Best meal I've had in literal years. Loved every dish. Just a heads up though that the 4 courses are actually 6 because you get three starters. Which is awesome, but it also means you should carve out at least 2.5 hours for the experience.

Clayton, our server, is the best - the whole staff really! This was our second visit and will not be the last! The amount and quality of the food and wine pairing is a worthwhile treat, such a wonderful dining experience!

Impeccably delicious dinner with wonderful service. Each course (3 starters, two savory entrées, one dessert) was a study in big flavors and imaginative/thoughtful combinations of ingredients, but always well-balanced and thoroughly harmonized with one another. The mole blanco for the shishito-stuffed with chicken/pumpkin seeds was a prime example of how complex flavors are perfectly in balance, nothing competed with something else, just a fully palate-happy festival of tastiness with refined chemistry of yum! Another example was the lamb with a softly-smoky, sweet tomato sauce in subtle counterpoint with purple basil leaves: unctuous, complex, fruity, fragrant, ALL coming together to balance the beautifully pink and finely seasoned meat (and silky delish fat!). A glass of Gamay Fleurie (a strawberry fest with beautiful roundness and background earthy notes) was a perfect pair with the lamb, btw. Thumbs up on the food, extremely gracious and humorous service, cleanly minimal decor. Great for a date night, anniversary, special occasion (optimally for smaller parties of 2-4, due to the scale of the space, though taking over the whole spread for a big celebration could be fun). Looking forward to return many times!

Very thoughtful menu and wine pairing and the staff was outstanding. They brought us complementary glasses of champagne for our anniversary, were attentive with needs and the pace of food and wine and were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They made our anniversary dinner a fantastic experience.

Had high expectations and was disappointed. Pace at which the courses came out was not good. Our reservation was at 8pm and we did not leave until 11:15pm, and we did not have coffee or linger. Not sure if the kitchen was having some issues. First two small courses were good, third was awful and fourth was mediocre. The entree courses were good but not memorable. The best course was dessert..well prepared and delicious. I had the wine pairings with each course and definitely enjoyed them…very well matched to each course and interesting selection. We were there on Sept 16. Overall, not a what I was hoping after having read reviews about Mooncusser. I hope it was just an off night. Our experience was not worth what we paid.

Beautiful tasting menu with delicate, fresh dishes. The ambiance was very modern with thoughtful presentations. I absolutely loved our server - she was so passionate about the dishes, which made it ever more special. She also recommended a fantastic white wine that paired perfectly with everything. I would love to come back and try the fall menu.

The service was absolutely amazing. The waiter was aware of the pace and perhaps the quality of the kitchen and did everything in his power to offset it. I appreciate that the Chef wants to be extremely creative but only one of our multiple plates left us saying I would like to have that again. The multiple tomato dishes were too acidic with no counterbalance. The steak which would have a normal level of fat was accompanied by a salsa verse, awesome, except they added cream to the verde - more fat. The wines selected for the pairing were very well done.

It was a great, 3 hour meal and worth every penny. The wine pairing was nice too. Turned out to be our favorite meal on our trip!!! If we lived in the Boston area, we would go every time there was a new menu!!!

I only write reviews when something is outstandingly bad or great. This is an exception. We have been to Mooncusser a few times - it is our go-to location for celebratory events. Never left feeling anything other than highly satisfied and wowed by the cuisine. Highly recommend it but wanted to provide some advice to the restaurant. This menu wasn't our favorite but that's not the restaurant's fault. What we didn't like - and this will sound strange- is there was too much food. They should go back to providing small portions of the 4 appetizer selections. It was the first time we left feeling uncomfortable. We didn't enjoy the later dishes as much as we would have if there had been portion control on the first few appetizers. My other comment is that one thing i always appreciated is they use spices so well - never too much salt. This time, there seemed to be a bit much salt. Again, highly recommend and will definitely be back!

We had a fantastic time. The food and service were amazing. The wine pairings were some of the best we’ve ever had. Every single staff member we came in contact with were happy, welcoming, and attentive. We sat at the bar and Grant was so knowledgeable of the food and wine pairing. So excited to talk about each course we couldn’t believe he had started recently seemed like he had been there for years.

A really nice space with a good wine list. Food was creative but over-flavoured. Service was quite slow and not very attentive. Had to keep flagging people down to get drinks or ask questions. There were some standout dishes but we have eaten much better for far less money

If you like sea food this is a great restaurant to sample a nice variety prepared in unique ways. The presentation, textures as well as flavours are a delight. Come with an appetite as portions are generous.

Always an excellent experience! The summer menu has a few more courses than usual, and it’s alone of the best so far. Don’t sleep on the steak. It’s really excellent! The wine pairings were great, and our server was knowledgeable and attentive. Definitely one of the best fine dining options in Boston.
