Brian, Brett, Lauren and the staff made me feel very special on my 50th birthday. Always a great experience here. Food was fantastic, service great! Thank you!!!!
Service is always great
Very nice end of the week date night. Service was top notch. We had drinks and an appetizer in the bar area, then moved to the dining room when they started serving at 5. Only complaint was that, seated by the window, there was a cold draft. Still, some coffee and hot food cured that. It’s nice to see familiar faces. The young gentleman at the front of the house, a fellow Yankees fan, was there to commiserate about recent disappointments. Then we had a nice chat with Brandon about his upcoming trip to Spain. We chatted about the impending miserable weather with the gentleman who pours the water and does other important tasks. It’s small things that make the experience of dining personal and fun for us. It makes the experience so much less stiff and formal. It takes a personable staff to offer that, but it’s worth it.
Exceptional as usual
Service was great- very attentive. The grilled asparagus with balsamic was delicious. My medium rare bone in ribeye was quite a bit more rare than I would have liked. Expectations were high and not quite met. Same reaction from others we were with. Good meal and atmosphere, but not Wow.
Our experience at Morton's was terrible. The food was good but not great, although very expensive. The service was worse than poor! Even though there were only three other tables dining, we waited endlessly for service and this continued all evening. The wait staff was far from attentive to say the least. We have dined at Morton's in Phoenix numerous times, always experiencing a wonderful evening. It is sad that we will not be able to do this here in Rochester......
Food was delicious! Everyone enjoyed their meal. Drinks were a bit slow to arrive hence only 4 stars for service. Definitely recommend.
Our server, Brandon was excellent. He assisted with the gluten free needs of one of my guests. She has a medical condition that requires her to be very strict with any foods containing or cooked with gluten-containing foods. She was able to enjoy a wonderful meal.
Earlier this week I was in Rochester for a yearly business conference and had the opportunity to host a business dinner for 8 people. I had never been to the Rochester Morton’s before, but chose it because I have had good experiences at other Morton locations and wanted to impress my guests.
Unfortunately, that did not happen. First, the dinner started with only 5 menus that we had to pass around because and I quote; “we do not have enough menus to go around.” The restaurant was barely thirty percent full, but we were told there was giant party in the back that had all the menus. That could have been understandable except it was a lie, there was maybe a party of 10 back there. We also had 2-3 different waiters throughout the night because they were very under staffed and all had to run around. It took an unreasonable amount of time, over 30 minutes, to get cocktails and order appetizers. With that being said, the oysters and scallops that we had for appetizers were very good.
Moving on to Dinner; our entire party ordered steak entrees. Three guests commented their steaks were delicious. The others were not impressed, including my steak which was overdone. One guest’s steak was raw, so he sent it back. It returned a little warmer but still rare at best. He could not eat it. Dessert menus were brought while two people were still eating their steaks. We did not order dessert and we were still there for three hours… which is a very long time.
As I said, I have visited other locations before. This Rochester Morton’s is not up par with the rest. When I pay over $1,000 for dinner, I expect it to be perfect. It was embarrassing for me and Morton’s should also be embarrassed.
Another great meal at Morton's! This was our first time at the one in Rochester, and it did not disappoint. I had the cajun seasoned ribeye which was delicious as always, along with a wonderful Caesar salad. My wife had a $64 special 3 course meal which she loved...lobster bisque, 6 oz. filet mignon with lobster tail, shared side of Brussels sprouts, and white chocolate pecan bread pudding. Also, the (complimentary) fresh baked loaf of onion bread with freshly made butter was amazing! Our server, Adam, was wonderful.
Very nice. Our waiter, Brandon, was great, as usual. Great service makes the dining experience. The food was good, if pricy. I thought the seafood platter for two was a little small for 58.00, but the other parts of the meal were decently priced for a high end restaurant. We’ll definitely be back.
My wife and I went to Morton’s for our 5th anniversary...I’ve been to them all, from CA to NYC!! What set Morton’s apart was their COMPLETE attention to detail w/ a great local flair. I’ve had 5 star food many places but this was a very special feel. Michael is a total pro and their staff highly trained. There are fantastic restaurants in this area but the experience was unbeatable because of the pristine, personal & professional service. For an occasion...It’s a must!!
PS...Even the menus presented had “Happy 5th Anniversary”...Just got better from there!!
