Morton's Grille - Niagara Falls
Expected more from Morton’s. View over the Falls was terrific and perhaps the best part of the evening. Waitress polite and friendly but somewhat vague with answers to menu questions. Kitchen out of several menu listings. Cocktails skimpy. Food terribly over salted across the board whether fish tacos, steaks salad or strip steak. Dessert — ice cream sandwich with “chocolate dipping sauce” was inedible— sandwich could not be cut with a steak knife and dipping sauce was congealed glob.
If this is the quality offered by Morton’s they so not merit any traffic whatsoever....for the prices charged, some quality in food product and preparation should be fundamental. Will avoid
Amazing food, great location, excellent service. Would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone. Very Ontario-wine oriented list, so nice to see!
My husband and I went here on Saturday night for a special occasion. The service was fantastic, as was the food and ambience. We had a great view overlooking the falls, and ate a variety of different dishes, including the wedge salad, shrimp and grits, ribs and a side of mac of cheese. All were delicious, but I especially loved the shrimp and grits. The manager/hostess, Donna, and server, Desiree were lovely. I called earlier in the week to request a table with a view of the Falls, and Donna was so accommodating.
Desiree was very personable as well. If you're looking for a romantic date spot, with excellent views and great food, in Niagara Falls, I highly recommend Morton's, especially if you're staying at the Marriott. The restaurant is located in the hotel, so you don't even need to go outside. The only downside was that the fireworks were cancelled because of the weather/rain, but that just means we'll have to come back another time!
Steak came cold, and potato side was refrigerator temperature inside. Inexcusable for a steakhouse kitchen. Had meals prepared completely again from scratch, and on the good side, they came out tasty and perfect second time. Service handled it well and did their best to make a bad situation good.
Wonderful service & meal. Highly attentive to allergies & sensitivities.
Food and service was awesome . Great appetizer steak was cooked perfectly. Desserts were great large portions. Great place looking forward to going back.
Lovely view. The food was amazing and
The service was perfect !
I asked them to play a birthday music for my sister but they didn’t even care.
We enjoyed the meal at Morton's Grille. The food was as ordered, the service was excellent. The only complaint I would say is that our steaks were cool in temperature shortly after arriving at the table. Not sure what that was about.
Mood and view is good.
Very neat and clean.
Service is good.
Steak and side is so delicious
But pasta and salad are not good.
Server seemed rushed. Food was terrible. Didn’t eat three out of the four meals ordered. Would not recommend.
I have been to other Morton's and was always very happy. Although I made my reservation through opentable, and called the direct number two times, I did not receive a call back to confirm my reservation. The restaurant was 1/3 full which was expected for the time of year, and our server was good.
Perhaps because of the higher prices I was expecting much better food. One of our shrimp appetizers was way under cooked. I almost re-checked the menu to see if it was supposed to be cold or hot. The cold appetizer was great.
My baked potato was cold and was replaced, but my pork entree was grainy and not good at all.
The desert was great.
The consistency of this dinner was no where near what I have experienced in the United States, and probably won't be going to another one again.
I was 10 minutes late for my reservation for my 2nd anniversary. I then waited 10 minutes for the maître d to get through the line of people in front of us to get seated.
She finds me in the system and tells me she can’t get me a window seat because I’m 25 minutes late for my reservation.
Maître d’; Well we have a pretty full restaurant and you’re 30 minutes late for your reservation.
Me: I was 10 minutes late for my reservation I’ve been waiting in line for you to seat the people in front of me for 10 minutes.
MD: Well it’s 7:40 now (it was 7:36) so I don’t know. Let me look.
I was late but if this place runs like this I would have need to be 10 minutes early to get to my reservation on time.
Lying about what time it was really irked me though.
My wife ordered medium rare and got rare but she liked it (possibly more than medium rare) so no harm no foul. The dessert we ordered needed 20 minutes prep but we didn’t find out until the meal was done.
No discounts or any acknowledgement of our anniversary which, I guess isn’t a big deal but if Montana’s can do something at one quarter the price...
One last thing....total bill came to $235 and the tip options were 18%, 20%, and maybe 25% (I can’t remember 18 was the lowest). The gall of these guys. Zero extras or above and beyond service and they magically change the minimum tip on an already large restaurant bill?
Crystal our server was fine. Friendly and courteous, she walked the magical tightrope of not constantly interrupting your meal but not invisible either. I’d have tipped nothing if she hadn’t performed well. I don’t punish servers for bad restaurant decisions. I had to select “other” on the interac machine to tip 15%
My wife and I come to Niagara 2 times per year. Morton’s was our anniversary dinner last year. They will not be our third.
Over priced menu and very little flavour. $50 or more for a steak that had absolutely no flavor. My husband had to use A1 sauce. Caesar salad: small and without bacon or croutons, overpriced and poor quality. Beet salad, mostly greens with 4 small pieces of beet and 2 small crumbs of goat cheese. I was looking forward to trying this restaurant for over a year and was very disappointed. I hate to say it but TGIF makes a better steak and salad. We did not complain to our server about the meal because she was amazing and works 2 jobs. I wish I had of spoke with management though. Live and learn.
Had dinner at Morton’s two nights in a row to celebrate our anniversary. Had Ribs first night. Good sized portion, good flavour but they were tougher than I expected. They were not “fall off the bone” ribs as I expected. Following night I had the hamburger which was one of the best burgs I have ever had. And I am a big eater of burgers. Thought the music was a little loud for one on one conversation but still overall enjoyed the two dinners. Next time I will try a steak as they looked delicious.
