The venue was busy and I doubt they had enough staff to cater. It took a while to get any table service. But finally when we did the drinks came short. There was a delay in getting the food too! But still we enjoyed and had a good time!

Went there for NYE and they had the most amazing band that was playing. The songs was filled with old classics that got everyone to the dance floor. Plus there were heaps of competition such as a beer drinking and a yodeling competition. Highly recommend!

Our party of 5 turned up at the appointed time to celebrate two birthdays to find that our booking adjustment of one extra on Open Table from the night before had not been actioned. The staff helpfully still worked with the change. we were seated at an unset end of a large group booking. The location was fine, we ordered pork knuckles and were told that none were available because all of them were being saved for the set menu banquets!! As a set menu option I don't understand how you can run out of pork nuckle. Some ordered pork belly as the second option. Drinks arrived promptly, the tap water at room temperature. Cutlery arrived but we had to help ourselves to plates from the group setting when the shared entre arrived. The pretzel was great. The pork belly was outstanding with crisp crackling. If I had known what it was like I would have order it too instead of my schnitzel. The servings of meat were generous, the included salads are small. So extra saurkraut or vegetables are a welcome option. We left well fed as the noise level increased to very lively plus very crowded as the tables filled to walking single file between the diners was the only access.

Took friends from overseas here and for sunday night it was packed as usual. Was standing for a while awkwardly for someone to come and direct us to seat. I made the reservation thru opentable but didnt show up on the system; anyway they had table available so was ok. Good vibe but can be too noisy Staff were friendly enough but being too busy, i had to ask for water three times Food was ok The worst bit was, which i think is one of the worst in dining experience is that they asked for tips directly. I saw this in review from other people but didnt pay attention as much until it happned to me. I left 10% tip but I just dont think its professional at all. Might work for tourist but living here knowing that australian wage standard is pretty high, idk about the tip bit asked upfront.

We have been here many times and is an essential on any trip to Sydney. This visit was quite enjoyable, our first child free night away for 3 years. Food and beverages were wonderful, atmosphere excellent. Only complaint was that on arrival we were led inside to the beerhall-style section which was almost empty and seated at a four top already occupied by another couple. It felt very strange! We understand the idea of beerhall seating but perhaps seating couples staggered along the longer bench tables would be better so early in the evening? The other couple looked quite uncomfortable when we were seated too. We had a beautiful dinner and service was good. We will definately be back!

Performances were very entertaining and the pork knuckles, sauerkraut with beetroot side, and bbq chicken were amazing! Felt like I was in Germany. Will be back soon!

This was a great place to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. The atmosphere was lively and fun and the food was yummy with plenty of it. Highly recommend the wheat beers - we certainly enjoyed them. The music was upbeat and fun and we got up for a dance - they have some fun comps too if you're up for it. Highly recommend for a fun night out.

I made a booking 2 months in advance I was getting reminders every week nearly then when I get there they say they have no booking for me at all and the only reason they end up fitting us in was that I showed them the email confirmation so they shoved us into an over crowded table out on the patio where you couldn't move and I wanted a table inside to show our friends the atmosphere and ambience of this location so I was very disappointed and they didn't even apologise for saying I didn't have a booking even though I could prove it so I will not be going back there again.

Bucks night. Forgot to prebook the set menu. Looked like distater loomed. Our waitress Cara was amazing.We cannot praise her enough. She truley went above and beyond which we thought was incredible given the number of tables she was serving. Cara's knowledge of the menu and experience meant we were able to order a perfect substitute for what we had planned. The night went off without a hitch the food platters were the best. A big thank you to Cara for her efforts she truly saved the night.

Food was salty, really salty. Ambiance and service makes up for it though. Our table was very loud, and two steins glasses broken. Top culprit got a warning and told not to drink, but didn't kick us out. Thanks for that management.

The design your own salad option was tasty and reasonable value ($15.50), when served as a salad. However charging $15.50 for a salad wrap that the customer designed was pathetic. The atmosphere was quite pleasant - a live band, so it was just a little too noisy to hear what everyone on your table said, but you could hear what the people next to you were talking about. At the same time no chance for dancing. The Saturday lunch service was patchy. The drinks servers were on steroids but the food order took ages to be taken. Not a place to bring young kids - nothing for them to do.

My family decided to have our belated Christmas get-together here last Saturday. It didn't disappoint! Food was great, service was friendly and those of us who had a drink enjoyed the beverages too. It was also the coolest place to lunch in Sydney on a very hot day. The live music was entertaining as well. Highly recommended!

Excellent overall. However TVs wherever you look are an annoying distraction ; not necessary in a dining environment.. In this respect the former Lowenbrau was markedly superior.
