   Good food and drinks but holy macaroni, the music was phenomenally too loud. Not bad. Just loud. Went to have some conversation and we had to head off early to find somewhere else to go because we just couldn't comfortably communicate. When I think "jazz band at a scotch lounge" I think of something more chill. Not something that dominated the entire atmosphere.

   As a scotch lounge, it is fairly decent, lots of great selection. Menu needs to be updated to reflect stock. Wanted to try one that they didn't have anymore, even though its still on the menu, and as we were leaving noticed there were several in the bar that were not listed on the menu (that we would have gladly tried) Food was subpar, but thats not why we came

    This place was an experience. The service was outstanding and the expertise apparent. Our server was knowledgeable and super friendly. We were the first ones there and happy to get the place to ourselves for a wee bit. We'll be back. This is a real gem.

    Food, live music and ambience were fabulous. Seating very comfortable and, for half the table, a good view of the band. Difficult to have a conversation during the performance due to the acoustics in the room.

    The bar itself has a great ambience. Very cozy and warm vibe. The selection of scotch that they offer is great and there is definitely something to satisfy everyone's tastebud. The food portions are good but the selection is limited. This is understandable as they focus on their scotches rather than give a full restaurant experience. The staff who attended to our group knew about the scotches on offer, the taste pallet and helped us make the right choice! The flight schedule is brilliant, the pairings of the whiskies were perfect. Overall, a great bar and one of kind experience!

    Perfect evening. Very good food and service. We shared a burger and charcuterie plate. Excellent drinks, wonderful music. Not something we could afford to do every weekend but definitely worth the occasional splurge. So lucky to have this place in Ottawa.

    We loved the ambiance of the restaurant, and the entertainment was excellent and truly made the evening stand out. The meat and cheese board was delicious however, at $45 we felt it was a little over priced. The Charlie's cheeseburger was very tasty however, the burger itself was small, and served with a handful of kettle chips.... I expected better for a $22 price tag. We will definitely visit again for the music and ambiance.

    Fouth and final visit. Not really much of a restaurant. Only five expensive main course (actually very "small plate") items on the menu and, once again, at 7pm and with only four other customers in the place, two of the five items were unavailable. I ordered the $22 cheeseburger which turned out to be really just a single slider that comes with a handful of generic potato chips. I actually laughed out loud when it was brought to me. The only reason I was there was for the 5-piece band that had been advertised (with a reasonable $15 cover charge) and that I have seen and enjoyed elsewhere in the past. At the scheduled 1st set start time of 8pm, only one band member had showed up. I asked the waiter, who was also the door person, what was going on and was informed that three of the band members would not be appearing. Had he mentioned that fact at the door, I would have chosen another entertainment option for the evening. By the way, at least three quarters of the menu consists of fine Scotch whiskys, which is understandable given that it is the Montgomery Scotch Lounge. There is also a choice of three red and white wines and three cans of beer at $10 a can. If you have a taste for expensive whiskys, this is definitely the place for you.

    The vibe is wonderful! We attended one of the Ottawa Winter Jazz Fest events, and of course the music was amazing. The restaurant is in the middle of a menu switch, so many items weren’t available last night. With food prices these days, I would choose flavour and quality over fancy any day. We feel that the food could be improved overall, but would absolutely return for drinks, music, and general atmosphere. Our server was also wonderful!

    Went for Robbie Burns night. Loved the menu (even though there was no haggis) and always love the ambience there. I am very familiar with Irish and Scottish music and wasn’t a huge fan of the duo playing but it was nice to have some Celtic music.

    full house at night with jazz band. If you are coming for the music, try to sit at the front because people were talking at the back. Small plates of food were inventive and delicious. If you are looking for meat and potatoes, don't go there. Very friendly , knowledgable and committed staff. Try a Scotch flight if you want to learn more about Scotch. Great atmosphere.

    Outstanding music. Outstanding Scotch selection. Food was good but $45 for the charcuterie board seemed expensive for not very much, especially as we'd ordered another just 3 days previously at another restaurant which was both less expensive and better. Menu is also very limited. Probably better to eat elsewhere before you go and stick to apps and drinks.

    They were really busy but still didn't get our bill, I had to go up to pay. Not a big deal. But more attention to the tables is recommended. The table where the musicians were sitting got a lot of attention.

    First time going to Montgomery for a Friday night out with friends. We were a group of 6 who have different ideas of drink and music preferences but after the night everyone had a great time. Upon arrival, we preferred sitting closer to the bar which is furthest from the stage because the live music was really loud. Manager and servers were friendly on point and very knowledgeable.     The server took good care of us, e.g. got the music turned down so we could hear ourselves think. It was easy to book online and change the reservation to take advantage of happy hour. Nice intimate venue, really enjoyed Mike Allen and guitar buddy. Pleasant ambiance. The only thing I would like to see is more choice of food on the menu.
