Overall. .. the food was good.. I ordered the catfish dinner with Mac and cheese and greens .. the mac and cheese was very good ..the greens was very bland ... like they came out of a can .. no taste to them .. the catfish was very good ...but for the price ..u should get 3 pieces instead of 2

They were closed! There was a line of people that had reservations. No apology or anything. I traveled from Dayton. This will NEVER happen again. At least indicate closure in the app, telephone messages or the door!

This was the second reservation in a row that I booked on Open Table where the restaurant was closed. The first was on my birthday and Open Table was taking and confirming reservations for a restaurant on a Tuesday evening. The family showed up at the restaurant only to find that the place is never open on Tuesday. For Mother's Day we booked and confirmed a reservation for Mz Jade's Soul Food restaurant. We drove 50 minutes with a 6 day old baby in the car only to find that this restaurant was permanently closed. Way to ruin Mother's Day Open Table! I understand that mistakes can occur but my recent experience with Open Table has been totally unacceptable. They need to be better than this!

Follow up email is what is Open Table’s process to verify vendors. A group of us are really wanting to know since this was almost a traumatic event because of people coming from various places. But since I don’t have an answer from Open Table perhaps the right place to share this is the survey. On May 12, 2022, at 2:00 PM, Cecelia Benford wrote: This restaurant couldn't be really rated. I am writing about OpenTable who needs to do a better job monitoring businesses. The place was closed. The signs were still there. There was another family waiting to eat there. Open Table even sent us a reminder the day before Mother’s Day about our reservation. This was a bit of a drive and time sensitive for one of the 6 in our group. It caused us to call around to get a reservation ultimately at a Mexican Restaurant which turned out all right. I later looked for their website and it said permanently closed. I called and got a voicemail but you couldn't leave a message. Very disappointed both with Open Table system as well as the restaurant.

Very chaotic when we arrived, made reservations, they couldn’t figure out where to seat us. We ordered a shrimp and a lobster boil, the egg was missing and the corn was terrible. The shrimp was delicious and potatoes. My daughter loved her lobster.

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our GPS initially took us to the wrong spot, so we almost left. I'm so glad we circled the block and stumbled upon it! Mz. Jade does the cooking, which was super-flavorful. She came out to take our orders as well. Really cute decor. Most of the family got the fried chicken chunks, which they loved with the soul sauce and the BEST Mac and cheese. I got the hibachi with chicken, which was also super-flavorful. Servings were very generous. We will definitely be back!

We went to celebrate our anniversary...nothing mentioned from server. We had the seafood specials. My crab legs had been in the pot the whole day. Very old tasting and watery. The corn was shriveled up. The $5.99 sides were very very small. Not worth the money. We were very disappointed because we went on the great reviews. Ours definitely were not good and too pricey for bad food.

THEY NEED MORE HELP! It was my first time. We had a reservation but didn't get a table until 20 minutes later and all of the tables weren't occupied. Didn't get a drink for 30 minutes after I ordered one from the bar. It took over an hour to get our food and wasn't told they were out of something I ordered until they brought our plates to the table. The waitresses were very nice and working hard but they needed more help on the weekend. I'd be willing to give them a shot one more time after they get all of the kinks worked out.

Confusion with our reservation that we clearly had confirmation on, but they weren’t using Open Table?! It was an awkward situation. We were eventually seated. Food was good. Both of my wine glasses had lipstick on them when delivered.

Finally got to eat at MZ. Jades and I was not disappointed. We were seated promptly. The only problem I had was trying decide what to order. So much to choose from. The food was excellent. I had the cod, yams, salad and corn bread. My friend ordered the cod, cabbage, and mac & cheese. All delicious. The cod was not greasy !!!! Our server was a darling. Everyone was friendly and personable. I can't wait to go back. So many new dishes to try.

We were seated where we asked for on open table on time. Our server was very friendly and attentive, despite being very busy. They accommodated a special order request with no problem. The food was hot and delicious. We will definitely be dining here again. Price and value was excellent - you can tell everything is freshly made there.

