We decided to come here because of the Happy Hour special on oysters. I hate it when you make a reservation somewhere and the hostess does not even glance at it. Do they know where you wanted to sit, because you have three options and can designate here. Are you celebrating something? They had no clue we were celebrating our anniversary because they didn't look. Overall, our experience was poor. The hostess was poor, we sat at the bar and were SWARMED with gnats while we ate. That is disgusting and dirty. The oysters were really good, but sadly it didn't matter. Also, there were only two beers on tap. This is NOLA... really?? I do not recommend this restaurant, sadly.

Classicly well-done New Orleans dishes at an affordable price. The Red Beans and Rice were great! They have a nice outdoor patio and bar worth asking for if the weather's nice.

The location is in the heart of the French Quarter. Our waitress was super! We got all her attantion and she recommended great food (why not add the catfish to your meal to make it unique) and she was perfectly right.

While eating I saw a huge rat running across your ceiling pipes. I couldn't finish my food after that. I also had a fly in my cocktail so couldn't finish that also. The waiter was pretty slow and appeared completely disinterested. What I did taste of the food, the flavours were nice.

We were visiting New Orleans from New Jersey — it was our 14 year wedding anniversary dinner and we were out with another couple. After we ordered our drinks we were informed that the kitchen was behind due to a larger party of approx 50 so service was definitely slow. Our waitress did her best and our food was good. The drinks were good as well. The manager ended up having to comp us for our appetizers since they came out at the same time of our entrees but the food was definitely not disappointing. We would return hoping for faster service.

Ok food quality. Crab cakes had too much bread mix. Hush puppies didn't look fresh but tasted fine. Way too noisy on the patio due to an exhaust vent or fan running constantly. Sounded like a constant distant car horn. Jambalaya tasted great as did the large sized oysters.

I usually don’t leave poor reviews but this time I cannot keep quiet. My meal was abruptly interrupted when my family and I encountered a large rat running around the courtyard. The rat took my already mediocre experience to a definitive I will never dine at this restaurant again. The food was lacking flavor, I was unable to order oysters because I was told “the oyster guy left” which happened to be more then 1 hour prior to the restaurant actually closing. My drink was all ice and no alcohol. The entire experience was disappointing. The worst part, I alerted staff of the extremely LARGE rat, when he saw it himself, he told me to tell the manager. When I told the manager, she immediately closed the door to the interior dining room and said “I’m sorry” with a smile. My fiancé paid $160 for us to walk out abruptly because I was so upset. I will absolutely never return.

Underwhelming! I was in New Orleans for a four-day conference and Creole Cookery had to be the worst dining experience of the entire trip. The service was terrible, our server started the evening by not bringing us our cocktails until we reminder her. It took so long to get the drinks that when they arrived the ice was completely melted, and the drinks were watery. The appetizers and the entrée arrived at the same time and the Étouffée was cold and looked more like rice soup then Étouffée. When we told the Manager about the condition of the food, he actually asked if we wanted it just heated up or would we prefer it was replaced. Needless to say, skip Creole Cookery!

Number one - the crawfish etouffee was chock full of crawfish! And was wonderfully spicy…heaven. And we loved the alligator appetizer - yum! Great sauce, too. Hostess and waiter (James) were friendly and welcoming. The ambience was so old world-historical, the brick everywhere was cozy. Great job on everything!

It was pretty obvious that our server was not happy to be working our table last night. It was also interesting of the things that the cook apparently would not do such as provide extra salad dressing. All out. Of everything but one choice. Later though more was found way in the back… Lol No substitutions. Really odd. Food was mediocre.

The high noise rating was from the kitchen exhaust fan that emptied into the what would otherwise have been charming courtyard. They ran out of knives and actually seemed puzzled that we even wanted one... Clearly a mid-level dining experience. But, the food was probably a bit better than some of the other aspects of it. the Calamari was excellent, the dishes in the sampler plate (etoufee, gumbo, red beans, etc.) were pretty good. Upside is we could get a reservation with late notice on a bust Saturday during Jazzfest. Probably reason we could was that the quality, etc. were middling.

We arrived half hour early for our reservation, but were promptly seated. James, our server, was great. Explained the dishes we had questions about, and took very good care of us. Started with oysters that were plump and delicious. I had the redfish and my wife had shrimp on fettuccine with a mushroom sauce. Both were delicious and done just right. I am looking forward to eating here again.

The most expensive meal I've had so far in New Orleans and yet the worst. My meal, shrimp (6 to be precise) and grits, looked like it had been cooked for hours and left under a heating lamp. Would not go back and would not recommend.

Nice enough place, a little quieter than some around. Friendly staff. I got really excited that they advertised vegetarian dishes..unfortunately the vegetarian jambalaya tasted a bit like ketchup on rice- no spice at all! I’ll consider coming back because the fish was delicious…but they have some things to work out.

Here for Jazz fest and had a hard time finding a place that would take a reservation for 4 people. Saw good reviews and were not disappointed. Servers were friendly and professional, had great recommendations for a picky, non-adventurous eater in my group (me!), and our meals were delicious. I tried the red fish - cooked perfectly. Good drinks. Nice atmosphere - quiet, but we were there fairly early as we arrived in town on morning flights. Would definitely recommend.
