Amazing cocktails. Unpretentious and tasty - with a nod to classic cocktails. The small bites are great as well. The fries, karaage chicken, and Tres leches cake were so tasty - they were well balanced and complimented the cocktails. Staff (Talia) were friendly and helpful as well. One of my favourite spots for spot-on cocktails.

This was my fifth time coming to Mother, and the fourth time I get to bring a friend who has never been. This is one of the few places I have no fear of hyping up, because the quality of the drinks, food, service and all-around ambiance is always on point. I already have two future "dates" planned... With people to whom I've hyped the place up, ha ha Keep doing what your doing!!

The ambiance is super chill and chic at the same time. Nice music band on Tuesday and Sunday. Mixologist are super talented and cocktails are really good and well balances. Really great time, will come back!

I cannot recommend Mother enough. I was torn between writing this stellar review or not writing anything at all - reservations are not as easy to come by as it is! But Mother truly provided a wonderful experience. I sat with a friend at the bar to celebrate a birthday, and we had the loveliest server from Hana (who was also celebrating a birthday that day!). The drinks that we ordered were delicious (really innovative blend of ingredients and wonderful technique in preparation) and we were also comped a free dulce de leche cake for my birthday! 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone looking for a great cocktail experience.

Mother cocktail bar is by far one of the best bars and spaces Toronto has to offer. Their attention to detail from their incredibly crafted cocktails to the limited but nuanced food menu never cease to absolutely amaze me. They elevate the standard of all the bars in the city while never projecting any sense of pretentiousness and providing a welcoming and inviting space . They deserve every accolade they have been awarded and more. Thank you.

I’m not sure I would return. Two drinks were impressive for their taste, balance, and originality but the rest of the night was a mixed bag. We were surprised with a birthday dessert but later charged for it. When we arrived for our reservation, the hostess said our table was being cleaned and we waited outside. The crowd outside seemed quite juvenile and unsophisticated, making us question if we made a mistake choosing this bar. We were left waiting for at least 15 minutes in the heat and considered leaving. Inside, the service and ambiance were much better and were closer to expectations, although for a bar this well-rated, the presentation with the painted garnishes on half of our drinks was not impressive. The waitstaff were friendly and knowledgeable about the drink menu. We had indicated the reservation was for a birthday and were presented with a serving of cake with a birthday candle, which was a very nice touch, however, when given the bill, I noticed the cake was on charged but did not want to be difficult so I paid it anyway. After leaving, it left a bad taste in my mouth and I regret not speaking up as it felt like we were tricked into getting this cake that we did not ask for. Looking at other reviews, it seems that this has happened to others before so it may not have been a simple mistake!

It was our first time visiting Mother and we had a fantastic experience. Out server Julia was very welcoming, friendly and more than happy to make recommendations from the menu. We made a reservation for patio seating which despite being a small space, was cosy and comfortable. Having lived in Sri Lanka years ago, I was intrigued to try the Toasted Chai Pina Colada as it was described as “a winter journey to Sri Lanka”. Creamy and fruity, without being too rich and still allowing for the lemongrass rum to shine through, this cocktail was well-balanced and the perfect summer beverage. My companion ordered the Honey +, which was so sippable we could have ordered multiple rounds of this drink alone. Both drinks were memorable in their own right, and I look forward to returning back here again!

I’m sorry to say this was a disappointment. Number one downfall was the menu of cocktails. I was uninspired by the drink options and what I did get was forgettable. My friend’s pasta dish was half eaten and we left after one round of drinks to find another bar. Service was fine, they accommodated our request to move outside, which was nice. Unfortunately not a place I would return to. Sorry!

Didn't have any food but the cocktails were delicious and very unique - which can be hard to find in the city! The staff were all very lovely and hospitable. It's a small spot, so seating isn't the most comfortable, but all in all a really enjoyable experience and I would definately return!
