    Amazing food. Love retro decor. Needs some cleaning . Floors sticky and some areas a bit slippery. Walls need some cleaning also.This area is not the best part of town. PLEASE DON'T LET THAT STOP YOU FROM GOING TO THE MOTEL RESTAURANT. It's an amazing little place. AMAZING FOOD AND STAFF. Will go back for sure. H. C.

    Pros: Incredible food, impeccable and gorgeous plating, perfect and unique flavour combinations. Simply amazing food in every way. Group of 5 said it was the best brunch they had ever tasted. Cons: Absolutely no substitutions allowed from the menu (hard for picky eaters). Music is super loud, 2 people out of our 5 wore earplugs for the meal. FYI Menu and paying is via QR code only.

    Food and ambiance were good, as expected as this wasn’t my first time there. Service could have been better. The reservation said that we have an 1 hour and 45 minutes for our reservation but we were being rushed out (actually told us that our time was up) at the hour and thirty minute mark.

    Hey there, To keep reservations as an option for our guests there has to be time limits on tables. When we do not have anyone booked after the current guests, we do not enforce this policy. The time limit during busy times is 90 minutes. This is written on OpenTable when you book & mentioned to you as soon as you seat. We assure you we did not enforce this policy early.     One of my favourite places for breakfast! Food is delicious and the presentation is awesome too. The owners and servers are very nice and they took the time to check on us a couple of times even though they were very busy. Only reason why I didn't give it 5 star all around is because it is very noisy, I think it must be the high ceilings in the building? On a previous visit I was able to get a table outside and that was much better but the patio was not open this last visit - maybe short staffed?

    Ordered "The Travel Guide" omelette which was delicious but, the tater tots are my weakness. However, it could get a bit noisy and hard to hear when it gets crowded and you are close to the speaker but, that's to be expected during peak hours. I love this place because you can go their for brunch any day of the week!

    I expected Edward Scissorhands to clear tables with Motel's 1950's vibe, lots of turquoise, pink, white and gold and painted graphics on the patio by Shaun Holler--? Lively music, the volume of which could have been lessened for a Friday morning but with a summer long weekend ahead, it's fine. Have read many nice reviews and articles about Motel and booked ahead due to the distance we had to travel. Both 'The Travel Guide' and 'The Bellman' were generous and delicious, my wife also ordered a 'Naughty Chambermaid.' Our waiter was excellent considering it was her first shift and we peppered her with questions that were all happily answered. Would have preferred a Matcha Latte to their Chai Latte but none was available to order from their menu. Upon arriving we found the interior smaller than imagined with a table pressed up against the bar and chose to sit on the patio which was bright and airy. In an interesting neighbourhood of Hamilton but no Ottawa or Locke Street...it's developing. Open M-Fri 10-3 & weekends 9:30-3. Online ordering, payment, take-out and pick-up available. Worth a visit, you'll be happy you did. $100/2 all in.

    I appreciated the ability to make reservations online. We arrived 15 minutes early and were seated almost immediately. We had two different vegetarian dishes. Both were underwhelming. It was my third time at Motel and my husband's first time. We will stick to Stacked.

    Food is always great but the music is too loud, we asked them a few times to lower it. We love music but when you can’t hear the person across from you then you know it’s too loud.

    Great food! Great coffee! ! Went for a get together with some old friends I haven’t seen for months but music volume was very loud for a small place and we couldn’t hear each others conversations. Asked if they would be able to turn it down a little bit that suggestion not taken very well and I didn’t think they did it anyway. Would not go back just because of the music level. Had a great recommendation to visit there and perhaps just not a good venue for us

    This is our new favourite place for brunch. The menu offers a wide range of delicious and playful dishes to satisfy any appetite. I made a reservation on their sweet patio for our anniversary and the service was above and beyond. They made sure to make us feel special by adding candles to our bowl of tater tots!     We loved our first visit and will be back. Food was delicious with just the right flair of unusual and stylish. Portions were huge, so you get your money’s worth. Cocktails looked fab but I didn’t have one though my husband did and enjoyed it. Music was upbeat and service was genuine and good. So much starting to happen in this area of Barton! Only complains were 1) bathrooms could have had a bit more Mr. Clean and 2) a tad warm (though that could have been my matronly hormones). Overall loved it.

    Not worth it. The food was good, nothing special and there are absolutely no substitutes, which is fine but they won’t even let you take something off the dish. Drinks are over priced for how small they are, juice or coffee & the service is baseline.

    I went to Motel to celebrate my birthday, and it was my first time on the patio - it was great! I got the BLT sandwich with a side of hollandaise and it did not disappoint.

    The music in the restaurant was so loud, we couldn’t hear eachother speaking at the table. While the food was good, and the quality was wonderful, it did take awhile for it to get to us.

    It was okay. I doubt we will be back to dine in. Service was meh, our server didn’t seem like they wanted to be there and didn’t check in to see how the food was. It was extremely loud but it’s a big open room. We would probably just do take out and not dine in again. Being cashless, card only also sucks. Not sure if it’s because the restaurant is Barton so then there is no cash on premises so less chance of robbery?

    Food was delicious but the service was lacking. Had to get the servers attention for coffee refills and to order food. 1.5hour seating time which felt very rushed, couldn’t enjoy the food. 2hours would be more fair especially since our food was delayed coming out. Was waiting for a box and the server didn’t come over to check on us until they wanted our table for someone else. Felt forced out.
