Morton's Grille - Niagara Falls
We had a great time at Mortons! Will definitely be back. Filet was fantastic! Get the mac and cheese as a side. Delicious!
If you have been to a Morton’s before then you should definitely not go to this one as it is not on par with the brand or it’s standards of service at all. You feel like and are treated like you’re at an Outback Steakhouse instead of a Morton’s. There was nothing to note on the food as it was all very good but part of going to a Morton’s is the experience and service of a fine dining steakhouse that just doesn’t exist at this location making you question why are you paying so much to eat on plastic placemats with no tablecloth? It felt that because of the location they didn’t need to try very hard and could cut corners on service. It was very clear no one was interested in our experience or if we would ever back. Overall, extremely disappointing as this was supposed to be a special night out and Morton’s has always been one of my favorites.
Great food, service and view
The food was delicious! Everything was perfect. Would definitely recommend and we will for sure be back
Not impressed. Low lighting which made it hard to see. Food was fair but not great. Service was slow. Not worth the $. View was nice. Won’t be planning on going back.
I have been to the Mortons on Avenue Road in Toronto with friends and it was definitely one of the Top 10 meals I've had in my entire life. So it was with excitement that I took my wife to the Niagara Falls location for Valentines.
Instead I left embarrassed and angry (and hungry).
> The hostess told us a window seat would be 20 minutes plus so we accepted a table without a view but then 2 tables opened within 5 minutes.
> We ordered the couples special. I paid extra for the crabcakes (excellent BTW) but our waitress couldn't explain why the Filet was $20 extra . I would have paid more but she couldn't tell me if it was done the same or anything. She apologize but didn't offer to find out.
> My wife's caesar salad was terrible - the lettuce wasn't even green (it was the cheap white romaine), barely any dressing. She had 2 bites and stopped eating it. The waitress noticed and offered to bring some ranch dressing if that would help. Huh?!?
> I ordered my steak rare - medium rare. They mixed up our steaks and my was grey all the way through (obviously well done)
> I complained so they brought me a new steak while I ate my baked potato. The new steak was such a TERRIBLE piece of meat that parts of it I chewed on for a minute and a half and finally had to spit them out. I guess I should have paid the extra for the Filet!?!
> Baked potato was cold when it arrived.
> my wife said she didn't want desert because she didn't like raspberry so the desert they brought me was plain. WHY?!?
> The manager apologized for all problems so he bought me a glass of wine for all my troubles - gee thanks. That didn't even pay for the meal I had to go buy since we didn't eat much of anything at Mortons.
There are SERIOUS problems with this Mortons location and they either need a complete revamp and re-staffing OR they need to close it because after my experience I don't think I EVER want to go to Mortons again.
Our server was excellent! She made our Anniversary Dinner special!!
It was our anniversary. We had a nice table by the window and our server gave us a card with our picture. Nice touch!
Thanks to Mike and Al for their special efforts that allowed me to use a $300 gift card for the Marriott Fairview, toward the cost of our dinner. They were wonderful. The server Melanie was very good, as was the host's arranging for us to have a table by the window.
All in all, it was a great evening, thanks to the Morton's staff.
Thank you! We enjoyed our meal on the falls. The server was very polite.
It was very nice although the table we reserved wasn’t available.
Great experience. Love the view of niagara falls. Very romantic as well.
The food was tasty, but the add-on’s to the Valentines Day specials were a bit pricey. Our server seemed rushed towards the end of our meal, dropping off the bill without ever even asking if we would like coffee/tea, which we would have.
There are better place to pick in the falls. For food and ambiance
It was very nice! My Husband & I were celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary and the service & food was amazing! Our waiter took a picture of us with a memory frame & brought us a nice dessert with Happy Anniversary written on the plate! That was a very nice surprise! The view was amazing! We truly enjoyed ourselves!
We took advantage of the $100 pet couple February special. It was delicious!
Beautiful view, delicious food and great service! Would definitely recommend to eat here.
They fully acknowledged our anniversary which was so nice and even gave us a photo. We had a wonderful experience.
I reserved a table here while we were staying at the Marriott for my husbands birthday. The accommodations were perfect and our serve Ann went above and beyond. She was such a pleasure and such a warm personality. It was our first trip to Canada and she made us feel so welcomed. Would definitely come again! Thank you Ann!
Visiting Morton's Grille for my wife's birthday meal was a great decision! Food and service were excellent.
We had an amazing meal on the winterlicious menu. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because our server was not that attentive. Every time we needed him we had to flag him down. Other than that the meal was outstanding.
Saturday evening reservation approximately 7:30, restaurant was not very busy (less than half full). The food was great, service was definitely slower than it should have been. If I’m paying that much for a meal, I’d expect more tentative service. It was almost like our server forgot about us at times.