Went to check out the restaurant that replaced Gracie’s. Walked in to see a Pepsi cooler. The industrial-chick ambiance was gone. Food was ok. Greasy is the main seasoning. The clean, classy restaurant was not the same.

Had a reservation for 11:15. Arrived early since website said it opened at 10. Called number a d left message on answering service. Didn't indicate they were closed. Left my number. Still closed at 11:15 and we left. So disappointed. Still have not received a call back. No note on door. They took my reservation and it was confirmed. Bad business

The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice! The violinist added to it very gracefully! The food, delicious and the presentation of it very appealing! The Fried Lobster Tail was very tasty! I would recommend this restaurant as a first choice place to stop when visiting or any time.

I booked the reservation for 5:00. They called and rescheduled it to 6:00. At the time of the reservation or the phone call to reschedule there was no mention of a prepared and limited menu. We only found out upon arriving at the restaurant. Our server had no idea what the options were and seemed pretty uninformed on what actually was being served that evening. We ordered and requested Med-Rare steaks. She asked us how we would like our steaks cooked even.... We got our food and the steak was Well-Done. It was chewy and fatty as well. We sent it back and received two more steaks....still Well-Done. The server proceeded to argue with us that this was not well done. There was not even a tiny bit of pink throughout the whole steak.....as I said Well-Done. We asked for the bill and were SHOCKED to find out that it was $75 per person. No wonder this place is closing. Their staff is rude, the food is bad and I wouldn't go back if someone paid me.

Scheduled a last minute dinner here since we were in the area and it had good reviews. Unfortunately we showed up on a Thursday at 5:30 and the doors were locked. We tried calling the phone number and no one answered as well. There was a note on the door about deliveries but nothing else. Sorry I won’t get to experience this place!

We had two staff test positive for Covid and as we awaited more results, we followed the best practice of not opening the evening of your reservation. We sent you a message around 3:00pm to the number on your reservation. We are sorry you were not able to dine with us, but the one star review is quite hurtful for a small restaurant like ours.

There were many people celebrating and it was hard to hear my table companions BUT it was worth it! the food was AMAZING and the bartender made the best martini a sliver of ice floating on top! the best we will be back soon!

We were told our appetizers would be out quickly so we ordered our entrees at the same time; entrees came out first! We were obviously on a date and yet a family with 4 young children were seated next to us. The food was good but I really thought we would be at the restaurant longer but we were out in 45 minutes. Very disappointed.

While there were only two servers present, and that completely explains the slow service that we experienced, there were several other issues with our experience at Gracie's. The online menu and tab service, while easy to use, had bad information, or no information. For example, an item marked grilled shrimp cocktail was represented by a picture and description of an heirloom tomato caprese salad. Another entry was titled salmon with beurre blanc sauce, but had a description of seared ahi tuna and a picture of seared ahi tuna. Unfortunately, because they were so short-staffed last night there was no way to really get someone to answer questions about those items or the items without any descriptions at all. This could be solved by having a chalk board listing the soup of the day, and whatever the smashed and chopped special was that was listed on the electronic menu. The meat on my kabobs (steak and chicken) were cooked perfectly, however it came with a semi-crunchy rice dish instead of the Brussels sprouts slaw on the menu. My husband's meatloaf came as listed, but was completely average. Both of our sides were warm, but not as warm/hot as our mains.

Bottom line is that we love going to Gracie’s. However, maybe it was a bad food night or something. I got the shrimp and grits and it was slightly clumpy and under seasoned, my date got the pimento smash burger and the burger was dry with no garnishes, just pimento cheese and some mystery sauce, no lettuce, tomato, onion…etc. overall it was meh food. But what they lacked in food, they more than made up for service. We were handled efficiently and very nicely. Several times we were stopped at and talked to and not just the cursory “everything okay”. Gracie’s is a mainstay, and I know they are struggling like everyone else but if they just go one more step closer to their food prepandemic, they will be outstanding again.
