Slow and mistake on Check
Wonderful but noisier than I remembet
Service was excellent !! The food was very good too...
The food was great. I had never tried the Trout before and was extremely happy with the meal. Partner had the salmon which she loved. Great restaurant and service.
very poor service. waitress dropped the ball throughout entire dinner. asked for a shot to accompany my cocktail...never came, then when I told her just forget it, all she said was ok and walked away. waited at least 15 minutes for it to never come. were t offered any bread...everyone else around us did. she had an obvious attititude....my good came about 10 minutes before my husband so I was just sitting waiting for his meanwhile mines getting cold....husband wine flas stayed empty forever he had to flag her down to get a new glass. it was just horrible. husband said worst dinner has had this year. and it was motherday for so thanks! yeah would love our money back. I never write a review so this should say something. left her a 15% tip which we never do. we leave 20% always...u have to be really bad for us not to. she likely thought we were cheap, but that was not the case. i suggested just a note such as the one I'm writing now but he didn't feel like it.
Great service, great food as always!
This restaurant is exceptional. The food, services, and ambiance were impressive. I will definitely return to explore more of the delicious menu choices.
Great!!!! Always good service and food!!!
I have been planning to dine at Murphy's for quite a while. We went Mother's Day weekend for brunch. The wait service was phenomenal. The portabella frittata was the best I've eaten. Will definitely return.
Excellent dining experience
Delicious meal. Always the very best.
Al Fresco dining superbly done fabulous food, personable server, Yahoo!!
Absolutely great place—- always reliably enjoyable!
Sat with a friend on the terrace, had a great glass of wine and the best mussels I’ve ever had anywhere. Murphy’s is always a delight with wonderful food and friendly service.
I took my best friend here for Sunday brunch for her birthday! I made a reservation with birthday listed as the occasion, and they had a cute birthday card for her when we got there! They also seated us 5 minutes early and gave us free dessert with a birthday candle. She felt so special! The food was amazing and the service was great! I will DEFINITELY be going back!!!
This is just a great restaurant that will probably be around forever! Great food, great service, great neighborhood- it doesn't get better than that! We don't live nearby, but gladly make the trek for a great meal.
Overall our experience was good. Our party of 6 arrived early; they were accommodating and sat us before our reservation time (per our request). The server was nice when she was there, but throughout our meal we had other people bringing out our drinks, appetizers, and entrees. This was my only drawback to the experience. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal and had a nice dining experience.
Excellent birthday celebration with my besties!
The Calamari and Kale salads were delicious. Especially when I added grilled shrimp and my friends added steak.
My Moscow Mules were superb and their wine selection was perfect.
Not to mention our waiter was fabulous.
This was our first time at Murphy’s and we were very impressed. Our server, Stephanie, was terrific on all counts. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and made just the right recommendations. Our food was expertly prepared and beautifully presented. We all enjoyed every bite of the flavorful fresh meals.
We look forward to our next visit!
The ambience and service were both exceptional. Fun place to meet friends or go on a date. The cocktails were great. My skirt steak special was very tough and chewy. I only ate half but my husband really liked his. The dessert selection is plentiful and delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to a friend but I would never order skirt steak again. I had a chicken spinach and feta burger on a previous visit which was very good.
I’ve been to Murphy’s many times for brunch, but never for dinner. We were pleased that Murphy’s maintains an excellent product in the evenings as well! Dinner and wine was good, dessert was great. We sat on the patio, which is a little too tightly packed. Other patrons complained a lot about a draft by the tables closest to the exterior wall of the restaurant.
I've always loved Murphy's when I lived in Atlanta. So coming back to it after I have moved from the state was truly disappointing. The food was subpar at best, it was lukewarm, no flavor and I could tell it was not cooked with love. I will never look at Murphy's the same again nor will I pay that much for subpar food.
Great food, great service. Save room for dessert,
Murphy's has been a wonderful resturant since it location was Los Angeles St not far from where it is today. The Chef and owners are to be credited for reinventing and reengineering the restaurant several times over the years with out compromising the quality of the food, service, and overall appeal of the decor. I love going to Murphy's anytime and hope it continues to be a success all the years ahead.
We had a very nice dinner. The wine by the glass was a great treat -- as there were a variety of varietals and price levels. The food was very good. Had the brisket. Both of us loved it! The patio is a very nice place for dinner, as it seemed a lot quieter than the dining room where there were several large parties the night we were there. They have heaters on the patio, if it's a little cool. Not sure about comfort level mid-summer. Our waiter was a disappointment. Not at all engaging or pleasant. Seemed very busy. All-in-all, we have a lovely time.
I went here with a friend a my husband for my birthday. It was a great time! We have been a few times before and the service and the food is always great! We sat outside and it was perfect weather for it. The drinks are great and the menu selection is all very tasty!
One of our favorite dinner spots. Olivia waited on us. We have had the pleasure before. She is a consummate server and unobtrusive yet attentive. That’s a difficult balance ! The meatloaf was outstanding and. The toll house Pie delicious. !
Sister, brother in law, son, daughter in law and niece, who busted relocated from LA to Atlanta!
Took a long time to get food. Most folks liked theirs. My scallops were over cooked and cold. Otherwise, servers were friendly. Ambience was nice; I always enjoy being at this restaurant. When we were originally seated, we were near the bathrooms and it smelled strongly of urinal cakes. Thankfully, the host was accommodating and relocated us to better seats
The last time I visited this restaurant (Murphy ‘s) was in 1995 . Beautiful then and absolutely beautiful now. Very professional customer service and the food delicious.
Although, the last several times I visited (1993-1995) I would have their “White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake.” Bow tie pasta. Neither one is on the menu.
I/ We was very impressed with the new look of Murphy restaurant and we highly recommend this restaurant.
Great except parking
Great lunch for my husband’s birthday. We enjoyed the service and the ambiance. We had a nice quiet table in the back of the restaurant. We haven’t been to Murphy’s in a while and it was just as good, even better than we remembered.
Always a great place to take friends that don't get out much. The menu is varying enough to where there is something for every palate. And the prices won't break the bank. Easy to get to from midtown events and Piedmont Park.
We had to wait @ 20 minutes with a reservation and the entrance area was very crowded with no real waiting area. Our server was Inez, very pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. We had the calamari and the muscles for appetizers which were both fabulous. We had to ask for bread for dunking in the muscle broth. I had the range chicken, which was a nice sized breast that was very juicy and tasty. The mashed potatoes and asparagus served with the chicken were both delicious and flavorful. My spouse had the hanger steak which he said was perfect. A good night out in Virginia Highlands.
Do not order the french toast. It did not taste like a normal french toast. The ‘house fries’ were not cooked through properly and there was no flavor. There was more flavor in the onions and peppers that came with the potatoes. The Egg Benedict was very good. Their Jalapeño hollandaise sauce was not very different from the original. This place is okay. I was told later that this place has amazing desserts. Ill have to try them next time.
Whether regular menu items or specials, the food is consistent: scrumptious coupled with an outstanding presentation!
Healthy food and good selection of seafood.appetizers are great and Very nice wine selection