I am a Morton's fan, but this visit fell very short of expectations I am sorry to report. We ordered the beet salad and shrimp appetizer that was very good. For mains, we ordered what Morton's is famous for, steaks. My wife ordered filet and it was fine, but nothing spectacular. I ordered the rib eye and was very disappointed. The tender strip of the rib eye was perfect..tender an full of flavor. The larger part of the rib eye however was tough and dry without much flavor at all. I only ate a couple of bites of that. With cocktails and wine, bill was about $350 Canadian, definitely not worth the price this time.
My meal was lovely. Although the bread served at first was delicious and different for me and being Italian. it tasted more like a sweet bread instead. I think I would have preferred a very nice rustic-like bread instead. Otherwise, all was great.
My wife and I went to this place for our anniversary and John ensured that the evening becomes a memorable one. Dining here was one of the best experiences ever! The food was delicious, the view was great and the hospitality was an all-star! Thank you again, John and everyone else at Morton's Grille! Cheers!
Terrapin Breakfast Cafe was great (which is located at Morton’s Grille) but during dinner it wasn’t at all how we expected. My significant other and I, went for a birthday. At the end, she was gifted a piece of pie, the menu rolled up nicely with a ribbon, and our picture was taken and printed. The waiter was very sweet but more attentive to the table next to us and didn’t really check on us. We had to ask another waiter for assistance with our meal because it was an issue. The atmosphere was very beautiful and relaxing overlooking the falls with wonderful lighting. We didn’t particularly like the food. It was a bit bland to be so expensive.
Weekend at hotel. Went to Morton’s. Enjoyed our meal.
Service was great. Very attentive. Would return
Excellent food and service!
great food, great views. Service was quick. staff were very friendly.
Food was fantastic, look forward to going there again next holiday season
The food was excellent. No worries there, but the price was outrageous. I can say I ate at Mortons - but will not spend that kind of money ever again for a meal.
Exceptional service created a memorable New Year's celebration. Convenience to our hotel was a plus.
I am taking into consideration that I was there for NYE but I am also comparing to Ruth's chris which is where I typically go for NYE. The steak had a terrible aftertaste and was not a AAA. My soup was cold and didnt even melt any of the cheese. I returned it but only when my waiter was looking to bring out the next course as he did not once check on us to see how any of the courses were going. The waiter handling the tables next to us did a great job with her tables and would have had a better experience with her. Your desserts as delicious as they are probably don't need to be that large as most people I saw ended up taking them home as it's an overwhelming size for an upscale restaurant. Your crabcakes are one of the best I've had in ontario (although slightly undercooked but I understand with a NYE rush) and I have had crab cakes all over North American!
Overall the restaurant has a great atmosphere, our waiter could have paid some attention to our table and the steak was rather disappointing. I happily paid over $250 for any of my steak meals but that quality was not up to par.
Enjoyed New Year's Eve dinner at Morton's. Initial experience was problematic as after being seated there was no table service for 20 minutes. Waved down a server who responded promptly and soon thereafter the waitress assigned to our section appeared - explaining that there had been a mix-up in their table assignment system. She also stated that they were not all that busy.
Thereafter the service was good but the initial delayed service set a tone that was difficult to overcome. This was clearly the case where first impressions are so, so important.
Food was very good though quite expensive. Chose starter of meatballs - very large and dense - tasty but too hard and only needed one. Next course was chopped iceberg salad which was good. Main course was tenderloin which was very good. Dessert was chocolate cake which was very dense and almost hard - so not as good as it looked.
Overall, would rate this as a good experience but, given the price, would consider the food and service to not be entirely up to speed on this evening.
This is not Morton’s STEAKHOUSE. the meat choice and lower quality. We originally thought this was the same chain but it is not. I would not recommend.
My wife’s steak was tough and it was the tenderloin. The mashed potatoes didn’t seem fresh at all more out of a package.
Why better options in Niagara’s falls
Overpriced fixed menu. 165 per person is a ripped off !
The setting was nice, Steak was really good, meat ball dish was a disappointment, I can get meat balls anywhere, waiter brought out dirty spoons with desert. Food was way over priced for quality. The molten cake they brag about is ok, not worth $16. I guess your paying for the view....
We have been to several Morton's Grille restaurants before and have always had a great experience. This location was very disappointing. The restaurant was fairly quiet for a NYE but we still had to wait over 5 min to be served drinks, the food courses were practically served on top of each other with no break in between (even though we requested to take our time with the meal). The food was the most disappointing of all. Steaks were overcooked and lacking flavor, the broccoli was COLD, (we were brought a plate of fresh broccoli after complaining) and the flourless chocolate cake was dry and crumbly. Not one person at our table had a decent meal. With all of the add-ons the cost of each meal was over $150.00 pp. For this price I would expect top notch service and food. We will not be back.
