We were lucky to get in to take part in the last day of the Bavarian Bbq. Food was delicious and service was very attentive and professional.
Fantastic set up. Fun and fab food. Live entertaining and generous portions. Great experience.
OK. Not too bad!
Fantastic and fun venue. We're going to miss it this winter. The manager was really wonderful as was our server. The food was delicious and a great value. It was so nice to have some live music as well. Highly recommend it and we really hope it'll be back next year.
Oktoberfest menu was fantastic. Service was great and the live music was perfect.
Food was great the only complaint was the food got cold too quickly.
We were not aware that the Fairmont was offering Octoberfest dinneron the rooftop when I made reservations online weeks earlier. Decor looked great, seating was uncomfortable. High Stools with no backs, tough on our aging back plus the table had huge legs so you couldn't even sit close to the table without leaning in and legs hit the bottom of the table, most uncomfortable. The salads were fair but the potatoe salad had way too much mustard, very tarty! Even though the actual entre was generous in quantity for 2, it wasn't very enjoyable. 3 different types of sausages, (not fans of sausages), 2 pieces of dry chicken and one piece of pork. It definitely wasn't a healthy menu in regards to the vegetables etc. The meal was very overpriced. Overall we were very disappointed as we were looking forward to a classy, top notch meal with a white tablecloth setting.
Amazing! Food, service, environment were all spot on! Highly recommend to grab a table before this pop-up restaurant closes.
Loved it!!! Great idea and would love to see it continue year round if possible
As we where born in Germany, we where quite disappointed in the food (not enough spaetzle/knoepfle and the sausages where awful). Also to mentioned that we got told after 2hours and $300 later to leave as the table had another reservation.
first and last time for us
Great dining experience- will definitely keep an eye on this space for the next pop-up. Tarun and team did an impeccable job on the Octoberfest Theme!
It was an amazing and last minute decision. The food was delicious, outstanding service, super friendly staff, fun atmosphere. Totally recommended for families and kids! 🤩
Excellent food and service. The octoberfest pop up was amazing.
Food was plenty and tasty, although the sausage was ok, not the best I’ve had. The band was planning a mixture of music, good fun tent set up mimicking Oktoberfest was cute.
The listing on Open Table gave on indication that this pop up venue on the night we booked for was an Oktoberfest. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The staff and service was great. Really enjoyed the musicians, they played great tunes but not so loud we couldn’t have a conversation
Food generally really good, though sausages were a bit disappointing. Was seated right near the heater and it was so loud (and hot) and could hardly hear the music over the sound of the heater. So that was disappointing - if we were sitting somewhere decent I think the night would have been much better.
Delicious food and festive atmosphere!
Great Food, Wonderful Music, Friendly and Accomodating Service, With Beautiful & Fun Ambience! Our 4 year old loved it! We will definitely spend another October Fest at Woodlands!
This was such a lovely delicious dining experience. The chef’s were fantastic about our daughters food allergies and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for her. We will definitely come back again to this event.
We had such a fun night. The food was excellent, music fun and service was impeccable.
The family style dinner was amazing. The portions was very large and was given a takeout container to take home. The beer prices are very fair. Highly recommend the Mulled Wine. The tables are well spaced out for social distancing and the service was great. Highly recommend making a reservation to go.
Really great pop up! The food and service were great-Excited to see the next!
Someone recommended this venue and I was skeptical as my hotel front desk was not even familiar with it. It was amazing! Food selection, taste, and service were all top marks. So much food for the two of us, we took some home which was encouraged! I recommended this to anyone thinking about it. Cost us just under $170.00 CDN for the two of us including dinner, bucket of 5 beers, tax and tip. We were celebrating a birthday so the expense was worthwhile and this experience made it worthwhile to our last cent!
Great experience. However food was served a little fast and then got cold. Overall, thoroughly enjoyed it!
Good idea, poor execution.
An upscale summer bbq sounds like a great idea. However, it wouldn’t sound right when the meats are dry when you have to desserts and both are as another reviewer posted... just meh.
I was expecting to be dazzled by the views and the food, but we only got the views.
The only thing that is worth the visit, is the singer, and rather than a fixed priced bbq menu, I would suggest drinks and small plates.
Our other issue was that according to the website, kids under 5 are free. We were charged $29 for our 4 year old daughter and there was another bogus charge of $15.
I didn’t complain... I just didn’t want to have to add more sourness to our night, especially when the singer lifted our mood significantly (no matter the quality of the food).
I think that the place can be a lot better up to par with other Fairmont’s or the other restaurants around Whistler. They just need more attention to the meats and really try to push the envelope if they are serving “upscale” bbq...
beautiful venue on the rooftop of the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. The marquee tent had beautiful decor, was spaced well, and made us feel welcome and comfortable, all while ensuring our safety and well-being. The food was excellent and very good value. The barbecue was so tender and the salads were very surprising. The sides were just ok and the raspberry peach dessert was too florally for my liking. The chocolate mousse on the pecan pie was sooo good though! Our server Nanette was very attentive and personable. Drink selection was good, although we're pretty sure we did not get a sangria as ordered, but more a spiked lemonade, which we enjoyed nonetheless.
I did appreciate that the restaurant uses some ingredients they grow on site in their own gardens
The live musician on was fantastic and the music volume was appropriate and not too overbearing.
We wish we were able to come back for the Oktoberfest themed event they are putting on.
I highly recommend this restaurant and am sure I will visit again!
We had a lovely anniversary dinner. The staff were friendly and the food and service were excellent!
Wonderful experience! Loved the set menu and the live music was a bonus!
A nice , friendly casual dining .
Food was good and the service was great .
Amazing service, amazing foods staff couldn’t do more for us. Made our anniversary feel special. Brennan our server was great!
Food and staff were excellent
We celebrated our 43 wedding anniversary by staying at the Fairmont and treating ourselves to the roof top bbq. It was outstanding. Lots of delicious food. The service was excellent! Had a wonderful conversation with Tarun Bhatia. Director of Banquets. He made us feel like we were part of the family. Highly recommend this dining experience. Thank you for making our anniversary special 💕
I can see a family with kids enjoying this but we were hoping for more of a fine dining experience. The steak was marinated and well done - ribs were ok - none of the salads were great or made sense - it was just meh...
Recommended by a friend. Recommended to more friends. Service was great. Great Covid Protocols. Food was great. Very innovative idea.
Tarun and his staff are extremely warm, welcoming and accommodating to all of your needs, including specific dietary necessities. Honey has been our server for our 3 visits for the summer season and she is incredible.
Fantastic experience. Great fun for a date night. Live music, excellent food and very friendly and attentive staff. Would highly recommend :)
I celebrated my daughter’s 30th birthday there and we couldn’t of asked for a more welcome magical night. Nanette was our server and she was so over the top we couldn’t believe it and a manager assisted her in serving us and we didn’t get his name but he was fantastic. They both went way out of their way to make our night very special event and they were successful in doing that! The live music was wonderful and everybody seemed so happy! We would definitely recommend woodlands rooftop we had the family style barbeque and it was by far the best barbeque we have ever enjoyed!! Five stars all the way!
Just love how they transformed
Lovely meal! Massive portions. Great location!
Tons of delicious food and the staff was great. Live music was a nice touch too
