The food was very good and our waitress provided good service
Mediocre service. Drinks (even waters) took a while to be filled/topped up. No consistent check up. Food was not cooked to liking. Asked for medium rare, came out medium - almost no pink. Beets were undercooked and inedible. Did not enjoy, nor finish food for this reason. Party of 7 rated average 4/5 out of 10. Will not be coming back anytime soon.
I guess the waitress finishing her shift soon we are under the pressure that she is rushing us for the food and the bill. We didn’t enjoy as we were last time . All night we heard things broke or dropped.
I went to another Moxie yesterday across from QE theatre the service is excellent. My husband I enjoyed our dinner before the show.
I saw my girlfriend have the chipotle mango chicken , it looks very good so I ordered mine the next day. The food is good except the sauce too salty.
For time to time we always go to Moxie bar and grill. It's always good, people, atmosphere and food.
We had a couple allergies in our group and the manager came over to verify everything. Extra care was even taken when bringing out our meals so as to not cross-contaminate. The service was professional and the food was delicious.
very good service and food. The restaurant is good for gluten free dining
someones meal never came when everyone else's did, so i chose not to pay for it 💁🏽♀️
We have eaten at this restaurant a number of times often to celebrate special occasions and are never disappointed. The variety of choices on the menu, the friendly attentive staff and courteous service are a constant. There is enough of a variety to please many different tastes.
We liked our meal at Moxie's, service was excellent and very prompt. Portions were generous and food was well prepared and delicious.
The only negative was the noise. For some reason, the restaurant has loud "music" of which only the bass part can be heard as conversations around us were also loud, I imagine so that people could hear each other over the noise from the speakers. This is generally a problem with many casual restaurants and the reason we will likely not return.
Took 25 min for me to get a my salad appetizer then another 30 min to actually get my dish. Waiter never checked on us. Food wasn’t anything good or even worth waiting for... I was sitting at the restaurant for an hour and 45 min...
Food & Service was great. Thank you.
Went for the dine out menu & was very disappointed with the meal. Thought I was getting ribs that turned out to be a pizza. Nothing special at all. In fact, it was probably cheaper getting the food off the regular menu, than what we paid for the dine out menu, which didn't make sense at all. Was supposed to be a special birthday celebration which turned into a very disappointed evening. Also the bathrooms were very messy & not kept clean at all.
I never understood why would restaurants have to play loud music. Every one who is trying to have conversation starting to speak loud in term creating very noisy environment.
My husband and I came in to Moxie’s because of the Dineout Vancouver. We were 30 minutes early but staff were great in trying to fit us in earlier. The place was packed! We were thankful we didn’t have to wait too long. Thank you Moxie’s!
Some staff were awesome and very polite & other staff w
Did New Years dinner here. Prices were a bit up there, but the food was tasty. Would dine there again.
Ordered the new years eve special and the food was excellent. Our waiter was friendly and very good
It was New Years Eve dinner! These place was an awesome find. Great food, staff, and ambiance. Wil definitely be back.
A great night out with the family celebrating the new year!
Nice venue to meet up with
friends and enjoy a good meal.
Service was very good .
Waitress was attentive to the group’s needs.
Great food and amazing service! Place was busy but our table of 7 were always served quickly, drink refills on the table before we even realized it was empty!
This restaurant has a disconnect with Open Table. Twice now our reservation was not in Moxie's system. Wasn't a problem because they weren't busy, but there is no comfort in wondering if my reservation has been or has not been received even though I have a confirmation email from Open Table.
It was great, food & service were 5 star
Family get together to meet the “new guy”. Enough background noise to eliminate any quiet lulls in the conversation but we could till enjoy a good visit. Service was good and considerate of lactose concerns. We all enjoyed our meals.
It was the last night of our holiday. Stayed at hotel next door, saw reviews from other travellers.
All good except light level a bit too dark and music too loud. Would be good to have some areas with no speakers above head.
Food very lovely, portions were huge and had to leave some. Would have preferred salad with ribs rather than potatoes.
Otherwise very nice and waiter very friendly .
Food and service were good but the hostess should get another job.
We have usually like Moxies as it can accommodate our children and grandchildren and the kid's menu is good. This time, some of the food wasn't as good as usual. My daughter and I had the Fish tacos and we both thought they were dry. Like they had been under a heat lamp too long. Our sons veggie burger with portabello mushroom was good and the vindaloo was excellent. The kids meals were great. One of our grandson's volcano ice cream was melted before he got it. Otherwise good. We had an 97 year old friend and I found it hard to talk to her because the music suddenly got louder and would have been better turned down a titch.
We had 10 people but there had been a serious accident that had gridlocked traffic so a couple of people were almost 2 hours late. The waitress and restaurant was very patient with the situation. There were 2 young children that she help distract during the long wait. It was a family get together with people from out of town so it really help make the occasion
My husband and I enjoyed our meal at Moxie's. I had the Salmon with ginger sauce and he had the full order of ribs. very well prepared and presented. Delicious actually. We shared the chocolate dessert - I think the only chocolate one on the menu, but all of them sounded good. Trying to decide on a wine, I asked our server for a small taste of two - she was very happy to do so and we selected the Hester - a B.C. vineyard - and we enjoyed it. Several servers and management checked on us periodically in a most attentive way, but not intrusive.
Moxie's has been a solid "go-to" for us. As our daughter has gotten older, there has always been something on the menu that she likes. In a dining scene that has other similar choices, Moxie's has always delivered and we've enjoyed our meals there - delicious, uncomplicated, solid dinners. The prices seem fair and the service is always pleasant. Even with two large groups there at the same time, the kitchen kept up and our steaks were cooked exactly as ordered.
We took our Mom for Mother's Day lunch. The service was outstanding, we felt very well taken care of. Everyone from the manager on duty to the servers and greeters were very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time.
Good food and service but rather too noisy. Bear in mind that it's a Thursday evening early dinner at 1830!?
A bit noisy.... large group nearby
Servers attentive but not overly so
Bill came promptly when asked for. Server split the villas asked.
Meal tasty and of appropriate size
all good Service was well time and I thing price was right
We had the southern fried chicken sandwich/burger. It was really good - the chicken was light and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
Chicken lettuce wraps are disappointing. Expensive and the portion is small! My only complaint. Everything else is FANTASTIC
It was a milestone birthday previously mentioned and despite requesting a simple candle on the dessert, it was forgotten? Coarse black pepper was suggested and then requested with our steak, but was also forgotten? Wine suggested was good.
The staff was very inexperienced. When I got my main dish I didn't have a fork or a steak knife. I was waiting for a while until I was able to flag a waitress down. And our original waitress never really came back to ask how things were doing. When it came down to dessert we were given the dish without spoons. Terrible experience. Terrible way to end the night last night.
Overall our waitress was excellent and the food was good. My issue was the reservation. I asked for a reservation for 10 and they split us into 2 booths when there was all sorts of space to put tables together to accommodate us. We went to eat as a family. We didn't want to be split. They finally added a table to the end of one of the booths but customers kept on squeezing by the narrow walk area and interrupting our dinner. If they can't accommodate a bigger group they should have at least advised us beforehand and we would have gladly found another place to eat.
we went during dine-out Vancouver, the meal was good though nothing exciting. I'm not in a hurry to go back.
