it had been held there overnight. Outside was hard and inside was on the dryer side. I was hoping for a better experience. However, I will be back in the hopes of having a better time.

    I’ve eaten there 3 times and was very impressed the first two. Not so much this time. The NY strip seemed dry and tasteless even tho it was cooked to medium rare. The pork chops were also dry. It was my first time having these and I was expecting it to be bone in and not just a cutlet. I’ll be back as one bad experience can happen anywhere. It’s still my go to for a great steak.

    The food was excellent. The entrees were perfectly prepared. We had ordered the scallops and the Flatiron Steak. The sides were also good. The baby green beans now have a fan club. Save room for dessert especially the warm brownie with the ice cream. The only thing I could wish for is maybe the lighting was a little softer in the room where we were dining.

    Great place, I am a vegan and my wife is not, but, we can both have an excellent meal together. That is not the case at my restaurants. Highly recommend.

    This is a great restaurant! We're not sure if we go golfing nearby as an excuse to stop here, or if we make reservations here and then decide to play golf. Either way though, we love this place! The menu has a wide selection of beef, pork, Italian, vegan and other dishes. They also offer many of these in half orders, which is a great idea for those that don't want too much food or waste. The owners are very friendly and take the time to explain the menu, if needed. On our visit last night (10/28) it was the "Barbie" theme night, and all of the employees were dressed up in some sort of pink outfit. Really cool and a nice touch. Despite the distance to this restaurant from our residence, we will still make a point of heading their way, golf or no golf.

    My boyfriend & I went there for a date night. The food & drinks were amazing!! Everyone was so nice. My boyfriend said the prime rib was the best he has ever gotten from any restaurant. We always love going to Montero’s. 😊

    Montero’s is in an large old historic house which offers diners a separate experience with lots of small dinning areas and alcoves making each area seem private. The food is outstanding gotta try the banging shrimp appetizer. The pork chops are amazing and don’t forget dessert, love the chocolate brownie with ice cream. The prime rib is also devine. This place is at the top of our list! We had 4 Generations the last two visits! My grandsons spilt the pork chops as it comes with two. My grand daughter insists on prime rib. No kid menus for us. Try this place for sure…

    We drive down from Chesapeake Virginia to Elizabeth city just to go to Montero’s. The food is always excellent. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I can’t say enough good things about it.

    We experienced a great atmosphere with pleasant staff and suitable food. There was nothing the staff could have done better. I would say the prices were about 10% too high for the locale. Those prices I would Maybe see if it was a pier or beach-front.
