Excellent service, great food. Lovely evening.
Services wasn’t bad but wasn’t great... didn’t know about the different beers on tap. Steak was just ok ... nothing great and very expensive.
Excellent service, wonderful location. The staff worked hard to accommodate our special requests and were very kind and caring.
Amazing as always, steak was perfect , dessert was amazing as well and it was a bonus the raptors won !
The restaurant is beautiful and only steps away from the lake! Would definitely come back.
We (a family of six) had dinner this past Saturday. The restaurant itself is beautiful. That being said it is clear that it is a pretty unprofessional management team running the place and it shows - wait staff were fine but not up to the quality of the location or the prices charged. The fire alarm went off twice during the meal which was highly annoying and distracting. The food was decent - but not distinctive and for the prices charged not really worth the value. The owner was gracious at the end in trying to offer some desserts (which were good) but overall we left with a view that we won’t be back. Toronto has much more to offer.
My son said it was the best steak he had ever had. He also wondered if I could call the restaurant and get the recipe for the Mac and cheese. He had two.
The restaurant was better than I had expected. The owner gave us a tour of the meat freezer and kitchen. Met the chef and saw the biggest grill in North America. That chef made magic.
The ambience was very nice. Had a lovely table at the back overlooking the lake. The service was excellent and understated.
The food portions were very big. Will have leftovers for the weekend. The T-bone steak was perfectly cooked and the presentation in the black cast iron dish was lovely. May have to steal that for my home.
Definitely will go back.
Extreme price gouging at Mother’s Day Brunch. Charged $40 pp for my 2 kids ages 9 and 6. Mandatory 18% gratuity for buffet service and party of 4. Menu on open table showed a la carte items of pancakes and waffles available. Arrive at the restaurant to find no a la carte items on offer. Buffet had no pancakes or waffles for the kids. Very poor value and misleading.
Really nice place to be with great staff and amazing food.
Really wanted to like this place but had such a bad experience will never go back or recommend. Overpriced brunch was $20 more per person than advertised. Manager was an absolute monster when I mentioned they should update the website.
Superior customer service
High quality meat
We didn't have the 'best' experience here. Our steaks were luke warm when they arrived and our server seemed to be so busy (poor guy) that we couldn't get his attention so we decided to eat them anyway. Not all our sides came and we had to ask 3 times for them. The remain side was delivered to our table just as we finished our food - we sent it back! We had to pour our wine ourselves despite every other table getting theirs poured for them - we don't mind but if every other table is getting premier service - why not us?
The ambience is nice and whilst it was very busy - the noise level was such that you could easily have a clear conversation.
The server was extremely nice- I just think he was so run off his feet that he simply couldn't give the top service that he probably wanted to. He apologised profusely and offered to get his manager but we didn't see the point.
At this price point - our expectations were high. Having been to Ruth Chris's, Michaels on Simcoe and others - this is well below par.
Fantastic food. Took my mom for an early Mother's Day lunch and we all loved it.
Might be a good place for dinner but I would not recommend it for brunch. The food took forever to arrive, was extremely greasy and lacked any flavor. Very disappointing experience.
I took 2 of my clients with their wives , first there was no wine in menu that they had! Then we decide to have cocktails the cocktails were uneven and water down , the order couple of appetizers 2 of each to share which they decided to bring half when they even took our plates away , weather got dark and it was no light above us that waiter said the manager gonna come and see u which he never did , we put or cell phones on top of glasses to be able to see!! Never been this disappointed, tooo bad as location is great and has ana amazing view !
Honestly I’m not sure how this place has such great reviews. The concept has so much potential, and I was really looking forward to trying it out, but it’s executed poorly. Mostly our mediocre experience has to do with the wait staff. They weren’t knowledgeable and couldn’t offer any suggestions. The server couldn’t tell which steaks were on our plates when they served us. That just goes to show either lack of experience or training. It’s little things, like when you order a drink and ask for lemon but they bring you lime. Or a bottle of Perrier with no glasses. Do I really have to ask? The food was pretty good, but our steaks were cold. There was only 2 of us so not a big party to be served. We ordered the side of fire cooked greens which consisted of 4 stems of kale. It tasted nice, but for the price I expected a lot more. Should have gone to The Keg.
Fantastic food, amazing service and great ambiance. Loved it.
Food was great but they arbitrarily increased the price of the beef short rib from 35 to 50 which is a huge increase and it was particularly disappointing because we went there for that dish. Food taste was good though.
As per always it was amazing and the service was its usual fantastic familiar self.....so many restaurants now a days don’t take the time to recognize their continued guests but Neruda definitely makes you feel welcomed and acknowledged
Steak was good, octopus was not very fresh. Took about half an hour for our order to get to us. Found it very pricey.
I go out to a lot of restaurants. Service was hands down the worst I have ever experienced.
Party of 7, waited 20minutes to be greeted our table and 35 mins before getting a drink... actually watched our drinks sit on a tray at the bar ... 5, 10 minutes later as servers zip back and forth — clueless
Food was served to certain people and not others as entrees and main dishes were brought to our table. Also different servers were coming and going to our table — as clearly the staff, the kitchen and/ or both lost track of who ordered what!
The whole time the Owner is sitting not 10feet away. Not even a gesture of an apology. He was too busy chatting up his much too young girlfriend!