The tide has turned. After 2 weeks of mediocre meals, the last 2,weeks have been more like the Morton's we know and love. Keep up the good work.
Service was a little slow near the end of dinner, otherwise ok,
My husband and I went to Morton's Grille while we were staying on site at the Marriott. We only had one night in Niagara Falls and we were so happy we decided to go to Morton's. We made a reservation for 5:30pm on a Tuesday evening, but we really didn't have to because it was a Tuesday in November after all. They sat us right beside the windows. It was dark outside by this time and the view of the lit up Falls and the Christmas lights along the Parkway was so romantic. The restaurant itself was quiet, cozy, and our server Lisa was excellent, as was the food. We went $6 over our lean budget of $50 before tax and gratuity. My husband had the burger, I order the steakhouse chilli, and we could not resist sharing a hot chocolate cake for desert.
Would definitely recommend and return to Morton's Grille when we have the chance!
The view of the Falls is amazing, unfortunately that was all that was amazing. The food was extremely disappointing. Not one in our group of 8 found the food to be better then fare. I had a cocktail that was so horrendous (even after adding more mix) that I left a full cocktail glass. We felt rushed at every point and had we not suggested it we wouldn't have had drinks or starter course at all. I don't even know how they oversalted the matchstick french fries so much that they were not even edible.
Overall an OK experience. Our server was great. Always attentive to our needs. The seating in the booth was way too tight for four people. It is also hard to understand that the kitchen was out of burgers and ribs on a weekend. The value of the meal was not really there. Disappointing.
I can’t say enough about our recent visit. Fabulous food. Amazing service. They made my birthday wonderful. I was beyond pleased. And the pecan bread pudding...delicious!!!!!
Check for tourist tax. It's automatically applied
Extremely disappointed chose this restaurant because it was listed as a Landry's. Wanted to use birthday credit and points was told not valid.
The quality of the food did not justify the cost. The prices are very high for the entrees which would create the expectation of near perfection in flavour, presentation and innovation. Morton's provides none of this. The food was merely ordinary, maybe even sub-par. Also, Matchstick fries are a terrible idea - they become cold in less than a minute. The Keg still has you beat.
Great good and lovely views!
This is the best restaurant in Niagara Falls. Worth every penny!
I would not recommend Morton’s. a better, less expensive meal can be had st the Keg. Way overpriced for what it is. Never going again.
Although good, it should have been excellent for the price. Food and service were good, but at this price good is not good enough.
Disappointed. We ordered Rib Eye but in our opinion it was not Rib Eye. The waitress was polite and understanding, but offered no opinion or suggestion.
While the server was nice enough, he was inattentative to the time passing for the courses being served. It took about 25 minutes for a single crab cake and then it was an additional 40 minutes before I received my 1st overcooked steak with a salad. It took 2 additional times for them to get it close to the proper temperature at which point I surrendered and just ate it. Keep in mind that the manager brought it to me the 2nd time and it was wrong. While she was apologetic, she made no offer to comp any portion of my meal for the continuous delays and errors.
By the way, the steak was not properly seasoned. If I did not add the truffle butter, it would have been the most bland "Chef's Cut Ribeye" in history.
I definitely will not return again.
We were staying at the Marriott for my birthday, so we figured we would try Morton's. We were very pleased with the entire experience. We were seated at a window table away from the bar, so the "noise" was muted; it was not all that noisy to begin with. Our waitress was extremely pleasant and attentive. We order the Prix Fixe dinner and it was fantastic. I had steak - it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. My husband had the salmon and it was a very generous filet. My husband raved about the tuna poke appetizer and the bread pudding dessert I had was to die for (they wrote 'Happy Birthday' on my plate with chocolate sauce) and what a generous serving. The overall experience was everything I could have hoped for for my birthday.
The food was well prepared; I ordered your primo steak $69. plus mushrooms $14.
$85. seemed very expensive for that meal.
Absolutely fabulous! The hostess was wonderful - offered us a seat by the window for our anniversary. All the staff were very friendly and professional. I had the filet mignon and my husband had the New York Sirloin. Both were the best we've ever, ever had. The "Tot-chos" were an excellent appetizer!! I would highly recommend!!!
A perfect and memorable anniversary!
Outstanding food and service, perfect steak
What can I say? Awesome steakhouse overlooking Niagara Falls. Ate here two of our four nights. Great food and service.
Amazing service, unbelievable food, fairly decent view.
Food was great, waitress was even better! She was so sincere, offered great options from the menu, and didnt forget anything. Great meal, great restaurant.
I was pleased that a Morton's Grille had the same outstanding steaks and sides and service! Our waitress was as great as you could ask for!
We were a party of 10 in an otherwise empty restaurant - arrived at 8:45PM for a late meal. We did not mind having a slow dinner service as our group arrived at intervals. The shrimp appetizer was excellent; the oysters had sand in them. The meal was okay; all of our steaks were cooked properly and were served together at the same time. I just thought the overall experience would be better given the “Morton’s” name and the fact that the restaurant was almost empty. They were good about our later night reservation and we were a table of 10, with only one server working the floor.
Having eaten at several Morton’s I was preparedfor the high prices. However, two of ourgroup ordered The beautiful cheeseburger advertised with glorious photos on the elevator doors. Super disappointed!! Burger were small and seriously overcooked. Felt that theburgers should have been fantasticfor the price. Felt ripped off!
