Mozambique blends exotic adventure with warm hospitality, offering a menu rich with South African influences, including signature Peri-Peri prawns, wood-fired steaks, and flavorful curries. The three-story venue boasts stunning ocean views from its Veranda rooftop, elegant dining in the Durban Room, a lively music scene in the newly renovated Ivan’z House (formerly the Shebeen, updated in July 2024), and a serene garden patio.
Reservations will guarantee a table in our restaurant, but seating area is subject to availability. Please expect an additional wait for Rooftop Seating, Live Music, and other high demand areas. To book a Private Event or a specific table, a deposit will be required in addition to a food and beverage minimum, please contact our events coordinator at 949.715.7107 for pricing.

Complimentary Transportation available! 5pm and later, within Laguna Beach or a 5-10 mile radius depending on group size). For customers w/ dinner reservations only - call to schedule.

    Mozambique was an amazing place to dine with a vast selection of wonderful dishes. The ambience was wonderful with live music, and the wine was excellent. We had the oysters, Samoosas, Durban Curry, Salmon, and the Burger. None disappointed. The portions were good sized and the flavors amazing and well developed. Highly recommend!

    The staff was very nice. Opentable had asked if it was special occasion, and it was—our 40th Anniversary. Not sure why it was asked because no one at the restaurant acknowledged it. We were seated in front of the bar, with loud people drinking. The charcuterie board was really good. The main dishes, not so much. My scallops wrapped in prosciutto were good—the carrots were unevenly cooked. My husband’s halibut was overcooked, unfortunately. It was not the best first impression.

    Overall, an average meal for the value--speaking of which, there wasn't. My girlfriend's scallops were barely the size of a quarter and were too salty. Feel free to make your scallops larger than an M&M. My steak was good-sized and properly cooked. But it lacked that special something that great steaks all have in terms of flavor. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't a $58-worthy steak. The highlight of the meal food-wise was the ceviche. This is a must-order, because it is OUTstanding! The drinks were solid and the service from Juan was wonderful. But this was a disappointment for the money spent.

    Very nice saw ambience The food was fantastic. Service was a little slow and at times had to remind our server about our cocktails. But overall, our experience was great and we will be back.