This place will be closed down in no time.
The food is good but the service is well below the standard.
We went there for brunch and the food was delicious. The ribs were a little dry and bland and the bacon not crispy. Everything else was exceptional!
Friends, if you are here do not forget where you are: this is a steak house. Service at the beginning was awkward - as we were bounced between an assistant, our server and the GM. Awkward does not mean unwanted. Everyone was super welcoming and +++ happy to be there to sell you their best (attitude, food, service, beverage etc) which is awesome. Be open to it; if you want their best then let them tell you. Alex, the GM/owner, is appropriately enthusiastic/proud/humble about everything and if you get the opportunity to have that conversation about the meats, aging, geography and process you'll be so much happier for that attention - enthusiasm for quality should never be understated. If it's your first time you should heed the advice; it's a lot of food. Salomeh (May) is an absolute star. Having had her service before, at another restaurant and making that connection, she was an absolute delight. Chef Frank on the pass, doing a great job with quality. Our striploin and short rib were amazing. An incredibly memorable night with sincere heartfelt thanks to Alex and Salomeh and Chef Frank, and his team, for a most memorable anniversary.
Really enjoyed my first experience -- would like to see one option for chicken on the menu
Went with my son and loved the flat iron steak. Good quality. Beautiful spot, on the water. This was our second time and got a seat by the window. Will be back or steak again!
Neruda has the best brunch I’ve ever had. Great atmosphere, beautiful design and most importantly, amazing, delicious, high quality food! I will be back ASAP!
We went on a Sunday for brunch. The restaurant wasn't too packed but the music was really loud and didn't seem to fit the ambiance - interestingly enough, the couple next to our table also commented on the loudness of the music to who I think was the manager. The service on the other hand, was amazing - our waitress was really attentive and friendly. One thing to note though: the pancakes aren't part of the brunch buffet. We asked where we could find the pancakes after seeing some tables eating them and were told that we had to order them directly through out waitress. We thought it was because the pancakes were made fresh... but turns out that it is an additional cost. We were not too pleased about that (as amazing as the pancakes were) since we didn't really need extra food on top of the buffet, so our bill came up much higher than anticipated. Overall, an okay experience :)
Most food was better than average for buffet, really good! Chicken was slightly overcooked and brisket was perfectly cooked but slightly too salty to be eaten on its own (maybe next time I’d have it in bread).
Striploin was melt in your mouth delicious! Flat iron was also tasty, but chewy. The sides (potatoes, ratatouille and mac n cheese) were all fantastic! Rachel our waitress was amazing and so friendly and informative. Love the open concept kitchen where you can watch the chefs cooking away and the fire roaring!
Only things I think it could work on: The ugly neon 'Open' sign at the entrance.. the bright hostess desk was blinding.. presentation for both steak dishes was "sad". The potatoes were larger than the steak and everything just kind of rolled around on a massive plate. Didn't stop us from devouring the whole thing though :) Lastly the cost of an $18 glass of prosecco is a bit ridiculous, especially if it's flat.
Definitely worth a visit ! We plan to go for brunch this Sunday so we're looking forward to testing that out too! Thanks
One of the best spaces in Toronto considering location ( easy access off lakeshore), parking (lots of it) , view of beach, and the size and ambiance ( great job on the reno). The food and service are excellent. I am looking forward to bringing friends.
food was good when it eventually arrived after over an hour wait, and it was not busy - made for a terrible experience, especially when you pay almost 50.00 per steak unacceptable, would not recommend.
Celebrated my finance Birthday he came in from out of town we had an amazing time,
Food was fantastic, Location is great. Service was wonderful -- except they wouldn't serve us a side of their delicious fries -- as only for the kids. Please need to check this place out. I'm a vegetarian and the tofu dish was one of the best i've had.
Enjoyed checking out this newer restaurant at the Beach. Good, attentive server. Had beef tenderloin as steak seems to be the specialty. It was prepared as requested and prices were as one would expect for a more high end steakhouse.
The restaurant had a great vibe. The decor was great, the ambient music was perfectly suited to the environment, and the service was terrific. The food was absolutely incredible and the value was definitely there. Had the ribeye which was as tender a meat as I've ever had. Definitely going back to try the cote de boeuf.
I have to say I was really looking forward to eating here but I was extremely disappointed. Our server kept on forgetting to bring us the thing we ordered. It started with water, then we asked for more cocktail sauce for our Oyster to our sides for our main course and our coffees with dessert. The service was really bad for this type of restaurant. Our food was very average. We had to send back the soup we ordered it tasted really funky, We tried the special red snapper, which was very disappointing. It was very bland and overcooked. We also had a steak which was prepared well but less than room temperature and huge pieces of fat! I have to say the restaurant has cool decor, I just wish the food was better. I eat out every weekend and try different restaurants in Toronto and I was hoping this one was going to be at par of some of the city's new restaurants, but it's not! It needs a good chef to bring it up to par with the prices they're charging!
I don't recommend it, there is much better in the city for the price.
An amazing atmosphere. Informative and friendly staff. Beautiful ambiance. Delicious meal.
Food, Service and staff were all a very positive experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Looking forward to going this summer and sitting in the outdoor patio we were told about.