Wonderful service, quality food with no detail left unattended. This place is becoming my favorite steak house in the Greater Rochester area. I guess we qualify as regulars even though we only come in when there’s a deal. That said, to get an amazing 3 course meal for <100.00 is irresistible, but the service, food, and ambience seal the deal. Music could be a little softer. I should have said something and they would have fixed it. It’s really nice to talk to the host about the Yankees. Sometime we also start in the bar for “Power Hour” discount drinks and snacks. Nice dinner!
Good business meal, shrimp were great, the wrapped Mitzi cheese very good.
Mixed on the food - some great but other steaks not so great. Very expensive for them to miss on anything.
We were so impressed with the staff’s attention to detail. I booked our reservation online and included a note indicating we would be celebrating a graduation.
Wow, were we surprised to see that each of our dinner menus included a message that said “Congratulations on your University of Rochester Nursing School Graduation!”
Our waiter Jim was wonderful as he happily answered questions and offered great recommendations. After placing our order, the friendly gentleman who welcomed us at the door offered to take a group photo and presented it to the graduate in a lovely Morton’s Steakhouse folder with a hand written note. What a nice way to remember such a great evening.
The food arrived quickly and everything was delicious.
The chopped salad was amazing and the bread was to die for, freshly baked, still warm, and pleasantly different from your ordinary bread basket.
The steaks and sides came out piping hot and did not disappoint.
My only criticism is regarding the survey. When asked to evaluate value, I think of sales and special offers. We didn’t choose Morton’s because we were looking for a bargain. We chose it because we wanted a memorable experience with great food.
That’s exactly what we got, and it was worth every cent.
Great place with great food ! A little pricey for the area. Slam dunk in dining!
Valet was backed up/not experienced & we had to park own car... told them we had a show to get to.. had 2hrs but too long of a wait for food to come out that we were rushed & had to pack it up to go
LOYAL CLIENT,WENT LAST YEAR FOR MY SON JORDAN BIRTHDAY AND THEY HAD MENU'S PRINTED IN HIS NAME,THIS YEAR ON HIS BIRTHDAY AND HE IS HEADED OFF TO COLLEGE THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THAT. MORE THAN FRIENDLY THEY ARE GENUINE
Spectacular food. Service exception and very professional.
Wonderful experience. Food was outstanding as was the service. Staff took great pains to make sure we were well taken care of and enjoying every part of the meal. Highly recommend for both a nice night out and any special occasion.
We chose Morton’s for my mom’s 87th birthday dinner and we’re so glad we did! The waitstaff was wonderful, all of the food was outstanding, and everyone went out of their way to make it a special evening for my mom. We definitely recommend Morton’s!
The Morton’s in the Hyatt in Rochester is very nice in almost every aspect: service, food, ambiance. It’s pricy, though, for good, but not necessarily extraordinary, food. We took advantage of their summer ‘prix fix’ menu and we had a Landry’s discount and it was still over 100.00 for just dinner, no drinks. That’s prohibitively expensive for anything but SPECIAL occasion dining. That aside, the service and ambiance was exceptional. The food was as good as it should be for how much it cost, but nothing out of the ordinary. Good steaks, properly cooked, good starches, good veggies, and good, if a little small, desserts. We had a pleasant time and enjoyed ourselves.
The restaurant called to confirm our reservation and asked if it was a special occasion. I informed the hostess it was my father's birthday. They made a special menu with his name on it. It was a low cost, exceptionally special detail that had a huge impact on my father. They made him feel special and that earns customers and loyalty.
Excellent service & delicious food. Perfect ambiance to celebrate 3 Birthdays!
Erin was our waiter, very nice and sweet.
The food and service experience was awful.
We had 2 of 4 dinners come out over cooked.
We ordered a soufflé ahead of time...chocolate.
It came out as berry and our waiter tried to tell us there was brown in it.
It was a special award dinner and it was 2 and half ours of pain to send things back and get the bill settled.
Sadly you can’t redo a special night that goes so wrong in both ends of service and food prep.
Very unlike our past Morton’s dinners.
And, when asking for mint jelly for the lamb, we were told they are our this week but other people have also been asking.
How about someone stops at a Wegmans or Price Chopper to pick it up?
$1.39 for mint jelly for a $45 meat platter...
Good trade off
Jim is a fantastic server. He was extremely knowledgeable regarding the dishes and tuned into exactly what our preferences were. This is the second time that Jim has been our server in the past month. He's phenomenal. The food was top shelf and came out very quickly. Three people in my party of Six had the mixed grill. The variety, value, and quality was very impressive. Not only was the main course outstanding, but the desserts are out of this world. Both of my sons repeated what they ordered last time. A slice of key lime pie and the carrot cake. One bite of either of these, and you're in heaven. I can't wait to come back.
We were in town for a business function and looking for a good meal. Husband had lamb chop and loved it. I had the filet Mignon. We had the colossal crab for an appetizer but feel $22 was a bit pricey for what was served. I wasn’t a fan of the asparagus as it had balsamic vinaigrette drizzled over it. Overall was a good experience and meal. I didn’t realize it was a chain.
Food was terrible! Food was terrible! Food was terrible!
This lace was wonderfully romantic. Service was sweet and impeccable. Was expensive, but we got what we paid for. Nice treat for that very special occasion.
Great service and food. Celebrated with a party of 9! Servers were helpful, quick with requests and knowledge about menu and how dishes were prepared. We have someone who had several dietary restrictions and servers were extremely helpful. A very fun night and great atmosphere.
They were out of rib eye, out of key like pie, out of cheesecake and it took our food 1.5 hours to come and we never received our appetizers.
Waited over an hour and 15 mins for a medium well steak, when it finally came 35 minutes after my children received their food it was still bloody. I had to send it back and by ghe time it came back out my kids had finished their meal. I ended up eating alone. I also ordered tenders from the bar bites menu for my 5 year old and they came with spicy buffalo sauce on them, which he wouldn't eat and then I had to send them back, my waitress stated the tenders come like that, the menu did not specify that. Then my daughter ordered the steak tacos but asked for them in a hard shell, the waitress never advised us before the tacos were brought out that it couldn't be done that way. Instead she brought out her tacos on soft shell and said the cook stated the steak pieces were too thick to fit on hard shell. Would have been nice to know before the food was brought out in the event she may have wanted something else. The crab cake patties taste extremely fishy, the menu said crab blts but the patties were just laying on a piece of lettuce, I've had better at less casual dining restaurants. Beside that the onion bread was delish, the cocktail I ordered was really good, but for $13, my small cup could have at least been filled to the top, I got about 3 quarters of a drink. The steak was good once it was finally brought out. Oh yeah, for the amount of money I paid for the nine in rib eye I was expecting sides, I was extremely disappointed none of our meals came with any sides, they all had to be purchased separately. I ordered fries that cost me $14, I had the option btwn reg or parmesan truffle I believe, I ordered reg and they even taste like they had a cajun spice to them. The steak was good but I dint think I'd ever go back just due to the service that was provided and the amount of time I had to wait for a simple steak! Its unacceptable to have to wait almost an hour and a half for a steak point blank period!
Really wanted a special night for my son who graduated from college. Unfortunately the service was very slow and my father got a tough steak. It was not this restaurants finest service.
Our son’s college graduation. We called ahead to let them know that it was a special occasion. They had a special menu printed with a personalized congratulations message to my son. Soon after, a staff member came by and took our group picture, which he later delivered to our table. The food and service were excellent. Perfectly cooked and very attentive service. They made this a memorable evening.
Service was the absolute worst. 8:15 reservation seated at 9 and dinner came by 10. Totally overwhelmed that night. Expect more at that price point.
Extremely disappointed. My meat was undercooked and was eventually removed from the bill after sending it back to kitchen and still failing to get it to proper temperature. Potatoes were room temperature and also were sent back to be reheated. Asked for light dressing on salad...it was drenched in dressing....asked for light ice in drink...it was filled to brim. Final straw for me was server pouring coffee overshot the cup and some coffee pooled in the saucer. Absolutely no offer to bring me a clean saucer or, at a minimum, a cocktail napkin to soak up the spilled coffee. A restaurant of that caliber, charging top dollar, needs to do better than that.
Service was top notch, meals was delicious, everything was perfect. If you looking for fancy dinner and dress up .. this is the place go too ..
The entire meal was delicious. Servers were attentive and the chocolate lava cake was heavenly!
